Cute little true wireless stereo earbuds featuring good battery life, great usability and really good sound. So what's the issue with the Miracase 2020 Wireless Earbuds? As tech expert Dave Taylor of https://www.AskDaveTaylor.com/ demonstrates, there's a design hiccup that affects their use as sports buds. It might not matter to you but if you prefer using earhooks, you'll definitely want to watch this video before you buy a pair from Miracase to learn what doesn't quite work correctly.

Little earbuds with big sound, but there's an issue. Let's check it out
0:11
Dave Taylor here and I'm checking out these. These are the Miracase wireless earbuds for 2020
0:17
and they're pretty nice. There's a couple little hiccups you'll want to know about, but all in all
0:22
these are a pretty solid option for you for true wireless stereo. Now they feature 13 millimeter
0:29
titanium drivers and you can see the design is definitely inspired by Apple AirPods and similar
0:35
However, these actually are a little bit more Android friendly than iPhone friendly because
0:40
they have aptX from Qualcomm, which is great for things like this Google Pixel 5, but AAC
0:48
which is the preferred codec for iPhones, is not included. Now they'll still work fine with
0:54
iPhones and in fact I was enjoying them with my iPhone 12 Pro, but AAC really gives you the best
1:00
possible result. Then again at the price point they are entirely listenable and they sound really
1:06
good. Welcome back to that. Now in terms of using these for phone calls they feature a four microphone
1:13
CVC 8.0 noise reduction system, which is actually pretty slick. So there's a microphone on the top
1:19
and another microphone on the bottom on both ears. So the system can cancel out a lot of background
1:26
noise and still have you on the phone able to talk to the other person. Welcome back to how that
1:31
worked. Bluetooth 5.0 with crazy range. I was walking probably like 20-25 feet away from my
1:39
source device and they worked flawlessly without a hiccup, without a glitch. Amazing actually
1:46
IPX5 lets you actually sweat on them or have them fall into your bowl of soup. Not recommended
1:52
but they will come out. You can rinse them off and they will be fine. And they do have touch
1:58
controls and it's a different touch control on the left versus right ear as you can see in this chart
2:04
What I really like is the ability to have volume up and volume down on the earbuds. So if my source
2:09
device happens to be a few feet away I can still lower the volume or increase the volume if I
2:15
really want to have it jamming and that's really nice. It also works with one earbud in the other
2:21
earbud charging or vice versa. Obviously you can have both of them in and get full stereo, but you
2:26
can also go into a mono mode where you could give one earbud to a friend and then each of you are
2:32
listening to the exact same audio. Now that's different from you know giving one of the earbuds
2:38
to someone in stereo mode because they only get left channel but not right and you only get right
2:43
channel but not left. By going into mono mode you actually get all the music or all the audio or all
2:49
the podcast you know out of both earbuds. So that can be helpful. In terms of battery life, seven
2:56
hours depending on volume as always. Then you get three more charges in the case and this is a really
3:03
nice light tiny little case. You can see it's really small and it gives you a total of 30 hours of play
3:09
time and if you're in a pinch 10 minutes in the case gives you another hour of listening and one
3:15
of the things I have to compliment them on is these nice bright led lights in the front. There's
3:20
four lights that make it ridiculously easy for you to see how much charge you have and it also gives
3:27
you confirmation. Let me put this one in and so now we see that there's four lights and that shows
3:33
me that the case is fully charged and now it's just the outer two lights flashing and I know it's
3:39
probably a little hard for you to see. The outer two lights flashing mean that the earbuds themselves
3:45
are charging correctly so that's cool. You charge it via USB-C on the bottom and it does come with a
3:52
USB-C charging cable although you probably have one around somewhere in your house and they did
3:58
one thing kind of funny so it hinges this way but the company name is on the back. I think they
4:04
probably meant to put that on the front as a guess but be that as it may that's pretty much it. Now
4:12
they come with two you know it's supposed to support two different modes so there's leisurely
4:18
listening and sports listening and for sports listening you have these little ear tip covers
4:25
that include a hook and the idea is they will more firmly fit into your ear but the real
4:33
fundamental problem with that design is that when you put the ear tip on and I'm not a fan of ear
4:42
hooks anyway but when you put the ear tip on and you put it back into charge you find out that
4:46
there's an issue. You not only can't close it but you can't even charge it with these covers on
4:52
which means if you're going to use them you're going to be taking them on and off a lot and the
4:57
