0:03
here we go and we're back with another episode of two straws two straws and
0:10
guess who F week it is oh my gosh it's fine
0:17
Y how does it feel it feels pretty good um you know
0:23
the last few weeks of Camp I've just been like really really focused on that light of the end of the tunnel yeah
0:30
there you go it's here here it is I mean not quite you still got like what 7 days
0:37
of misery seven days seven days of torture mentally s days that will go by
0:44
so slow and fast at the same time it sucks because the physical part feels
0:51
like the hardest part until you get to fight week and then you're not doing as much physical but the mental side is
0:58
such a mindf there's so much time to overthink yeah just sitting around
1:05
waiting to get put in a cage and fight someone for money it's totally
1:11
normal to the death it's a normal thing my favorite is
1:16
when you uh when you arrive at like a fighter sign in or uh check-in yeah for
1:23
fight week and they have you sign you know your bout agreement in person and there's always that like uh liability
1:30
waiver like in the event of death in the event of this that and the other bodily harm injury and death um you will not
1:36
Sue well I don't read the fine print which is how I get through that part every time like yeah yeah cool this
1:45
is totally fine oh yeah death I mean if they if it was their
1:50
fault though then I'm sure there's something your family could do I would
1:55
hope so they would get compensated I'm sure Dana would like even rary bonus under the table like he does so many
2:02
times pull out his check sorry for your loss here you go here you go miss albite
2:08
you go Miss Penny very sorry oh it's so dark but uh your
2:17
family's not going to have to worry about that it's Reed's family it's G to have to worry oh I'm
2:25
I'm wearing black yeah I mean I am too because I'm going
2:30
to be in the corner I'll be in my uh black tracksuit that is so cool looking
2:36
it's the coolest I haven't seen the revamped ones in person yet oh they they're actually better than the rebok
2:42
ones I kind of I'm I'm kind of a fan oh no I just I've seen the Venom ones oh okay but I haven't you know seen the new
2:49
colors yes yes yes I haven't seen all the the new fun stuff yeah I'm like damn you ain't been gone that long it feels
2:56
like forever well uh let's talk about these fights real quick but then we'll
3:01
Circle back to all the fight Camp fills and we have a bunch of uh fan questions
3:07
too that we're gonna get to for Jessica pen coming up for her fight week yay
3:14
against ellie3 December 19th or uh October 19 oober we're in October I'm
3:20
just here uh Apex 99 Apex 99 yeah so
3:26
we'll Circle back to that in a second but what did you think about those fights for me uh when I'm about to fight
3:33
and there's like crazy fights it gets me hyped up like it can get me like nervous
3:38
it can get me hyped up there's there's all sorts of emotions that go down when I'm watching a fight week right before
3:43
mine so what did you think about uh last night's stuff um last nights was definitely inspiring I was you know just
3:50
taking notes from from what I saw in the fights from what I was hearing from commentary and the pattern that I saw is
3:57
just be first yeah you know and that's what I have been seeing that's what I've been paying attention to mostly um when
4:02
I'm watching fights and preparing for this fight is just you know being first not really giving somebody space to
4:08
adjust to me um so that was that was a big takeaway and just man the main event
4:15
with royal and Tyra just the the perseverance like there there were so many points where just the momentum of
4:22
the fight would would change and there was no there was no give though in each
4:27
fighter which was really impressive I thought it was was a really fun fight uh hands down favorite round was the third
4:33
uh which was the fight which was the the round in the fight that was mostly in question as to kind of who was going to
4:39
get that round I from what I read but I I just thought it was it was a great
4:46
fight and it just showed um how good rival is in his Evolution and how good Tyra is and is
4:53
going to be yeah yeah Tyra is nasty man
4:59
I think the only thing that he lacked in that fight was like you said being first
5:04
because in the first and the third and the fifth round Roy Val started going
5:10
and started like landing on him and you could see that he would be like recalculating every time he got hit with
5:17
a nasty onew or a big jab or just like through and then Roy V would slide to
5:23
the side and kind of punch over the top he would just be like wait
5:29
and then but when uh Tyra was going first when he was landing on ryal that's
5:35
when you would see him really do like the good flowy action like he would land on him roal would react and then he dip
5:42
right under get the Tak down just being first is where he's going to start winning beating everyone you know even
5:48
the crafty bets at the very top like I'd love to see him against someone like Mareno next or uh any other the top five
5:56
because I feel like this fight is going to put him on the path to never being beaten again um he obviously had they
6:04
both had like the the route to win they both understood the game plan and just
6:09
