JetBlue Airways Corporation marked a milestone on Tuesday, retiring its Embraer E190 after nearly two decades, according to Benzinga. Chief Operating Officer Warren Christie said the aircraft was “instrumental in our early years” for expanding short-haul markets. The airline has now fully shifted to an all-Airbus fleet centered on the A220-300, with its 50th delivery arriving alongside the retirement. JetBlue has taken 52 of 100 A220s on order, a modernization plan that aims to enhance efficiency, reduce fuel burn, and expand route capabilities. JetBlue also introduced SkyBreathe MyFuelCoach, an AI-driven application to support fuel savings and emission reductions. Shares traded 1.25% lower to $5.11 on Tuesday, and the stock is down more than 8% over the past year.
