The distinctive design and metal case highlight the appearance of the FiiTii HiFiDots ANC TWS Earbuds, but it's the sound that'll catch your attention. Featuring AptX Lossless and Adaptive, the HiFiDots also include AAC support and are completely (IPX7) waterproof. Add the slick Android and iPhone app and you have a solid competitor in the high-end ANC earbuds category. Review by tech expert Dave Taylor.

These earbuds have a distinctive design, but let's find out how they sound
0:11
Dave Taylor here, and I'm checking out these. I like opening the case. These are the Fitty, high-fi dots, true wireless stereo earbuds, and they're pretty cool
0:22
First off, the case is designed unlike any other case I've seen
0:26
it's also made out of a sort of finished metal that is really a little heavier than you expect
0:33
but a really beautiful design. It comes in this dark green. It also comes in black
0:38
So from a sort of kinesthetic experience perspective, there's a lot to like here
0:44
And they're pretty straightforward to work with. They're a little tricky to get out, which in fact they have instructions on how to take them out
0:52
But once you put them in your ear, they're paired. ready to go. It just told me that they're paired. There's an app. Now, let me tell you a little bit
1:02
about them. They feature a 10mm base driver in each one that gives you 20 to 40,000 turts
1:08
but it's actually a triple driver earbud. So it also has two balanced armature drivers, too
1:16
And they use a passive crossover tech. So there's a lot of audio technology in these units
1:21
Let me show you the close-up so you can see the design, the metal finish
1:26
Everything really cool. They are APTX lossless and adaptive and APTX HD
1:33
They also support AAC for the iPhone users in the universe out there
1:38
And at their best, they're going to give you 44 kilohertz 16-bit CD quality audio
1:45
and they actually have pretty darn nice sound. One of the other things they really like is because they're using Bluetooth 5.3
1:53
you only have a 68 millisecond lag which essentially is down to almost zero so these are great for
2:00
gaming if you want to watch videos or a movie or a streaming service or something these are great
2:06
everything will stay in sync and they also have ANC active noise cancellation one of my favorite
2:14
features I work in a lot of noisy environments and their ANC is pretty sweet because it's two
2:20
level so you can have ANC in in pass-through mode, or you can turn it on moderate
2:26
which is good for a lot of environments, or crank it all the way up to maximum ANC
2:32
and they say that gets you up to 47 decibels of noise reduction
2:36
That's a lot. These would work great on an airplane or a train commute
2:41
or any really loud environment. Multi-point connectivity. They have a three-mic environmental noise canceling system
2:49
for phone calls. I'm going to give you a demo of that in just a second
2:52
And six hours of playtime just pulled out of the case. And then the case gives you about four four and a half more charges So that gives you a total of 30 hours of playback And the case has USBC charging on the bottom
3:08
It does not do wireless charging. I do not miss it. And there is a paired apple
3:15
Get there in one more second. So, IPX-7 waterproof. And like I said, the metal case, it's three and a half ounces
3:23
it is distinctly heavier than, for example, my AirPods Pro. But I really just think that design, this is something that they would use like out of Star Wars or something
3:35
This is a very futuristic sort of thing. Now, I'm going to put these in my ears
3:40
Let's see, I think that's my right ear. And this is my left ear
3:45
And let's go ahead into the app. And let me get that all set up
3:51
and the app's a little bit picky that many of its features you can't use unless you're actually playing music
3:59
So let me get some music going here and I'll talk about the sound quality in just a second
4:08
I just want to show you the app. So here we are in the app and it should reconnect the device
4:17
Let's see, I'm not sure why it's not seeing it. Maybe it's looking for it right now
4:23
We'll hopefully get connected momentarily because I am hearing music. So obviously that part of it is working
4:31
Well, oh, there we go. Now it's connected. It just took a little while to get there
4:38
But as you can see, it shows you the battery level on both sides
4:43
And then for the ANC, they call it ambient sound. But I have mild noise reduction on right now
4:50
and I can go to transparency mode and strong noise reduction and there's a different
4:57
audio feedback on each setting which is kind of interesting you can do an
5:01
ear plug test if you want to make sure that you have the right size ear tips
5:05
and we'll look in the box in just a moment and the equalizer is a little bit low
5:11
in features there's no presets or anything but if I want more base I can just
5:16
drag it up and get a little more bass out of my music and then perhaps one of the most fun things is the lighting effects and I'm not sure you can tell but
5:26
there are three different lighting effects for the actual earbuds themselves and then if you don't want
5:34
that you can also turn it off which will extend their battery life a little bit so that's something
5:39
worth considering and then finally this shows you all of the tap sequences and there's a fair
5:46
amount to learn here but honestly if you don't want to deal with
