Affordable earbuds with ANC. Let's check these out
0:10
Dave Taylor here. Oh, hang on. Dave Taylor here. And I'm checking out these. These are the tri-bit flybuds NC
0:20
And these are highly affordable earbuds with active noise canceling. So put it back in their case and they'll charge. You can see they'll charge. You can see they
0:30
fit in their case magnetically. It's a cute little round case. It doesn't have a lot of charging
0:35
on it. We'll come back to the battery in a minute, but it does the job. And on the front, you get an
0:41
LED that shows the battery charge when you first close it. It will give you some lights to show
0:47
how many out of four lights. And now it's just flashing the two edge ones saying that both units
0:53
are charging. So the earbuds themselves actually can work individually, which is great. And
0:59
They feature a 10 millimeter driver, and it's a little confusing with the ANC because you have to actually use the right ear to do it
1:09
though the manual says you should use the left ear to turn on ANC
1:13
So they have the three modes very much like the Apple AirPods Pro, which clearly they're aiming at with their marketing
1:20
So the idea is that you have ANC, you have sort of talk-through mode, which is one where you can hear more of your environmental sound
1:30
And then you have all the ANC off. So basically, here's how it works
1:33
I put it in my ear, and then I tap and hold
1:38
and every two seconds it will cycle to the next ANC setting
1:43
Now, this is one of these earbuds where they are super sensitive touch panels on the ends
1:51
So I found that actually kind of annoying, if I would go to adjust it to make it to go a little more in my ear
1:57
I would accidentally tap it and end up be talking to Siri. So not really what I wanted
2:03
And here's a little chart of all the different tap sequences. Generally speaking, I have to say
2:09
I kind of prefer just using my source device, my phone, my computer, whatever it is
2:14
to control the music and volume and stuff. But it is nice to be able to tap to pause and then tap to play again So the ANC they say can reduce noise up to 30 decibels I don know that it that good
2:29
It's decent ANC. And if you're in a very noisy environment, it will definitely help
2:34
And you will hear significantly hear the difference. But I don't know that it's like best in class for its price range
2:42
Still, if you've never experienced ANC, then you will be in for quite a shock
2:48
because it is remarkable how this technology lets them take a lot of that ambient environmental noise
2:54
particularly like low frequency and high frequency noise. So the hiss of an air conditioner, the low thrum of, say, a train if you're on a commute or something
3:06
And of course, airplanes are the key space for this. If you're flying, ANC is your best friend because all that super loud humming and vibration and noise from the engines
3:18
all of that can just go away. Now, I didn't try these on an airplane
3:22
but I'm confident that the ANC they have will make a significant difference for you, which is great
3:28
Now, let's talk batteries. As you can see, they are pretty big
3:32
The central part of the earbud is fairly large. They're comfortable and they're light
3:37
so don't worry about that, but that's giving you a lot of battery life. So these give you 10 hours of playback without ANC
3:46
turn on ANC and it takes a little bit more power so that gets you down to eight hours
3:51
And then you can put them into the charging case and you get two more charges out of the case
3:57
And obviously you also get the ability to have it be safe and portable
4:01
And then when the charging case needs charging, you have USBC on the back and in the box is a USBC cable
4:08
I'll show you that in a second. And if you're really just run out of sound and run out of battery and you really are desperate
4:16
If you put them in, they say that 10 minutes in here will give you an hour and a half of playback listening
4:25
Now, even as I did that, I touched it, and Siri is now on on my phone, which is annoying, right
4:32
So those back touch panels are very sensitive, so you'll want to know that
4:38
Now Bluetooth 5 IPX4 water resistant the earbuds so you can wear them when you on a sweaty workout or if you want to go for a bike ride in the rain go for it These will be able to handle that in the box
4:51
And this is almost this puzzle box where there's so many layers and levels
4:57
So, manual. And then they have in a smaller container, a lot of packaging here
5:06
And a smaller container is USBC to USB3 for charging. and then underneath that is a tray that has five different sizes of ear tips
5:17
Now, if you're looking at this close-up and you're counting, you're saying, dude, that's four different sizes
5:23
That's because the fifth one's on the earbuds, right? So it's five different sizes
5:28
As with all of these, it's really important to take the time to find the right fit
5:33
So try different sizes to get the ones that are the perfect match for your ears
5:38
It makes a significant difference. There's no measurable latency. So if you want to like, say, pair these with your computer and watch Netflix, you're good
5:47
You're not going to have any sort of weird out-of-sync problems. And voice quality is worth mentioning
5:52
It's really good, actually. So, you know, these are the design like the Apple AirPods where they do extend out
6:02
So there is, she's talking to me. So the microphone's a little closer than if it's just an earbud by itself
6:10
And that makes a difference. These actually do a nice job with your voice. So these are good for phone calls. They obviously, if you pair them with your computer, they could be good for like Zoom calls or Skype or Microsoft meeting, whatever. So props to them for the voice quality. And so we need to talk about the sound. And the sound is quite good, actually. So there's a rich full sound here. There's not a lot of sound stage as the audio files
6:40
would say. So it's not, you know, these are not going to confuse you and say, wow, are these
6:45
those $700 headphones I just bought? No. But for the price and for the form factor, these are
6:52
entirely listenable and quite enjoyable. So I was listening to the Lita Horn Soundbook just to
6:58
mix it up a little bit and really nice clean clear precise sound nice highs the piano sounded beautiful Of course her voice always sounds beautiful but it sounded really good And there was a nice bass there So it wasn like that disco bass where they pump it up so much it not listenable You might still fiddle with the EQ on your source device to get it to match your listening preferences but entirely enjoyable listening experience So all in all I have to say I like these These again you know my biggest complaint with these
7:34
is that the back touch sensor is probably overly sensitive, and that's a little annoying that every time you do anything
7:42
any time you touch them, you've probably triggered some event, and you'll have to wait a couple of seconds for that to stop
7:49
On the other hand, they instantly pair, they instantly turn on, and I am right now, listening to some very nice music
7:57
What is this? This is, okay, falling in love by Howard Shore, off of
8:04
from some album or the other. I don't know. Anyway, lots to like about these
8:10
The design's a little clunky, a little clumsy, but, you know, whatever
8:15
They're in your ears. Do you really matter? You know, do you really care that much about them? So lots to check out
8:20
The only thing let's talk about is the price, but before we get to the price, let me ask if you can subscribe to my channel
8:26
I really appreciate when you do that. It's just a tap or a click on that little red subscribe button
8:30
Great. Now, these are the tri-bit flybuds nc. I don't know why they didn't call them fly-buds A-N-C, B that as it may
8:40
Tri-bit fly-buds NC 59-99 at Amazon.com, but right now I actually looked on Amazon and there's a $10 coupon you can apply, making them $49-9-9 or $50 straight up
8:53
And for $50, these are a solid option. Definitely worth checking out
8:58
That's all I got. I'm going to go back to listening to Howard Shore. and that means there we go that means I'll catch you in my next video
