Looking for some true wireless stereo earbuds that look as good as they sound and come in more colors than (yawn) white? Tech expert Dave Taylor of https://www.AskDaveTaylor.com/ checks out the 1MORE "Stylish" TWS In-Ear Headphones and finds that there's really quite a lot to like. There are a couple of gotchas, however, so you'll want to get the full story before making a purchase decision!

Great sound and cool colors? Let's check this out
0:11
I'm Dave Taylor here and I'm checking these out. Let me pop these open. These are the 1More Stylish TWS or True Wireless Stereo in-ear headphones and they're very cool
0:23
Now, I have to admit up front, I'm a little biased for 1More because I really like their products
0:28
Everything I've ever got from them has really good sound and these are also really nice sounding
0:34
But, let's start by talking about the little earbuds themselves. As you can see, they are very modest in size and they have very cool, it's like a metallic color on the outer part
0:47
and then the inner part is more of a pastel and very attractive
0:52
Very attractive. Comes in four different colors, so it's not just boring white or boring black
0:57
They actually have colors. Crazy, man. So, 7mm titanium composite dynamic drivers and yes, they deliver really good sound
1:09
We'll talk about sound in a minute. Bluetooth 5.0, AAC and APTX
1:15
AAC is for iOS devices, generally speaking, and APTX is for everything else
1:21
So, interestingly, your MacBook Pro has APTX, but your iPhone has AAC
1:27
I can't explain what's going on there, but either way, what that means is that if you have an Android or an iPhone
1:33
or generally a computer, you're going to get luscious, delicious, great sound out of these. Really nice
1:39
Now, they also work in stereo or solo mode and that's important
1:43
So, you can put them in and you're good to go or you can listen with just one or the other
1:49
or you can give one to a friend and the two of you could share, for example, the audio stream from a video that you're watching
1:56
And yes, they have extremely low latency, so these work just fine with audio from a video stream
2:03
Whether you are live streaming television or watching Netflix or just your favorite TikTok video
2:09
It's all going to be in sync. Now, in the box, 1More tends to do a really good, if not perhaps over-the-top engineering job with their packaging
2:18
This is no different. This is so well assembled, they have to tell you how to open it, which I thought was actually pretty funny
2:25
So, you open it up and very much the 1More style is there's some engineering sketches of this product
2:32
but then we go on the other side and open it up and it looks like I have assembled it upside down, so it should
2:39
Let's just assume it looks like this. In here, you would have the charging case and the earbuds and then you take that out
2:47
and then there is a envelope and this has a user guide in about 3 million different languages
2:53
and a product guide and a cool 1More sticker if you're into stickers
2:58
And in the box is really all the fun stuff. So, in the box, number one, you would get this stylish little carrying case
3:06
Not sure why you'd want it because this is very self-contained and because there's a button on the front
3:12
it's never going to pop open all by itself. So, you know, I don't really think you need the carrying case, but whatever
3:19
So, you have this pouch and then you open this up and it comes with a charging cable, of course
3:26
and that's micro USB and that's one of the things I don't like about this product
3:31
but we'll come back to that in a second too because I want to also show you it comes with oodles of ear tips
3:37
and what they call their o-hooks. Now, you can have your o-hooks or not. It doesn't matter. You can choose
3:45
I'm not a fan of those, but the idea is that it gives you one more thing on your earbud
3:50
which makes it that much better or easier to stay in your ear
3:55
I don't have an issue with that myself, but I will say, as I always say
4:01
is when you have multiple size ear tips, take the time to experiment
4:06
and figure out which size works best for your ear. It makes a significant difference. It's really, really important
4:13
because you will go from, why are people saying they have good bass
4:17
I don't hear anything to, oh my gosh, wow, that's a big lush sound
4:22
So, definitely worth spending the time to do that. Comes with four sizes of ear tips and four sizes of o-hooks, so you have plenty of choices there
4:31
Now, also in the bag, let's see, I guess that's it. So, we got the o-hooks, we got the tips, we got the carrying pouch
4:37
we have the charging cable, and of course, we have the earbuds themselves and their case
4:43
Now, the case is this sort of soft plastic. It has a very nice feel to it
4:48
It's almost like a little Warty Stone or something, but I'm not sure it's designed for that
4:52
But, again, like I said, one of the things I don't like about this is that they're using micro USB
4:59