rile was able to be good enough and uh you know Wiggly enough on bottom that he
6:15
couldn't get a good submission he had great timing with the knees great timing with the boxing and his wrestling was
6:23
also matched up with Tyra especially after he started to get tired especially
6:28
after he started listening to his corners and did not give the back but actually tried to wrestle him back like
6:35
that was the key I feel like I think Ral learned a bit there too like hey just because you survive here against most
6:41
people doesn't mean you have to survive you could just grind a little bit harder and end up on top of these guys that are
6:48
trying to take you down so um it was a dog fight for sure he he raw dogged his
6:54
way to a decision and it was awesome to watch and was a little sad that we
7:01
didn't get to hear Tyra's little I'm happy
7:07
[ __ ] you know I I've got to say I was kind of looking forward to it I was a little sad this was one of those fights
7:13
where you have Tyra who who had an unblemished record up until that point
7:19
and I'm not saying he had easy fights or
7:24
or anything like that but he he was Paving a path they were giving him fights where he could really showcase
7:29
case himself so for him to do so well and make those adjustments it just showed a lot of maturity that I wasn't
7:36
sure would be there when facing adversity so I was impressed with him he um I think he did really well in his his
7:43
body locks I think he just has a nasty nasty like almost aljo likees kind of uh
7:50
backpack on people yeah yeah aljo chimed in too he was like oh he's good he's probably like I do that too don't forget
7:57
about me he's good for a flyweight yeah right
8:03
yeah but no real recognized real and he saw the way that he was able to control
8:08
Ral who is horrible to control like he moves so much he does weird things he
8:15
breaks rules he's usually able to get out and get back on top with Tyra he was
8:21
just getting controlled the entire time that he was able to get on top of him so
8:26
it was good of Roy V to be able to kind of beat him to the punch those knees were the big game changer in the third
8:33
round like that was so crazy the fact that he was Landing them over and over
8:38
again and Tyra was surviving that one he almost outjo Tyra in the middle of the
8:45
round cuz he was like just I think his fingertips were just off the canvas and
8:51
he got kneed on the top of the head and just went I was like oh my God that that
8:58
fight was so crazy to watch like especially that round and uh the fact
9:03
that roal got on top of him he could have just pieced him up and probably finished him right there but he went for
9:09
an armar and Ty just went and ended up on top on his back I was going crazy it
9:17
wase fight it was a really fun fight to watch and both of them I'm sure got a
9:22
learned a lot in that fight and get to you know build momentum and create
9:27
adjustments and just become even even better Fighters it was pretty cool to see them you know exchange kind words
9:33
and encouragement afterwards too that's what I really like to see in those big fights yeah it's it's one of those ones
9:39
where um you know that having a person like that in your vicinity will only
9:46
make you better and I they said that they trained before it was the first time roal ever fought anyone that he had
9:53
trained with um I have a feeling he ragged all them in the training room
9:58
because he kept saying like man I thought I was going to finish him in the first round so I'm like he must have got
10:04
some real good re reads in the training room and thought the fight was going to go that way but a lot of people I mean
10:11
he seems really polite I don't know I wasn't sure because of the way he blew
10:16
out homeboy's knee I wasn't sure if he was a polite training partner but
10:22
after after the fight and after hearing how royval thought he was going to
10:27
destroy him I'm like maybe he is a good training partner maybe being nice yeah maybe he
10:34
doesn't break his toys maybe he actually like doesn't try to blow people's knees out in training room um but yeah it was
10:41
an awesome fight uh there were so many moments where I was just like man this could have gone so many different ways
10:48
if Roy V didn't go for that armbar I'm sure he's beating him or he might have been beating himself up about that if
10:55
there was another Sala model oh girl in the in the judge chamber or whatever
11:02
they keep those gargoyles I just I don't understand how many how many times can you let a judge
11:10
make a bad decision before you know you remove them
11:16
s was still in Utah s must have caught a red eye from
11:23
UTA he was out party in Vegas the night before dude he W what was he on man all
11:29
the stuff he was not seeing eye to eye with any of the judges that he scored with and it was really wild because they
11:37
were all fights where the winner seemed pretty clear yes the the rounds seemed
11:43
very clear I think everyone was in agreement with in the media scores
11:48
everyone was in in agreement like with the verdict cards uh you know ver.com
11:54
where you can go and say oh I think this person won this round and usually the
11:59
popular vote reflects what the two judges on the other side of the split
12:04
decision say and that happened with all of these all of these fights so it was