fact that you can't just leave them on and have the units charge means to me that unless it's an
5:03
exceptional situation you're going to just use them naked like this right with no cover. So then
5:09
the question is do they stay in your ears and the answer is yeah pretty well actually. I was
5:15
initially hesitant because they felt like they wouldn't fit in securely but when I put them in
5:21
and then walked around and jogged around and jumped and shook my head and stuff they did stay
5:26
in really well so props to them for that but the fact that they show you that you can get them with
5:32
you know the ear tips and you can use the ear tips in two different sizes small or large
5:37
is I think a bit of a misnomer because you really aren't going to be leaving them on
5:41
because otherwise they're going to run out of charge after seven hours and you're in a pickle
5:46
So that is something I think really important to know. Now let's see let me put this back in
5:51
and in terms of what's in the box like I said there is the USB-C to USB 3 charging cable
5:59
and then there are the large and small rubber or silicone whatever the heck they are ear tips
6:05
and there's instructions here they are the instructions are actually pretty well written
6:11
perhaps somewhat atypically for this category and so it really comes down to this to the little case
6:16
and to the little ear tips and or earbuds and the question is how do they sound and the answer is
6:22
pretty darn good actually I have to say I put these in and then this time I thought I would
6:28
listen to some Owl City right how long was the last time you heard about Owl City right and
6:33
turns out it has sounded really good now Adam who does Owl City has done a great job with doing
6:39
full lush music with a really big bass sound depending on the song and you know when you
6:46
listen to stuff like Fireflies or something then this just sounded really good I was very impressed
6:52
with those so audio much to like about it good sound stage full rich sound surprising bass actually
7:01
so two more questions then one number one what about those phone calls and the answer is
7:07
fair to Midland I have just you know every unit I try all the true wireless stereo they sound at
7:14
best okay and these are in that okay range I it's you know simulated a loud sports stadium by
7:21
turning my television up really loud and then made a phone call and the person couldn't hear the
7:26
background which was great that's that CVC 8.0 coming in but the problem is they couldn't hear
7:32
me very well either so that was sort of a bit of a trade-off there so I would say they're functional
7:39
for phone calls but odds are if you're going to be making a long call with these in your ears
7:45
then you're going to have to crank up your personal volume just a little bit so the other person can
7:49
hear you well so it goes then the other question is what about latency so if you want to use these
7:57
and you want to watch a video or something what's it going to sound like and the answer is actually
8:01
it sounds really good and it's in sync so having high latency means that the lips are out of sync
8:08
with the audio and I watched a couple of different things and they all looked and sounded where they
8:14
were right in sync it was just really beautiful so you know that's really good so lots to like
8:20
about these I like the battery life they're really light they're really small they have a nice hand
8:26
feel they're comfortable in your ears you know lots to like as long as you don't think you're
8:32
going to be able to use these and have these and then have them sort of suddenly be sports earbuds
8:38
because they won't work these can't be on the earbuds and let you actually charge them or close
8:45
the case so I don't know why you know what they're thinking was with that design but I will also say
8:52
that this is pretty flimsy silicone and and it kind of has to be so that it's not too intrusive
8:59
on your ear but I would guess that maybe after a dozen or so on and offs you're going to end up
9:05
ripping or tearing it and you're going to say oh well there's that so but when I tell you the price
9:12
you're going to say oh I can live without these so these yeah whatever but you know the earbuds
9:18
the case everything really lots to like here so how much are they well before I tell you the price
9:24
let me ask if you can subscribe to my channel it's that red button on the lower right a tap or a click
9:30
and boom you're subscribed and I really appreciate that all right these are the Mira case wireless
9:38
earbuds and they are $45.99 but right now for the Cyber Monday promo they are down to a ridiculously
9:47
inexpensive $28.79 at amazon.com even if you don't catch that price at $45.99 they're still a good
9:56
price because these are really nice sounding earbuds with good battery life and ridiculous
10:02
range and these obviously you can see by the packaging design are going to be a really nice
10:08
stocking stuffer too if that's what you're looking for so definitely recommend these definitely do
10:14
not recommend the little ear tips but with that all in mind I hope you found this to be helpful
10:20
and honest and straightforward so that's all I got and I'll catch you in my next video
10:44
