All right, so, hi, Patrick Kellynne, gaming editor at AIPT
0:12
And 13 months ago, give or take, I ordered this, the Old Man, Logan, 112, Mezco Toy
0:24
And I ordered it thinking, oh, it was set for maybe a November release at that point
0:29
I was like, ah, perfect. I'll grab it, it'll be out soon
0:33
And 13 months later, here we are. So, this came in today, and I've been waiting patiently
0:40
until I had a camera person help out to record this for me as we do a quick unboxing
0:45
and a walkthrough of what my initial thoughts are of the figure
0:49
So, here we go. First and foremost, the box itself is pretty awesome, right
0:56
I do appreciate that it's yellow and brown, I think that's the greatest version of Wolverine
1:01
But on the back, it has the full breakdown of what's in here, which I've taken a picture
1:07
of so you'll actually see that below the actual video. And then as you can see, there he is
1:13
Old man Logan himself. There's the big symbol in the back of the box
1:17
I don't know if that's coming through or not. Get them to shine going
1:22
So this is actually significantly smaller than I thought these were. I've actually never seen one of these 112s in person
1:27
I was expecting something like this big, like old school G.I. Joe
1:33
But this is actually much more manageable considering how much more I have in my house
1:37
So, let's pop this guy up. This is a good clamshell display
1:44
You could essentially, this is understandably made for the people who do not want to take
1:49
their stuff on the box, which I just don't understand. So there's a little piece of paper
1:56
here, essentially just telling more about the 112 collective, designed by collectors
2:03
for collectors. Great. All right, let's rip this thing apart. So the way it's broken
2:09
down is apparently the box itself is three layers, right? And the back layer comes off
2:17
and has such items as the stand. Looks like this is two layers itself as well. Maybe there's four layers
2:25
So it has the stand. It's a hold old man up, right
2:32
It has this, which is a bag of some variety. I don't, I actually don't know what that's for
2:42
Maybe that's for accessories, we'll put that aside. And then we've got a bag
2:48
I assume this is his jacket. He has a trench coat. As you can see
2:55
So, let's dig in here. Little tiny leather jacket. This is actually remarkable
3:03
There's pretty small, fantastic stitching in this thing. Wow. That's kind of amazing
3:10
It's pretty well done. That's a pretty good stitch job. If you can get a quick zoom in on that. Right
3:16
That's not bad. I think the collar is pretty good, where you can see a lot of the stitching in the collar itself
3:21
I'm impressed. That's, that's... very high quality. This is not like Barbie clothes right before you put a firecracker
3:28
around. Alright let's take the big guy himself. So here is the top section of our
3:36
clamshell. And then it looks like he's wrapped. So Logan himself is wrapped up in a
3:44
little bit of plastic And there he is That pretty sick I realizing now that I essentially have his haircut which was not intentional but maybe it was intentional
4:00
A lot of articulation. It actually says on the instructions there that one thing to keep in mind with these figures is that the articulation itself is designed around the real clothing
4:13
So in some cases, you can move them past the articulation of the clothing, but not past the articulation of the figure
4:20
which is a kind of good warning to get in there. And so it looks like his head is removable
4:27
Right? He's got removable hands, because we have some spare hands in here
4:32
Everything else seems to be very well in place. Looks like the, as it says, the clothes do not come off
4:39
So that makes sense. So let's look at the other pieces. the other pieces. We'll put a little bit down. We have a cowboy hat, right? Not a fedora. We have two
4:49
clawed hands. I want you to get in here on these. The quality in these is pretty good
4:55
It's a pretty good sculpt of the claw pop, right? That mid, mid-hand claw pop that became popular
5:05
after the first X-Men movie. And then we've got two, I guess, actiony hands
5:12
Grant grasping and holding. There's not really anything else that he would be holding onto, so I assume this is just more
5:19
for show than anything else. We also have a backpack. Good old leather backpack
5:27
And Baby Hulk, which is awesome. Baby Hulk goes in the backpack
5:34
Just like that. So she can be carried across the wasteland in relative protective carrying
5:41
So, first and foremost, let's get rid of these boring non-claw hands
5:48
Let's get the big guys in here. These are relatively small pegs, but I assume that's by design for the size of the character
5:57
But they seem a little, I'm cautious about them. It doesn't feel like something I would put
6:04
Actually, you know what? Before I try to thread the needle of getting his jacket on with his claw hands on, let's get his jacket on
6:10
jacket on. Let's do this right. So let's leather them up. The only man you wouldn't
6:19
insult wearing a leather trench coat in the middle of the desert. This is delicate
6:26
work. Alright, there we go. All right, yep, looks like a lot of people who attend
6:33
conventions. Okay, so now let's get the hands on here. So you can see the pegs themselves are
6:40
really small and the entry, it's really small. So it's a fine click
6:45
It's not a, it's not like a ham-fisted thing like the Marvel Legends figures are
6:50
And there we go. Let's get the other side. There we go
7:01
There's this duster, which I'll admit, doesn't look as good on as I thought it would
7:07
Maybe it needs some time to hang. It's a little wrinkly from shipping, I guess
7:11
Let's see what the hat looks like. I'm gonna guess dumb, but..