12:09
really I'm I'm just like what is he seeing because it wasn't even the third round that Sal deato messed up he messed
12:15
up the first round it it's it blows my mind so s if you're out here I'm coming
12:22
for your neck if you [ __ ] up Jess's fight I will seek you out I will follow
12:28
you to your car will'll find you I'll follow you home like what's that girl's namey Cheyenne I'll follow you home see
12:37
what the parking lot oh my gosh you better stay away from our fights so s's actually like been
12:45
nice to me every now and then I feel like it was like one fight he was on one end of the split decision where I
12:51
thought I won and then another fight he was on the other and the split decision but when you do this stuff you get a
12:57
track record and everyone remembers the bad decisions not the good decisions and his name comes up so often pretty much
13:05
every fight card that you have to wonder like what is this guy seeing that no one else is and why is he still
13:12
there no it's a serious you need to be corrected you need to be disciplined you need to go back to judge school yeah
13:20
don't like I don't know you're messing with people's livelihoods then they have to take a test where you watch a fight
13:28
and if if you don't judge it the same way that everyone else judges it or that
13:34
we'll have like a couple people at the top who always get it right and if you
13:40
don't judge it the same way they do then you don't pass the test yeah like a driver's test you have to judge at least
13:47
eight out of 10 fights right no I think I mean we've we've
13:53
talked about it before I just think that there should be like you have to renew your license every so often yeah you
14:00
know if and if you're making poor
14:05
decisions with with your scoring then I think there needs to be a review well I
14:10
think that Sal deato was just the only one in the little group that they have
14:17
the little Illuminati group that they have in order he was the only one present he was the only one there he was holding it down he was supposed to be
14:23
two of them there's usually supposed to be two of them I don't know where uh the other guys were that day
14:29
but they separated them sa was the only one allowed and and he tried his best
14:36
but it didn't work thank goodness no it's a shame H it it's
14:42
really it really does change um a the fabric of a lot of MMA too because if
14:48
you look at all the fights that happened in Utah like these are big fights a CH a
14:55
title fight you know yeah you had a title fight that was uh that is now going to have an aster expir you had um
15:02
you know upand Comer Fighters that are going to have an aster expir and it's like just telling the fighters that we
15:09
have to get better and we have to finish fights isn't fair like there's more
15:14
money on the line for us than for them so why don't you just swap out these
15:20
guys since they're so underqualified swap them out pay someone else to do the
15:25
job right mhm it's just I don't know it it's it's wild that there isn't anything being done to fix it but it's kind of
15:32
the fabric of the sport either you and it's been the same with boxing too any
15:38
sport where you have people judging Olympics when you have something like uh
15:43
uh gymnastics or something there's always controversy where the judges can score however they want and it could be
15:50
corrupt it could be just bias it could be human error whatever but humans will
15:57
notoriously mess up like that's just it's part of
16:02
Being Human yeah it's part part of Being Human so if there's no like actual score
16:07
being put on a block on a timer or whatever like football then it's really
16:13
easy for the stuff to happen in sports and it's a shame but we must move on we
16:19
must carry on and we must try to finish our fights especially when salato is
16:24
there MH um the comain was another one where s
16:33
was the only deterrent from the car and I I was a little pissed because I had
16:40
picked Taris to win I think I'm pretty sure I picked Taris to win um I did get
16:48
uh Roy Val I picked him to win and uh chitty won too but he didn't win by KO
16:54
but uh tarus I was rooting for he started off strong he started first
17:00
laying a nice one too dropped him dropped the park and was doing really well in the first round it was back and
17:07
forth but like he was doing well and I feel like Park started to catch up to
17:12
him at the end of the first round and started getting his range the iron Turtle should also be known as the
17:18
zombie turtle that guy does not stop coming forward his pressure is insane you could see you could see in the
17:24
rounds how it was giving Taris just a really hard time to execute any effective offense yeah he just kept
17:31
getting pushed and pushed and pushed against the fence and really couldn't turn anything over um it was it was an
17:37
interesting fight because I I think Brad has been kind of
17:43
inconsistent but I always like I'll always root for him because I know he has that ability to stop a fight with
17:48
one punch you know and I know that he's you know constantly working but Hawaiian
17:54
they all have that abity they all have that yeah it's the bones they got heavy bones they
18:00
are but um yeah Park just started dismantling him and I think the the key