and micro USB is kind of old school. I'd really like to see this upgraded to USB-C
5:05
or, you know, really almost anything else, even wireless charging, because the problem with micro USB is you got to make sure you put it in the right way or you mess up the connector
5:15
Who designed that? I mean, seriously, just stop using micro USB, please
5:20
Now, let's open them up and let me just say that they're super easy to work with
5:27
In fact, when you take them out of the package, they immediately go into pairing mode
5:33
So you open the package, you put them in your ears, you go to your phone or device, you pair them, you're good to go
5:39
It's that easy, right? So as you can see, easy to put in my ears, easy to take out
5:44
Second criticism I have is that I wish that the left and right marcation was easier to read
5:51
This is so insanely subtle that you might actually be like using a magnifying glass or a microscope to try to figure it out
5:59
You guys can do better than that. But that's all the complaint I have. Those are the only criticisms because, boy, they sound so good
6:06
These have such a good sound. But still, I want to say that there's also volume control on the earbuds
6:13
And you can see in this cheat sheet, it's a little tricky because there's a button on the top as opposed to the surface being touch sensitive
6:22
But I don't like touch sensitive surfaces because if I want to adjust my earbuds or push them in or something
6:28
suddenly I've paused my music, I've made a phone call, who knows what the heck's going on
6:32
So this design works perfectly well for me and it works, you know, I think it's actually a little easier to work with than having it be a touch sensitive surface
6:41
Now, again, it does give you lots of control. If you have a very first gen of the stylish earbuds that first came off the assembly line, you might need a firmware update
6:52
Go to OneMore.com and they have information on how to update the firmware on your stylish TWS in-ear headphones
7:02
You might want to check that out. But it's totally worth it. Even if you don't do the controls, you still want to have the latest version of the firmware
7:09
Now, the microphone for phone calls, they have a noise cancellation microphone system
7:16
So you can use obviously one or the other or both, as I said
7:21
So you can do this and use this for a phone call and it sounds pretty darn good
7:25
I mean, it's not amazing. The microphone's not in front of your mouth, so it still has to compensate for that
7:30
But entirely usable. If you want to go for a walk like this and as you're walking, you're talking to someone, it's going to work fine
7:38
You're not going to have to find that you're yelling or anything like that. Latency on video, super low
7:44
And then the only other thing I want to say before we get to sound is I want to talk about battery life
7:50
So the earbuds themselves have six and a half hours of life on a charge
7:54
If you put them in for 15 minutes, you'll get a three hour quick charge, which is super handy
7:59
And then the case gives you four more charges. So between them, you have over 24 hours of listening
8:06
And of course, if you alternate earbuds while you're charging the other one, you could do that nonstop
8:13
It's a lot of audio, but, you know, they did a really nice job
8:17
And it's so light, even with the earbuds in, that honestly, you kind of wonder whether it's an empty device and the whole thing is just a trick
8:25
Right. But you open it up and they're in there. It's really super well engineered, which brings us to the sound
8:32
And they sound terrific once you get the right size ear tips, that is
8:36
But it's a full, lush sound. There's just a lot to like. It's clear. It's crisp
8:43
I was listening to some classic jazz, Thelonious Monk and Charlie Parker, stuff like that
8:49
And man, you could hear the people breathing at the club. You could hear the drummer like picking up his sticks before he was going to do a solo or something
8:58
I mean, really, really clean, really good soundstage. You'll almost forget that you're wearing just little tiny earbuds, not like big over-the-ear headphones or something
9:08
Really, lots to like. And again, that is part of what I identify with the 1More brand, is that they have really good sound
9:16
So, only thing left to talk about then is the price. But before we get to the price, I'm going to ask if you can subscribe to my channel
9:23
Really appreciate that. And as I hope is clear, I'm really honest in my reviews
9:27
I'm going to tell you the good and the bad. And in this case, there's a lot of good
9:31
So, click on that subscribe button. Great. These beautiful little earbuds are the 1More Stylish TWS in-ear headphones
9:41
And they are available in black and gold and green and pink
9:47
And they are $89.99 at Amazon.com. Definitely worth checking out. I am very impressed, as I always am, from 1More
9:56
And once I'm done with this, I'm going to go back to listening to some music
10:00
which means I'll catch you in my next video.
