How to make an Online Quiz with Microsoft Forms

In this tutorial, we're going to use Microsoft Forms to make an online quiz

This quiz will also have a timer. So let's get started. Just open up your favorite browser and go to the address bar

In here, type forms.office.com. So this will be your welcome screen. You have templates here that you can use

But for us, we're going to start from scratch. So say new quiz

So we're going to give this quiz a name. I'll just say... We're also going to give it a description

And once we are done with the title and the description, we can change the theme of this

quiz by going to style. And here you can choose from these themes. I'll just scroll down and I'll

pick this one. And we can close the sidebar and we are ready to start making our quiz. So here we

can click on add new. Here I'm going to click on text. So we want to add a field where they can

enter their name and here we can just say write your name then this is the field where they're

going to write the name so we're not going to give it any points and this is required so once

we're done with this one we can start adding the questions here just click on add new then i'll

click on choice so that we have a multiple choice here i write my question then here i put my options so i give this a number of points which is 10 then here at the beginning i choose which

one of these is the answer so in our case it's this one and you have these other options which

you can use when necessary once this is done i'll move to the next question again i want them out

for choice question then on my options then here i'll choose which one is the answer which is this

one and you can go ahead and add as many questions as you want but for now i'll just see how this

quiz looks like so to see it you can just go here where it says preview and this is how our quiz

looks like you can just click start now there you can enter your name then you can answer it from

there and you can submit. So here take note of this message here we can edit it in the settings

I'll click on view results and here you can see the results. I'll just go back to the quiz then at

the far end here there are these three dots click on them then click on settings here you can

customize settings for your quiz so first of all set a timer so check this one and I'll just add

one minute here Then if you want you can shuffle the questions or just scroll down and I click here where it says customize the thank you message This is a message that we saw earlier on so here I just change the message to

say like that. Once you're done with the settings you can just click anywhere and these have been

applied to this one and if you are done with this quiz and you want to send it to your students or

other respondents you can just go here where it says collect responses click on it and here you

have an option to send it as a link an email a qr code or to embed it on your website you can also

send it directly on social media through facebook and twitter i'll just go back to the link and i'll

shorten it then i'll click copy so once you have copied the link you can share it to a whatsapp

group or other social media platforms i'll just open a new tab here and paste the link there

and this is what the student or respondent will see. If we click start now, it shows us that it

has a timer which we didn't see earlier on. You click start and you can see here the timer starts

counting down. Here you can put the name, then you can choose your answers from there

and you can submit the quiz. You can see now this message has been customized

it different from the one that we saw earlier on And you can view the results from here And there we have it You got this one correct and this one wrong When you go back to this page you can see here there a link to submit another response

We can go back to our quiz and go back to the settings

And when we scroll down, we can hide submit another response here

Just click on it and just click anywhere. Now when we view this one, and by the way, this shows us how our quiz is going to look

on the computer and when you change to mobile it shows how it's going to look on a mobile device

when we click start now and answer our quiz and submit you can see now that link is no longer

there here on this one we can see this link is there but here we have removed it in the settings

when you go back to your quiz you'll be able to see the responses from here if you click on them

You can see all the responses there, all the questions that have been gotten right by the students

and all of them that they have gotten wrong. And if you want to yze this data further

you can open it in Excel from here. So basically this is how you can use Microsoft

Forms to make an online quiz. I'll add more questions to this quiz and if you'd love to
