A MagSafe selfie stick and tripod? Let's check this out
0:04
[♪ Music ♪ Dave Taylor here, and I'm checking out this
0:14
This is the Omaton OMAG MagSafe phone tripod, and as you can see, it's a pretty cool, versatile little device
0:22
Now, the way I have it set up here is at its minimum extension
0:26
but it is a telescoping pole, so it gets pretty darn high
0:31
In fact, my camera is now way off other camera. So, I'll pull this back down
0:38
But this part is a 64 extensible telescoping pole with 7 sections
0:44
so you can get it from this height all the way to where it's actually standing up
0:49
and high enough that it's at eye level for you. This gives you huge flexibility with vlogging or TikTok
0:56
or any other motion or image capture that you want. Now, one of the other cool things is it has hidden on one of its legs
1:04
a Bluetooth remote control. So, all I have to do is push the button, and it's taking a picture
1:11
Or, in video mode, it'll alternate between starting and stopping your video
1:16
This is hugely flexible, and this is Bluetooth. It works up to 35 feet away, and it's iPhone and Android compatible
1:25
But I want to say this device is primarily designed for iPhones
1:30
because it is MagSafe, but if you don't have a MagSafe phone
1:35
or you don't have a MagSafe case for your phone, then it does come with some metal rings that have an adhesive on them
1:42
so you can put them on your case or on the back of your other phone to make it work
1:47
Now, here's an important tip, is that the actual mount has three little buttons around the side
1:54
And what you want to do to take your phone off is you want to push one of the buttons
1:58
and then tilt your phone as you take it off. And it's as easy as that
2:03
Now, you can fold this back up. You can obviously angle it like this, and I can use this for selfies
2:10
In fact, let's go outside. And first off, here's a selfie picture
2:14
But here's also some videos that I took. So this is a demonstration of me using the selfie stick with video
2:21
It's a little tricky to hold it perfectly still, but of course you can use the tripod for that
2:27
I am using the remote control for starting and stopping the video, however
2:31
and that's pretty convenient. For this demo, I have the unit in tripod mode, and it works perfectly well
2:38
You can see it's pretty stable once it settles down. It is a little wobbly, so in high winds
2:45
this probably isn't going to work very well, particularly if you have it fully extended, as I do
2:51
Want to use tripod mode for your next great TikTok? As you can see, it works really well, particularly indoors
2:58
because if you're outdoors and it's really windy, then it's going to be a little wobbly, but indoors it works great
3:05
Ultimately, it's a pretty straightforward device, but I like that it gives you some good flexibility and lots of different options
3:13
It is a little bit wobbly when you have it fully extended on its tripod
3:18
so that's something where you'll want to experiment and figure out the optimal height to get the stability you want
3:25
but as I noted, if you're indoors, that's not a big deal
3:29
It's really if you're outdoors and it's a breezy day, that could cause a little bit of camera motion
3:35
but the flip side is that this whole thing is so incredibly portable and super light
3:40
It's all plastic, so it's definitely not going to be able to handle being an emergency jack for your car
3:46
It's not tough, it's not strong, it's not made out of carbon steel or anything like that
3:51
but if you want something that's super lightweight and highly portable, this is literally under 16 ounces, and when it's fully folded up
4:00
as you can see, it is... Let me take my phone off of here by pushing a button and tilting it
4:07
you can see that's pretty easy to slip into your bag, your overnight bag, your suitcase
4:13
and you are good to go, or you can just carry it. It's so light, it's really easy to work with
4:18
Now, let's see. I talked about MagSafe. Let me just say that that's generally the iPhone 12 to the iPhone 15 line
4:26
and I have a MagSafe case, which is why that circle and the dash are reinforced there
4:32
This is the best possible situation because the case protects my expensive phone
4:37
and it's still MagSafe-friendly, which makes it work the best it can
4:41
with this particular MagSafe phone tripod. Again, if you don't have that, they do include some adhesive metal rings
4:49
which will very elegantly solve the problem. That's really everything. You got the demo
4:55
I talked about all the different ways you can use it. It's really a simple, elegant, and affordable solution for this particular problem
5:02
so hope you check it out. Now, we do need to talk also about the price
5:08
Let me just get this thing set up one more time. I should say that sometimes I find pulling the legs out of the base a little tricky
5:17
so I've found that some of them are a little bit harder than others to get the first one out
5:22
Obviously, once you pull one out, the rest of them are going to come out automatically
5:26
but just have a little patience and know that all you have to do is sort of spread it out
5:31
and then it gets stable all by itself. That Bluetooth control, let's see, make sure I have it oriented correctly
5:38
You just slip it in, and it stays in, and it stays in
5:42
It's not going to fall out, which is nice. So, let's see
5:46
Before we talk about the price, I'm going to invite you to subscribe to my channel
5:50
A click or a tap on that subscribe button, and we're connected
5:54
Now, this is the Omaton OMAG MagSafe phone tripod, and it's normally $99.99, currently discounted down to $59.99
6:06
and as I record this video, there's an additional $5 coupon, dropping it down to $54.99
6:12
That's not a bad price at all for a selfie stick with this much versatility
6:17
and this really very nice Bluetooth control, and most importantly, this MagSafe Plus suction mount system with its 360-degree rotation
6:28
It's super flexible. It's really easy to work with, and again, that's it
6:35
That's all I've got to do, and now I'm ready to go. So, definitely one worth checking out at Amazon.com, as are so many of these products
6:43
Definitely worth checking out for yourself. That's all I got, so I'll catch you in my next video
