Urban Outfitters reported second-quarter earnings of $1.58 per share, above estimates of $1.48, according to Benzinga. Revenue totaled $1.5 billion, surpassing expectations of $1.47 billion. Retail segment net sales rose 7.8% year-over-year, with comparable sales up across Free People, Anthropologie, and Urban Outfitters. Subscription revenue surged 53.2% on higher active subscribers, and wholesale net sales climbed 18.1%, led by Free People specialty customer demand. CEO Richard A. Hayne highlighted record quarterly revenue, profit, and earnings, with all brands showing growth across geographies. Shares fell 10.91% in extended trading on Wednesday.
