Carlyle Signs Sponsorship Deal With Formula 1’s Oracle Red Bull Racing
Carlyle will become the exclusive investment management partner of Formula 1’s Oracle Red Bull Racing team in a new sponsorship deal aimed at boosting visibility with retail and high-net-worth investors. The partnership will display Carlyle branding on Red Bull’s RB21 car, drivers’ kits, pit wall, and garage, according to CNBC. Carlyle CEO Harvey Schwartz said the firm’s partnership with Red Bull Racing reflects growing access to private markets and aims to engage new investors while creating long-term value. F1 teams earned a combined $2 billion in sponsorship revenue last year, surpassing every league except the NFL, according to SponsorUnited. The report said F1 also posted the highest average sponsorship deal at $6 million, about eight times the NFL’s average. A SponsorUnited report found that technology led F1 team sponsorship revenue with $543 million, followed by financial services at $379 million.
