You'll have much cleaner air with this air purifier. Let's check it out
0:11
Dave Taylor here and I'm checking out this. This is the WBM Smart HEPA air purifier. It's pretty
0:18
nice. One of the things I really like about it is it's really quiet. In its quietest mode it's 25
0:24
decibels, which means you're probably not going to be able to hear it even if you're in a quiet
0:29
house. But if you're in a house where there's noise at night you're not going to hear anything
0:33
It's going to just chug along doing its own thing. Now it has a whole indicator system on the top
0:40
Here's a close-up for you. But the most important button is on and off. So let's turn this on and
0:47
as with many of these devices it turns on and immediately goes to the highest motor or highest
0:52
fan setting and then it drops back down. So this defaults to sleep mode and I have my custom air
1:01
circulation test device. So let's see what this looks like. So here you can get a sense of
1:08
this is the lowest mode and this is the quietest mode. So this is sleep mode
1:15
It's pretty darn quiet. And then I can tap the speed button and that gets me a little faster
1:22
Air is moving a little bit faster. But then you get to the highest mode
1:27
and this thing's pushing out some air as you can see here with my visual indicator, right
1:33
So let's talk about this. Right now at its maximum setting it has what's known as a CADR of 68 meters
1:41
an hour. And what that means is it's a clean air delivery rate. And I actually prefer cubic feet
1:47
per minute CFM and it's 40 CFM. What this means is that this has plenty of power to pull through
1:55
and filter air from even a very large room or you know a house with multiple rooms. But if you have
2:02
an office, if you have a home office, if you have a dorm room, this is perfect. It's a good size and
2:09
it just chugs along. Now one of the other things on the top is it has a filter replacement indicator
2:15
and I have a spare filter. We'll talk about that in just a second. But you should have to replace
2:20
the filter probably every six to eight months. And my personal experience with these is if you
2:26
actually give it some maintenance more frequently, like using your vacuum, you can vacuum your filter
2:32
and that'll help it actually last longer. But every so often you definitely want to replace it
2:38
And I'll talk about the price of replacement filters too in just a minute. Now the other thing
2:44
on the top is there's an LED and let me just show you here. So that gives you a nightlight
2:50
or a bright nightlight or what I like you can turn it off. Now for people that are really
2:57
light phobic at night, note that you cannot turn off the power and the speed lights but they're
3:04
very faint. So I would guess that in a completely pitch dark room because of this angle you wouldn't
3:10
even see it. But if you had it on the floor and you were laying right next to it looking down
3:16
you might see a little blue glow. I know some people really want their rooms to be completely
3:21
dark. All right the other button you have there is a lock button. If you don't want little hands
3:26
changing settings you can do that. So three speed settings, LED nightlight you can turn into
3:33
dim or bright or off completely and this will remove 99% of airborne particulates and bacteria
3:44
So that's pretty nice and the way it works is it's a three stage filter. So there is the, let me just
3:52
catch my notes here, I guess I didn't write that. So there actually there's a pre-filter
3:58
there's the actual HEPA filter and there's an activated carbon filter. So you know the air just
4:04
sort of goes through here and comes out here and all the particulate matter is caught in the filter
4:12
So you're thinking where is that filter? Well let's flip it upside down and have a look
4:17
So one of the things that's always really challenging with these is where is stuff right
4:22
Where is everything hidden? And it turns out the bottom actually unscrews, let me get it in the right
4:28
direction, well maybe it goes this way, no one of these ways, there we go. It unscrews and it takes
4:36
obviously a little bit of force and then you lift it off and then here's our filter. So this filter
4:44
will last six to eight months, possibly a year. All you have to do is put it in there, put the
4:50
cap on it, let's see we just need to get it in the right position and then turn it till it clicks
4:56
and we're ready to go. That's all it takes, easy enough. It does require being plugged in, you can
5:02
see it has a reasonably long cord, it's not a super long cord but I think that'll work fine for you
5:09
That's certainly enough if you get an extension cord as I have. And so then the filters, now
5:17
actually let me give you the dimensions first. So this is 12.8 inches tall and it is 7.2 inches
5:26
across, obviously it's circular so that's the same in any direction, you know how circles work right
5:32
And it's five pounds so it's pretty light, it's not super light but I'm pretty sure that even
5:39
grandma could pick it up and move it around if grandma needs to put it into a different room
5:44
And these replacement air filters, this is the AR04F in case you need to know that
5:50
are 39 bucks a unit on amazon.com so it's not a bad price to pay 40 bucks approximately a year
6:00
to have really good clean air, especially nowadays you want to just get your air as clean as possible
6:06
so that your lungs have to do the least amount of work, that's just good thinking right? So how much
6:11
does this cost? Well hang on before we get there I'm going to ask if you could subscribe to my
6:16
channel, I really appreciate when you subscribe, it's just a click or a tap on that little red
6:21
button on the lower right and we're connected. Great, all right this is the WBM Smart HEPA
6:29
air purifier and it's $81.35 but when I looked on Amazon it's down to $65.99 which is a pretty
6:37
sweet deal and here's what's funny is it's $65.99 for the white version but if you want the black
6:43
version of this beautiful air purifier that's $99.99 so is it worth 34 bucks for you to get
6:51
the other color? That's up to you, me I don't really care I'm going to put this behind my bed
6:56
and let it clean the air in my bedroom because I don't want any garbage in my air and there's
7:02
particulate matter everywhere so make your indoor air healthier and cleaner than your outdoor air
7:08
with something like this. There are lots of air purifiers out there, get one it'll make you feel
7:13
better, it's better if you have allergies, it's better if you like are reacting to dander or
7:18
something, all of that's a win with one of these. So check it out, I'm going to turn it back on
7:23
let's get it back to top speed, let's get that LED on bright, isn't that cheery, look at that bright
7:29
color and with that I'm going to breathe that fresh air, breathe that fresh air and catch you in my next video
7:59