7:21
I mean, I know that he's a cowboy hat guy, but that just looks kind of silly
7:27
Let's get his backpack on. This might actually help with the overall look and feel
7:34
of the Again I just take his claws off We gonna get this going This is something I should have thought of ahead of This might actually help with the look and feel of the overall jacket
7:45
just to keep that overall the wrinkle down a little bit. And, there we go
7:56
Yeah, that does work. That looks better. It helps to kind of control the jacket itself
8:02
It makes it sit a little bit better on his frame. frame. Let's get the hand back in there. And there we go. Let's get an action, windy pose going
8:15
Right? Stand him up. Right. So there he is in all his glory. Baby Hulk on his back
8:29
Not too bad. Let's see. The other thing that's in here is the stand itself
8:34
which is solid. This looks really, really quality. It's big. This figure itself is not..
8:43
Isn't that too heavy? He's relatively, relatively white, but still, something of this diameter
8:49
You want to make sure you can sort of move them around and whatnot
8:55
So this, I guess, is in his foot like that. for standing and then I'm not 100% sure how this then works
9:11
So I don't know where this plugs in. I guess maybe this this peg comes out
9:15
It looks like this peg pops out. Let's try it. Yep, there it is
9:22
Peg pops out and then you've got this. So if you want to do your more actiony pose of, you know, I'm about to break an old man, Logan, hip
9:33
You can have them do a big shower growl jump. My kids are gonna love this when they wake up and realize that they have something else they can try to pull off my shelves
9:47
Alright? It's kind of terrible, it's just kind of levitating, but you get the point
9:55
So, that is everything. Let's put the hat on it, see I've done it looks again
10:02
See how I'm done it looks again. Yeah, I'm not a fan of the hat. It's kind of a shapeless hat
10:07
It doesn't really have, it doesn't look like an awesome cowboy hat
10:11
It's just kind of like, thin. So overall, impressions. I mean, the jacket, the jacket is leather, or Nogahide more than likely
10:25
It looks good, independent of Wolverine. Marine, it doesn't look as awesome on him
10:35
And I am definitely someone that has always been a fan of civilian clothing, Logan, when he can
10:42
get his various different slightly cowboy-esque outfits on, considering he's Canadian, which
10:51
I don't really understand. But this, I don't know, I think I prefer this without the jacket, but I'll probably put it on and off
10:59
60 times when it's sitting on my bookshelf, sitting there on a call or something at work
11:03
and I'll be, well, I'm just going to put the jacket out and see how it looks like. So let's say for now this little old man white t-shirt, you probably bought in a five-pack
11:16
from Walmart, looks pretty good. I think that's going to be the preferred process
11:22
I think the claws are one of the best parts and I think the head sculpt is one of the best parts Now he has a little Texas Longhorn bell buckle which is a pretty good piece but really look at the head sculpt itself The head let pop it up
11:39
The head itself is really really good. It's good. Solid construction. The peg itself is good, but that is essentially the old man Logan face and it fits really well on the
11:55
the figure. Now he is, he does look stocky. He does look short, which is, you know, as expected
12:06
I would assume that this character, this figure itself probably could have done with maybe
12:13
one less set of hands and maybe one more face, right? Because obviously in the old man Logan
12:21
miniseries, he, this is generally the look he has. You know, that sort of like, you know, that's sort of like
12:25
sort of calm, cold acceptance of how terrible everything is for a while
12:30
He's pretty grumpy and he looks pretty grumpy, but a secondary face with some more anger, maybe his berserker moment
12:43
I think would have been welcome. Oh, I'm just realizing now his neck moves too
12:47
So his neck actually moves independently of the peg on his head
12:51
So if you can see that, his neck is actually, it's got some articulation in that. some articulation in it. Now the curious thing, and I'll take a picture of this after, is that I
13:00
have a 3D print of my own head that was made specifically for an action figure. My wife bought it for me
13:09
for Christmas several years ago now. And it's essentially the perfect size for this, which means
13:17
that this old man Logan's head sculpt, as good as it is, might not spend the hell of a lot of time
13:23
So overall, worth the weight, I don't know if it's worth 13 months of a weight, but if you just found out about it now, this feels like a really solid addition to the line
13:39
I think, like I said before, I think the accessories are very good
13:44
Another head sculpt might have been preferable. A little, little baby Hulk
13:50
Maybe we can wear baby Hulk on the front. Do with that, the baby Bjorn Hulk
13:56
There we go. I'm going to make sure he's protecting Baby Hulk. Grumpy old man face with Baby Hulk in the front
14:06
Baby Hulk, I think, is definitely one of the better sort of packing moments where it really ties into that first Old Man Logan miniseries
14:16
And again, I think everything from an overall standard is really great
14:20
The clothing is excellent. The leather jacket does look really good on its own
14:28
I don't know that it fits Wolverine or Logan all that well
14:32
or at least better than the shirt. But this is worth it
14:38
I think this is a great addition to the line. This is so far the one that I was the most interested in
14:44
I think the other Wolverines in that line are interesting, but they feel a little bit too armory
14:49
I like this one because it's a little bit more simple. So, yeah, two thumbs up overall on Baby Bjorn, Old Man Logan
14:58
I would say, I mean, this is my first toy review, I don't actually do these that much
15:02
but I would say if I'm giving this review, I'd give this an 8.5 out of 10
15:07
So that's it. There'll be some additional pictures, like I said, and I'll probably take a snap of
15:11
gaming editor Patrick, Oldman Gaming Editor, to add to the site. Thanks very much
