How to find and save YouTube ads
0:01
So video ads are more important than ever. And so many people are spending so much time on YouTube
0:06
There's a bunch of amazing advertisers that really have the structure down, how to create
0:11
amazing ads that convert. If you're starting from scratch, want to learn how to actually create a good ad
0:17
What's the structure of the video? How do you hook the viewer so that they don't skip in the first five seconds and they actually
0:23
are captivated by the story you're telling? And they like the call to action and click on the ad to go to your landing page
0:29
or your sales page. To learn from others is a great way for you to get started
0:33
If you're doing Facebook or Instagram ads, you can just go to the Facebook ads library
0:38
I created a video about that last week. I'll link to it above right here
0:41
But basically you can easily go there, search for the business that you want to see the ads of
0:45
And there they are. YouTube is completely different though. So you could be on YouTube, click on a video
0:50
a great ad comes up. Things you can't even rewind the ad. So you could pause it there, record your screen
0:56
and then save all those ads somewhere. So that's a bunch of work. And there's definitely a good
0:59
easier way than I'm going to show you today. So first, we're going to take a look at how you can save video ads that you're seeing on YouTube on your computer. Then we'll take a look at how to do it
1:07
on your phone. It's a little bit more difficult and you can't do it for all ads, but I'll show you
1:11
what you can do. And lastly, if you stick around to the end of the video, I'll show you how you can
1:15
actually search for YouTube ads with a free tool. With that said, let's get started. Okay, so here we are
1:20
at YouTube.com. Let's find some ads and I'll show you how to save them. So let's see safe and secure
1:27
crypto. All right. So here, Melio payments. So obviously the long way to do this is to just
1:36
pause this, record your screen. That's not how I recommend doing it. I don't know if you knew this
1:40
but every single YouTube video has a unique YouTube URL including ads So every single ad needs to be uploaded to YouTube most of the time it saved as an unlisted video so it won show up if you actually go and view the YouTube channel of the business or content creator but it there Usually it unlisted You just need to have the link to it to be able
1:59
to see it. So for this Melio video, there's a couple of ways that we can get the URL. So we want
2:06
to right click and you see here we have three options. Copy debug info, troubleshooting, and stats for
2:12
nerds. The one way to do it that's not the recommended way, but I'll show you anyways
2:16
is stats for nerves, and the video ID is this right here. So we could do. So these are the two
2:23
different ways that YouTube videos can be represented. This is the short way if you go to kind
2:29
of share a YouTube link, and this is the normal way that you see it in the URL. But if we wanted
2:34
to essentially copy that URL that I did or that video ID, we could do that here so we could
2:41
say YWT for D FWH 724. And then if we copy this, let's open a new tab and let's see drum roll if this works
3:01
Did I type something wrong? YWT for D. F, ah, D.F. Oh, that's a D. For D for D
3:11
And here, here we go. So here we go, here is the Melio ad
3:16
And which you're gonna see, oh, this is showing an ad on top of an ad, school
3:21
And so you can see this is on the Melio Payment YouTube channel
3:25
So that's kind of the long way to do it where you need to write all this down
3:31
because you can't highlight or copy this text. So the easier way to do this that doesn involve you hoping to type stuff and it really really fun if they L and I is in there which you can tell the difference between If you want to right or on a Mac control and click
3:47
and copy debug info. So you can go through this huge amount of code if you wanted to
3:51
and find the video ID, or there's an easier way if you go to adlag.com slash debug
3:57
And in a second, this little box pops up, copy all this long code here
4:04
Sometimes you have to hit enter, and then this, again, is that same URL
4:09
So what this is actually pulling out is the ID. There's two different IDs
4:14
This is the idea of the video that I'm watching. And so if we just look for ID, you're going to see Add Doc ID
4:23
And then you can see that's that same video ID right there. So the website is essentially searching for that, pulling it out, put it into the URL
4:32
And boom, there you go. you have the URL for the app
4:36
So I usually take notes in a program called Rome Research. So what I would do is I would copy this and then I would go to Rome Research, type in the
4:45
link, and then I would probably take some notes on why this caught my attention
4:49
So it's a Melio Payments, Great CTA, call to action. Something like that, I could obviously then have a bunch of different videos written here and
4:59
so if I'm like, hey, I want to see call to action. I can find the videos where I said they had a really good call to action, watch those
5:06
learn from it for creating my video content. So we just learned how to save YouTube videos if you're on a computer
5:12
But what if you're on your phone? It's not quite as easy and it doesn't work 100% of time
5:16
It actually works quite a bit less. Let's hop on my phone and take a look at what we need to do
5:21
So find three stocks to trade in three steps. Okay, State Farm
5:25
So if I click on this you see the little three dots detected right here If I click on the three dots what do I have This one actually works So I have share So I can click on share and I can copy a link or share it to any
5:37
one of these different places. So I copy the ad and there we go. So now what I promise you're sticking
5:42
around until the end is how to find or search for YouTube ads. So I found a free tool that you can use
5:48
called vid tau. So here's what the website looks like. Let's log in and I'll show you how it works
5:54
So earlier today, I was watching YouTube doing some research for an upcoming video, and it came across this ad
6:00
The thing is, I skipped it because I was trying to finish up doing the research
6:04
And then later, I was like, hey, what if I can actually search for and find this ad again
6:09
So the video is by either Russell Brunson or ClickFunnels, and it had this Mission Impossible theme
6:13
So I went into VidTau and search. So if you look for, let's say, ClickFunnels
6:20
And what you're going to see here is that there's a ton of ClickFunnels ads
6:26
And I didn't see the one that I was looking for. I don't know if there were, I didn't see any future pages
6:31
But what I did look for is I looked for Mission Impossible. And scrolling down, here we go, one funnel away, and then clicked on this
6:42
So I guess they won't let you see this video if you're not on YouTube, but can click on YouTube
6:47
And here's the ad again. So this is great. So if there's something that you see somewhere else and you want to look forward to see
6:55
if it's in vidtow or if you just want to see what competitor ads may be saved here already
7:01
the thing is you can click on swipe and it'll save this into a folder for you
7:05
So that's how you can first save ads that you find on YouTube that you want to go back to later
7:09
and a free tool to be able to search for ads and also a platform to save your ads if you want to use it that way as well
7:15
So if you're looking to learn more about running ads, we have a whole bunch of videos to help you with that
7:19
to the playlist right here. Hope to see you in those and future videos. Bye-bye
