Stock Market Today: Nvidia Drags Down Nasdaq Futures, Dow Trades Higher—Dollar General, Dell, Best Buy In Focus

U.S. stock futures were swinging on Thursday following Wednesday’s advances. Futures of major benchmark indices were largely mixed. The initial jobless claims fell to 229,000 in the week ending Aug. 21, below the 231,000 consensus forecast. Real gross domestic product increased by 3.3% according to the second estimate released by the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis. This compares to a 0.5% decrease during the first quarter.
