Unboxing Sentinel Re:Edit Iron Man #05 Hulkbuster action figure and review

Hey AIPT fans, it's Dave from AIPTComics.com and we have a new toy to unbox

This is actually the Hulkbuster, you can see at the bottom here, and it's designed by Chemical

Attack T-Rex, whoever that is. I'm sorry, I don't know who they are

This is made by Sentinel. It is the Hulkbuster Iron Man number 5 in their line of metallic looking toys

Obviously, as a Hulkbuster, it's quite a large figure. It retails for $360, but I got it reduced because it appears to have dropped significantly

in price across different websites. Right off the bat, you'll notice the box is designed in a subtle sort of way to convey

the lines of the figure rather than the bright colors of yellow and gold, because we all

know Iron Man. We've got the re-edit number 5 on the side there, and then we actually get to see a bit

of the figure here with some interesting embossed re-edit written there. And then on the top here, you've got some, I think, Japanese

And then, ages 15 and up, folks. And then there's a window, and we open it, and the gate opens, and there's the figure

dressed in plastic and very protected. This is a nice little feature, so if you're in a store, you can check it out

So I'm going to unbox this. I have not touched this figure yet

I'm quite interested. I'm quite interested in this figure, particularly because we will be unboxing the Mezco Ragnarok Hulk

So, really big package. There's a big thing in the bottom here

Oh, this is the base. Get that out of the way. And also, some kind of manual with lots of plastic

This is the arm that will kind of plug into that. Get this out of the way

Oh, lost a piece already. Hmm, interesting. So, yeah, this is the base

It's quite large, and it's got a good weight to it, because I think this figure is pretty heavy

I'm going to put that to the side. Comes with this little magazine manual thing

Ah, there you go. So you can pose it and get it kind of off the ground

I mean, it's Hulkbuster. It's not supposed to jump, right? And then some details on Hall of Armor parts. Hmm

More information here. Let's open this. So, obviously, this is a pricier figure

And if you saw our group article about cost, I think it's interesting that action figures

have gotten more and more pricey over the years. You wouldn't have seen something like this, partially because of the way we can factory

build things now. But also, the market just didn't, you know, toys were for little kids, and now they're

for collectors. So, basically, we've got a lot of instructions here on how to change its form, but also bend

it around and articulate it. Looks like it has a lot of points of articulation

I don't actually know how many there are. And there are also batteries for the light function. Okay

So, let's start unboxing this. I'm going to take this piece off

So, yeah, we have, there's like an additional Hall of Armor, which I think this is what

this is here. I'm going to put this aside right now, because we all want to see that figure

Alright, plastic within plastic to protect it, but also, as we know from all the other

unboxings, so that it will explode on us when we undo things

Just get one side. Oh, look at that. Oh my God, no explosion

Big success. Big success. Oh! Okay, not perfect success. What's this? I don't know

Looks like a missile or something. Anyway, I'm going to put that down for now. So, he's on, oh, here it is

There's another one of these. There's two of those. Then we've got the, okay, so this is like an armor plate that you put on like his arm

Am I immediately seeing a defect? A bit. Just a bit. Right there

So, the figure is on a bed of plastic that you can... Oh! Okay

Not quite as ingenious as I thought it would be. Okay, yep

One big piece. Plastic gone. So, look, there he is. Customary of a lot of expensive figures like so

There's a bit of plastic here and there to protect pieces from rubbing and damaging the figure upon shipment

Alright, this isn't a huge figure, but it's not small either. Marvel Legends is going to go about to here

So, it's going to... It's actually quite a good size if you're a big Marvel Legends fan because it's, you know, in ratio to that, it actually suits the Hulkbuster because it should be hulking quite big

Right off the bat, it looks like metal. I think some of these pieces are metal, but some are obviously plastic too

I can feel like this is plastic. There's a bit of movement to a lot of these little pieces, which is really cool

And a lot of great detail. Now, I wonder... Here's the back

Wow, that's... Yeah, I think that guy can fly. That's a huge rocket

And then there's some articulation in here to hinge things, which is cool

His belt kind of comes in and out, which is... I don't know why exactly

And obviously, we got the Iron Man head in there, so that keeps the realism of it

And whoop! That's for protection when Hulk shows up. And then, I guess that's his proposed ability

If you need to get his arms up, you can kind of move it around. Alright

There's a lot of figure here. This is a different figure, especially for me, with Marvel Legends and then also the Mezco toys as well

Which have a lot less going on. Just upon... You know, just looking at it, this is like a statue level of quality, I think

And the metal parts, definitely, you can tell that added a lot of value to the figure

Even in the finger here, you can see there are metal hinges, bolts holding it all together, which is quite cool

And you can actually straighten these fingers out. You can actually bend them back a little bit

Not that you would need to, but... A lot of... I'm a big fan of fingers moving, toes moving

This guy doesn't need toes because he's got a boot. But again, you've got a good amount of movability here

So you can get those really dynamic poses, if you were to push off

How do we get the light to work? I'm going to guess there's a button here

Let's take a peek inside. Wow, there's a whole figure. Obviously, just the top torso

You can see the blue chest plate down there, which is quite cool

It adds a little more realism to it. And his arms kind of get tucked into the side, but I doubt there's arms that go out beyond that spot

Just enough so that you can visibly see. And then the head..

