You probably didn't realize it, but you really need a big, bright panel to illuminate your house or light up your next party! That's what the extraoirdinarily bright Sansi SGLEDs 70W RGB LED Floodlight aims to deliver. 70W LED, remember, is the equivalent of 500W on an incandescent light, a remarkable 7000 lumens. Don't look at this when it's on! 16 colors, 4 lighting modes, and it's IP66 outdoor weatherproof too.
Tech expert Dave Taylor of https://www.AskDaveTaylor.com/ checks out the Sansi RGB LED floodlight and finds that it's a really smart solution for this particular niche but dangerously bright for the little ones. So make sure you always point it _away_ from people!

Mood lighting for your house? Let's check this floodlight out
0:03
Dave Taylor here and I'm sitting outside because I'm going to show you this and it's a little bright to be using indoors
0:17
This panel with all these bulbs is the Sansi SG LEDS 70 watt RGB LED floodlight
0:25
It's a lot of acronyms but it's a really cool device. You see it's thick, it's substantial, it's well made
0:31
There's a lot of thought put to heat dissipation and ventilation. I don't know if you can tell from there but there's nothing enclosed about it. It's basically all open
0:40
It comes with about a three foot cord. It doesn't need a ground which is a little bit of a surprise
0:45
So it's just a two pronger and it gets up to 500 watts of equivalent brightness which is 7,000 lumens
0:53
That is way too bright to look at so don't be staring at this thing when you turn it on
0:57
Having said that, why don't you look at it while I turn it on
1:02
So there it is. I'll turn it on, we'll get to white and now there's a remote control that's included
1:09
The remote control as you can see in this little cutaway has a lot of features for something that's just controlling a light bulb
1:15
In fact, I think there are buttons that don't do anything but the buttons that do something do something cool
1:20
So let's start with red and green and blue. Those are just the three primary colors
1:29
And then on the bottom there's a dozen colors that are preset
1:33
So for example, maybe we want orange because we're doing a Halloween and we want to have orange house. How cool is that
1:40
Or maybe you prefer purple. Or let's see, let's do navy which isn't quite the same as blue
1:49
And finally, let's do lime. I kind of like the primaries but you know, you can pick your favorite color
1:56
You can also go through, there are four different modes. So let's do strobe
2:01
Strobe. There we go. So strobe is pretty intense. And you can of course pick a color to have it strobe
2:13
And well, maybe you can't pick a color. Maybe it's just white. So let's see, flash
2:19
So flash is kind of fun. This is obviously a great party light too
2:23
But again, don't point it at people. Point it at the wall. In fact, you could probably lay this down and have it pointing upward and that'd be a really striking lighting effect
2:32
And here's fade which is a little bit more subtle. And then even more subtle is smooth. Get that? Smooth
2:44
Now I know this is really wigging out my camera. So it goes. So let's just go back to white
2:52
And then you can see I can turn up the brightness which gets pretty darn bright
2:58
Or I can just turn it down which does a whole lot better things for my camera and for you watching this
3:04
You can turn it on and off, obviously remotely. And it does come with this rather inexplicable little device that I'm pretty confident has something to do with doing a wall mount
3:14
Though to be entirely honest, I don't see where it would connect to for that mount
3:20
Because there's no obvious like mounting hole. Well I guess there is on this, on the bracket
3:26
So I think that's how this works is you would put this on the bracket and then you could mount it onto the wall
3:31
Perhaps there's an additional piece you can purchase. But with the stand as you can see, you can fold it up and you can have it straight up if you were so inclined
3:40
Again that's a very striking lighting pattern to have it running up the face of your house exterior or something
3:47
Or you can tilt it to any one of the angles that you would prefer
3:51
Easy enough. So let's see. Let's run through the features real quick. So it is 16 colors, 4 modes, has a really smart heat dissipation design
4:00
50,000 hour lifespan because of that heat dissipation. And they're also using a plastic frame
4:05
So this looks metal but it's really all plastic and that turns out to be really beneficial
4:10
Because there's no cracking, there's no rust, there's no moisture issues with the bulbs themselves
4:16
That's how they get that 50,000 hours. Smart. Now the remote control works from 20 to 30 feet
4:23
And you can see here on the front, pretty sure that's the sensor that's receiving the remote signal
4:28
So depending on how you have it oriented, you might be able to be from super far away
4:33
Or it might be the case that you need to sort of point it at the remote or at that little sensor there to get it to work
4:40
12 preset colors. It does require two AAA batteries that were not included
4:45
But seriously, what is that like a buck over at the supermarket? Not a big deal
4:50
It is a pretty substantial height and weight. It's 9 inches by 9 inches by, they say 3 1⁄2 inches thick
4:58
I'm not buying that. I don't think that's 3 1⁄2 inches in thickness
5:02
That's maybe 2 inches. But maybe they're accounting for the fact that the power comes out directly rather than at an angle or from the side
5:11
And it's 3 pounds. So again, it's a pretty substantial weight. This could also be an amazing shop light because you can have this from the ceiling pointing down at your workspace
5:21
And now you have a control that lets you fine tune exactly how much illumination you want
5:26
Maybe, you know, not sure you'd be using the strobe light with green
5:30
But who knows? Maybe that's your thing. In any case, also includes a five-year warranty. Pretty nice
5:37
So all that's left to talk about is the price. I got to say, like I said, there's a lot I like about this
5:43
I don't know that I'm going to illuminate the exterior of my house because I feel like that's a little invasive for my neighbors
5:48
But when it's the holidays, I guess people do put up a lot of Christmas lights and Halloween decorations
5:53
So this is a similar sort of idea. Maybe I will give it a try. Why not, right
5:57
So easy enough. You just run the cord. You have the remote. You can turn it on and off
6:02
Super straightforward. Now, okay. Now, left is the price. But before we get there, let me ask if you can subscribe to my channel
6:10
Give me some feedback. Tell me in a comment. Do you use this sort of lighting on your house
6:14
Or where else could you imagine this would be really helpful? So, cool. This is the Sansi SG LEDS 70 Watt RGB LED Floodlight
6:24
Also comes in smaller variations with less bulbs. But this particular one with the 12 bulbs is $69.99 at Amazon.com
6:33
And I say if you have a need for outdoor lighting, this is a very smart design and definitely one worth checking out
6:39
So with that, I think I'm going to turn it back on. And I'm going to go back to having that smooth transition
6:46
Which means I'll catch you in my next video. Don't forget to subscribe to my channel
