Welcome to our daily encounter with the Word of God! Today, we reflect on the day’s readings from the Acts of the Apostles (Acts 28:16-20,30-31) and the Gospel according to John (John 21:20-25). These passages conclude two great books of the New Testament and invite us to embrace faithful discipleship and the greatness of Christ’s mission. First Reading (Acts 28:16-20,30-31): At the end of Acts, Paul arrives in Rome. Even though he is under custody, he boldly proclaims the Kingdom of God and teaches about Jesus Christ without hindrance. For two years, he welcomes all who come to him, proving that the Word of God cannot be chained. This passage is a testimony of apostolic perseverance. Despite trials and chains, Paul remains faithful. His courage inspires us to hold firm in our faith, even in the face of adversity. Gospel (John 21:20-25): In today’s Gospel, Peter asks Jesus about the fate of the beloved disciple. Jesus replies, “If I want him to remain until I come, what is that to you? You follow me!” John concludes by saying that if everything Jesus did were written down, the world could not contain the books. This passage teaches us that each disciple has a unique calling. We are invited to follow Jesus personally and faithfully, without comparison, trusting in His plan for each of us. Reflection and Call to Conversion Today’s readings call us to faithful mission and personal commitment. Like Paul and John, may we be courageous witnesses to Christ, allowing His Word to shape our lives and deepen our relationship with Him.
