Solve the Exponential Equation 3 * 4^x + 2^x = 30 - Grade 12
Oct 3, 2022
In this video, an equation with exponential functions of different bases is solved with all detailed steps and rules of exponents used to transform the equation. The expression 4^x is first transformed as (2^2)^x = 2^(2x) = (2^x)^2, hence the exponents are written with the same base. Then the substitution u = 2^x is made and the equation is written as a quadratic equation then solved for u then u solved for x.
