Wireless earbuds for half the price of Apple's product? Let's check these out
0:12
Oh, Dave Taylor here. Hang on. Yes, so Dave Taylor here, and I'm checking out these
0:19
These are the Jakku T7 wireless earbuds, and you'll notice they look a lot like a product from Apple
0:26
but they're half the price which leads to the question how do they compare so let's start with
0:33
some of the specs so they run on bluetooth 5.0 and they're sweat proof and they come with the
0:39
charging case of course and charging case they have little contacts at the bottom which do
0:45
charging so you drop these in and oops drop them in the right ones hopefully and immediately they
0:53
start charging up, you can see there's a little green light there that has lit up, and the earbuds
1:00
themselves actually have red lights illuminated in them. A little hard to see here, but basically
1:06
they'll be red until they're fully charged, and then they're good to go. Now, each time you're
1:12
using them, it's about two and a half hours play time with the earbuds in your ears, and I'll put
1:18
them back in just so you can sort of get the sense of what they do. So I going to get two and a half to two and a half hours out of these And then I can put them back in the case and I can charge them up five times because this has an additional considerably bigger battery and that means
1:36
I'm getting somewhere around 10 hours of play time with these as long as I occasionally put
1:41
them in here and frankly this is where you're going to store them anyway so if you're on a 10
1:45
hour hike on the Appalachian Trail then this probably isn't going to be a great solution for
1:50
you, but if you're going for like a 30 to 60 minute walk or bike ride every day and you want
1:55
to just keep charging it with these, then you could literally charge this once a week. Now
2:00
the microphone that's built in, and this is important, it actually comes with a 6.0 CVC
2:06
noise cancellation. So what that means is that as I'm talking, the environmental noise around me
2:13
is being canceled out. So the person on the other end actually doesn't have to hear all of that
2:17
Now, I've tested this out on some phone calls, and people have actually said that it sounded surprisingly good to them
2:23
They were really impressed that it was just these hands-free wireless earbuds
2:27
And that's nice, because a lot of the wireless AirBud-style devices that I've tested out have done pretty poorly in comparison to the Apple AirPods
2:37
Now, speaking of comparison, I just happen to have a pair of Apple AirPods
2:42
And you can see it's smaller, and the AirPods themselves are, you know, not a lot smaller
2:52
but they're a little bit smaller. You can see in this close that the size comparison is pretty close The Apple ones are just a little more sleek Now the big thing about the Apple is that they have as far as I know microphones at the bottom So
3:06
when I'm wearing my AirPods, then the microphone is picking up what I'm saying. So, that's going
3:13
to work really well. They also have a sensitivity to whether they're in your ear or not. So
3:18
when I put it in my ear, it automatically paired. And when I took it out, it automatically unpaired
3:23
So again, just like the Jakku, I put the AirPods in their case
3:28
There's a little green light. I close it up. I'm charging. So clearly inspired by the Apple design
3:35
But why not? The Apple design's a great success. The thing with Apple, as always, is that they're really expensive
3:42
Now, the controls with this are a little funky, too, because there's actually a little on-off
3:47
button on the back. So that's how you have to turn it on and off. but it actually gives you a lot of controls. So you can use power on and off, pause, play
3:56
next song. You can answer phone calls. You can hang up phone calls. You can even reject a phone
4:01
call that comes in all with that one little button, just depending on how long you push it
4:07
So that takes a little getting used to. Frankly, for me, I just use my phone for most of those
4:12
controls. But I have to say the audio quality on these Jakus are really quite good. I'm really
4:19
impressed with these. And, you know, in a loud, noisy environment, they're not going to work
4:23
really great But for most environments these might be really nice choices for you for something like sitting at work or in the library at school or something So only other thing I want to tell you is they
4:35
come with a one-year warranty. So, if you try them and they're not your favorites, that's okay
4:40
or something happens to them, they got you covered. And let's see, before we get to the price, let me
4:45
just ask if you can go ahead and click on that subscribe button. Really appreciate if you could
4:49
do that and thumbs up if this is beneficial. Now, the price. Let's talk about this. So their
4:56
manufacturer suggested retail price on these is $199. Now, no one's going to spend $199 on these
5:03
So on Amazon, when I got them, they were $89.99. But when I just checked, they're actually down to
5:10
$79.99. So Jakku T7 wireless earbuds, $79.99 at amazon.com. And they are a pretty good
5:19
alternative, particularly if you're not a fan of Apple and you don't like giving the money
5:23
if you don't want to go and buy the $150 Apple AirPods, these $79 alternatives are surprisingly
5:30
decent choice. So, Steve Taylor, I'm getting back to my music and I'll catch you in the next video