Almost has full left and right mobility. Actually, it doesn't actually want to go as right as it did go left

But... It can go up and down, which is cool. And then the arms fully rotate all the way around

Go up and down. This piece right here feels a little cheap. It's plastic, obviously

But then you've got movability in here, too. Wow, there's a lot of movability with this guy

And then his elbow... Actually has this interesting hinge. If you look at it, it hinges here and here

So double hinge. And then... The hand can go all the way around, but also pivot around this one point

It looks like the light would light up there, too. So let's take a look here

I like this pose. It's like he's dancing. Okay, so... It appears..

See this little... It came with two of these. And you plug these in

To get the light functionality to work, you have to take these guys

Which plug in the back, as you saw. And unscrew. And then..

See how there's like a seam right here? You gotta pull it apart. Which isn't the easiest thing to do, but it will go

Like so. And then there's a little piece of plastic... Right here

Right here. You pull that out to let those batteries touch. And then you put it back together

This is kind of a clever little way of putting batteries in a figure, let me tell you

Now... To get it back... Oh, gotta have it the right way

There we go. And then you just screw this back on. Let's do the second one

So obviously it takes four batteries. And a clever design, let me tell you

Alright, almost got it. There we go. Pull that plastic... Oh! Pull that plastic piece out

Don't lose the battery. Alright, and this time... Got it the right way

And you screw it on. So then... You plug these cool Doohickey battery thingies in

Which look pretty sweet. And then you lift this piece, which kind of conceals the on-off switch here

Which is super tiny text! On... I'm gonna put this back. Ooh, that fits in nicely

Alrighty, we have light. Oh my god, there are switches everywhere, folks

Okay, there is another switch here. Super tiny little switch here. And you need to..

When you first buy it, you'll never have to do this again, so don't worry. You don't have to do this every time

You need to unscrew this itty-bitty screw. I'm sure this is what Tony Stark does all the time

Alright. And then there's another itty-bitty piece of plastic in here. Keeping those batteries from touching. Done

And then we put this screw back... ...into its place. Screw back the arm

So there are four compartments like this. Where you need to unscrew, remove the plastic, and then..

...put the battery back. Or get the battery set up, I mean

Okay. Now, if we hit this switch... ...it lights up. And if I hit this switch..

...it turns off. Two batteries just for this one light. And then there's this handy-dandy..

...armor-plated... ...magnetized piece that covers up that switch so you don't even see it

Really cool. Of course, it's a bit of a labor to... I mean, not a pain, but..

...a labor to... I mean, not that bad. You just take this off. You switch

He's off. Then you do that for the other pieces as well

Which include these shin guards. And you're gonna think you're gonna break it, but don't worry

You just pull it right up from here. You grab here, and you just pull up like that

And once again, we have little itty-bitty switches and a screw. So..

...we do some screw work. And you... God knows you don't wanna..

...get a new toy. There it is lighting up there. Get a new toy

And... ...not all the features are working out of the box. I can't believe how tiny these switches are

This one... Oh, this one powers... Aha! Look at that. That's pretty sweet

Yeah, he's gonna lift off with that. I wonder if one is right and one is left

It's probably gonna become obvious when you try to stick it, but..

So as you can see, there's sort of a peg hole there to fit into this piece

Oh, it goes right in. Not hard at all. Alright. So... This is a rather cool Hulkbuster, I have to say

I've seen some cheaper Hulkbusters from Dynamo Entertainment, other things like that

You know, $20. And then repainted to look... Oh, this one didn't need the plastic removed

To look more metallic. Whereas this one, right out of the gate, it looks metallic

It is metallic. It has metal parts. And then it also has these really cool light-up features

Do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do

And then we just This is a relatively normal size screwdriver, so you should be able to do this with no problem

It was already on okay Let's turn this turn things on so

So right now we have We've got this light on It's a little bright, but you can see

Now we'll have this one on all right, and then we'll turn these guys on

And we'll put this piece back for now all right As you can see in real time it takes a bit to get all these lights on

This light's on and One more light Oh shoot, you know what it was already on my bad

Whoop These metal pieces are strategically placed to um Hide all the inside parts

All right, so we've got a Hulkbuster and it is fully functional and lighting up

We've got the two palms the back lights All going and then also obviously the chest which if you look

In this piece, it's actually tony's chest that's lighting up this Um this front piece, so it's kind of weird that you can close that all that way