5:50
any of that just use your device that's the source unit and you'll be fine you can
5:54
also go into settings and you can check for firmware updates and stuff that pretty much everything here so let now do a voice test So I gonna pause the music and then we go into voice
6:13
voice memos. And now what you're hearing is my voice is picked up by the Fitty Hi-Fi Dots TWS
6:25
and like I said, they're using three microphones and there's an ENC or an environmental noise cancellation system also part of this
6:34
They use a lot of Qualcomm chips and that gives them a lot of that technology
6:38
But as you can hear, the voice quality is actually pretty solid
6:42
Now let me turn off the recording and let me switch back to my regular mic
6:47
So now we're back to my regular mic and I'm going to take these out of my ears and turn
6:53
off the recording. Okay. So we've gone through all that because what we really really
6:58
really need to talk about is the sound quality. These are pretty spendy as earbuds go in the modern era
7:06
and they have really nice sound. You would hope with APTX lossless that you would be getting that
7:13
because that means that it's just able to get a really big bandwidth of music from the source device
7:19
and these deliver. So the hi-fi dots really continue Fitties sequence of devices that they've been releasing that
7:28
have really good sound. And I thought these had a really nice sound stage. They were a smidge bright
7:35
for my ears, but that's something I could tweak with the equalizer. And I was listening to some
7:40
early police. You could see that on the screen. And they just sounded really nice. There's
7:46
lots to like here. I felt like whatever kind of music I was listening to, there is bass
7:52
It's not a huge, overwhelming bass. But it's definitely there. It's definitely enjoyed
7:58
and the music just has a crispness to it that makes it really into something that's a pleasure to listen to
8:05
So lots to like here. It's a slight bit tricky getting them in and out of the case is one thing I will say
8:12
And what I've learned is if you put the stem in and then let it, oops, let's do the right side
8:18
So if you put the stem in and then it can just sort of fall backwards into the rest of it, that's the easiest way to get it to work
8:27
And then, of course, that great little closing thing. And really so much to like here
8:33
Really, really beautiful design. I think that you might be someone who's actually going to just sit here and stroke this like a worry stone
8:41
It's just a really cool material. And the way it opens is just really neat
8:47
It will catch other people's eyes. The light sequences obviously convey information
8:52
They're like glowing green right now to give me feedback on their charge level
8:56
But the idea that they can also be on while I listening that fun Whether or not you going to use that on a daily basis is up to you But there really a lot to like here Really front and center though is the really good sound quality
9:11
These are very listenable. They're very comfortable. And in the box, as I said, I would show you
9:17
It's a very nicely designed box. And it shows you right here how to take them out of the case
9:25
So they know people have some frustration with that. There's manuals. And there's another box
9:34
And in this box, just sort of push this aside, are just a couple more things you'll want to know about is a really cool color charging cable, USBC to USBC
9:47
That's just a fun cable regardless. And then it comes with three more sizes of ear tips
9:52
So in total, you have four different sizes of ear tips. And it's really important to make sure you've put
10:00
the right size tips in. If you have them and they're too small, it might be a smidge more comfortable
10:05
but you're not going to have any base at all. So if you get these and you're auditioning them and
10:10
you're saying not a lot of low range, then try larger ear tips. Because the better they can seal
10:15
your ear c without being too big, then the better audio response you're going to get
10:20
So that's pretty much what I got. I think these are definitely ones worth checking out
10:26
But let's talk about the price too, because they are a little spendy
10:30
Now, before we get to the price, I'm going to invite you to subscribe to my channel
10:34
Go ahead and click or tap on that subscribe button. Go ahead and give me a thumbs up or a like if you found this review helpful
10:40
I hope you did. If you didn't, leave me a comment and tell me what you wish I would have done or shown or said or demonstrated
10:47
Okay, these are the Fitty, hi-fi, dots, TWS earbuds. They come in black or green
10:56
This, I would like to think you can tell, are green. and they are $1.99, $190, currently minus a $40 coupon at Amazon.com
11:07
I think these are a solid choice if you have the budget for something that's at this range
11:12
And these are in the ballpark of like the AirPods Pro and, you know, other high-end ANC earbuds
11:19
So they're not out of control at $159, but they are more spending than some of the other options out there
11:26
But, man, I love the design. I love the materials they've used
11:31
I love the way it opens. All of that is just really fantastic
11:35
These are definitely ones to look for. That's all I got. I'm going to go back to my early police because I like it
11:42
And that means I'll have to catch you in my next video