I wonder why that is um, you need to kind of put it just so

The blue comes in through pretty good, uh through the little glass window

So i've read some folks that weren't so happy with how bright that was, but it looks I think it looks pretty solid

This oh gosh these pieces kind of want to come off because they're only magnetized

But they're relatively fine they're home Yeah, look at that, okay, so

One thing i'm gonna just right off the bat gonna say this this arm as

You can see doesn't want to stay up Obviously if you just reposition it'll kind of stay but a little surprise. It's not a little more

solid for posability Yeah, see like it's like oh, okay it's staying

Um, so Aside from those features this, uh hatch actually opens, uh to reveal tony a little bit more if you want to

Pose it in that way Um, there is I already sort of went through that but this but there's uh, there's moving pieces of armor

And the hands completely articulate Which is I think a really nice feature

Um So that's the figure Uh, I think it's a really cool figure let's just like say it it's got a nice weight to it. It's it's it's a nice size

um Obviously some some of the posability is is reduced based on the weight probably pulling down on some things. Um, but if you turn

If you turn pieces, oh gosh, look at this i'm like just destroying it

If you turn some pieces, uh certain ways, uh, it will it will go with the flow although this one's

Um Obviously the metallic finish is fantastic and I mean look at all these little kind of ins and outs with the armor

It's really cool and there's different kind of patterns going on It's almost like wing like and then this is more almost like shell like it's kind of a neat contrast

And then the lights, uh, they have some nicer like I can't really tell when it's on but there's some streaks in there

And the foot looks like a big boot with some armor around it and then the hands are really really cool

um It doesn't bend back too far. But at this size When you're posing the figure, I doubt you don't need it to

Bent too much if you know what I mean um to get this guy

um on the stand There is This little piece here Basically the plastic bends there we go

It's tony stark's hulkbuster colonoscopy I saw it here first, uh, hold on

Okay Here's the base obviously So this piece okay, so this toy is a complicated toy, let's just say it

Uh, nothing is simple with this toy. Um These chunky pieces actually come apart. So the base is actually a little bit complex too

And So Uh-huh, there's another plastic piece like so

And you stick it into the base It doesn't want to go all the way too easy unless I have a bad boots don't check that

Nope There we go plug it into the base like so until you hear a click

And then you get a hulkbuster into the base You get him pose however you want obviously this is bolt, uh, uh activated here so if they get loose you just uh

Screw it tighter Uh, as you can see he can do he's a this is the hulkbuster cheerleader

um While, uh, he does one of his greatest jumps ever. Oh

it's not as tight as it could be but So don't fault the company for that

Let's get the uh Little extra pieces we got here We got another plastic piece which sort of suits this base

Metal rod it's like a magic trick Oh, okay, what's that? I'm not sure

All right now we've got this, uh Sort of base this is the um

Hull of armor they're calling it I have a feet. I got stuff just popping off over here

As you can see I have a feeling this is one piece of

um A collection you can kind of if you keep buying these figures because this is a number five as we know

Uh, if you keep buying these figures you can kind of build this Build up. Oh jesus. So this is plugged in here

And then this actually can come apart This hall of armor And this piece kind of

This piece plugs in here for our hall of armor i'm just gonna do it off camera really quick don't judge me

Ta-da hall of armor thing um The point of this is so that you can

Oof, these little plastic pieces just want to fall out Wait, let me get that. Yeah, okay

I got a piece fell out. Anyway, this is uh so that you can actually display

This armor with this like nice little backing. Um, you can see in their diagram

that way if you have other iron man You could have this sort of like in the scene with other iron man armors as if

This is uh waiting to be used or something like that um, which is kind of a cool little idea this

This is very basic looking um, and the base has got some like ribbing to like convey

Vending I guess. Uh it's not terrible, but it's also kind of basic and

simple uh, if you're asking what's the metal rod for you, um

stick this plastic Oh, it's uh spring activated plastic. Uh Uh Sort of a claw and that will hold the figure presumably

Um interesting Just an extra addition to the toy. This is everything what you see in front of me is everything that came with the toy

um And I have to say it's pretty freaking awesome. Um, obviously this is a more expensive figure. Um, especially compared to mezco or

Marvel legends for that matter But how many are made with real metal

and real light up functionality Uh I like this figure a lot. I mean, it's hard to not like it based on the quality

But also all the little kind of detailing that was done to make it look special and look the base works fine

It looks great. And this is a pretty heavy figure and look at that pose pretty nuts

um And obviously the bending of this can allow you to do some more but these bolts aren't quite

Tight enough to do whatever you want right now But they don't have to be if you're gonna have them on his feet

So overall I think this is a quite cool figure I would recommend it. Um, if you have the cash it's uh the sentinel

um re-edit iron man number five hulk buster All these figures they have so many words in their names

Um overall this is a great toy if you go to aptcomics.com The eyes line up too guys. I didn't even notice that at first go to aptcomics.com