18:05
to that victory was his pressure yeah he loves to live in that like foam Booth
18:12
range he loves that he just swarms he throws big blows he just head hunts like
18:18
he he does all a lot of the things you're not supposed to do on boxing he moves forward without punching yeah he
18:25
just kind of like lurches forward and I'm like how is he moving forward and not getting hit and like it must be an
18:31
energy thing it just must be his his presence or the the inability to see
18:37
what he's going to do next but sometimes I would just see he's just walking forward with no punches and closing the distance it was like making me
18:43
claustrophobic looking at it well uh it was funny because Dom uh was on the
18:48
commentary last night our friend Dominic Cruz and he mentioned how uh the turtle
18:54
need to pop his neck back in but like a lot of people would know necks they're impossible to choke and the same thing
19:00
goes for them being impossible to rock It's really hard like yeah he got that
19:06
uh one two off in the beginning um uh tarus did but afterwards everything just
19:13
Skiffs off because if you can't turn the head with the punch then a lot of times
19:19
it doesn't have that same effect where you see them get wobbled like anytime someone really gets rocked it's either a
19:25
punch on the a hit on the top of the head that turns your head this way or something that turns your head this way
19:32
and because he has no neck it's like guarded by shoulders and chest and
19:39
it's really hard to in traps it's really hard to get that movement of the head and I was like I bet he's like yeah some
19:46
guys you just come after them and they have no neck and it's hard to do anything to them I'm like I bet he's
19:52
talking about Wilson Wilson Hayes has no
19:57
neck he makes me feel very clustr and he does the same thing he does the same thing he just walks for it it's like um
20:03
it's like an Indiana Jones like that that ball the ball just like rolling
20:08
towards you and you're like get away from me no matter where you move and then you run out of places to move and they get you yeah run runs you over it's
20:16
like that um that wall that keeps closing in Mario yeah yeah if you stop then you're dead
20:24
so uh I we've felt that pressure before from people like that and it can sap your energy for sure bless you it can
20:31
definitely sap your energy take a lot of uh of the pop out of your punches because you throw the punch they're at
20:39
perfect punching range and then they kind of smother it by stepping into the punching range and even though you hit
20:44
them it just it's just a flesh wound it grazes them it just grazes them with
20:50
forward pressure it's it's weird it must be some Physics thing or something we need we need a scientist in the comments
20:56
because to examine this it doesn't make sense doesn't make sense to piss me off but it's a very real thing it is it's a very
21:03
real thing I'm I've experienced it I've you know I see it in the octagon it's just it's kind of like um an X Factor
21:11
just something yeah yeah and that's where uh why they were mentioning the
21:16
knees too the knees definitely give you another Target to hit when you have
21:21
someone who's closing that pressure Roy val did it really nice when uh Ty
21:26
tatsuro Tyra was just like coming in pressuring shoulders I mean uh chest
21:32
forward like you know just kind of trying to smother him and get to that taked down R I was able to throw that
21:38
knee if he was lucky he hit him in the head if not like even the body it just gets him the back off a little bit and
21:44
makes them pay for closing that distance without throwing anything and uh yeah
21:49
that could have been something that gave tarus a little more space in order to
21:55
throw punches in order to land that those big blows that he land Ed in the first round but I felt like it was a
22:01
pretty obvious first round for tarus second and third for uh Park same yeah
22:07
just pressuring Landing more um getting on top controlling all that it felt like
22:14
he was doing more of that in the second and third yeah yeah so s I'm just
22:21
saying actually s was not a Jud oh who was it it was Mike Bell Eric colon
22:38
Jun H he's on my list too well he yeah he's on the new list on because he
22:44
scored that second round for taras ah okay interesting sorry
22:50
s my bad we can apologize when we do something wrong look at that look at
22:56
that well maybe you you should go back and look at some of the scores you've made some of
23:03
them judging yeah I'm like what's the word for it atrocity is a great word I
23:09
love it thank you I love it um our boy chitty jaani is that how you say it Nani Jani
23:17
Nani yeah good job uh our boy chitty he
23:23
won he went Chitty Chitty Bang Bang dude Bang Bang
23:29
all over the dude's face that knee in the third round oh I mean all the knees
23:34
all the elbows you know what I loved was to watch it it was just it was beautiful to watch it's like oh that's what it's
23:40
supposed to look like when he was [Laughter] pressuring like oh got you that's what
23:47
yeah that's the way he would Pummel an elbow Pummel pressure just everything
23:53
just the the ability to just keep striking and keep pressure and keep
23:59
Gooden just completely pinned up against that cage yeah was masterful no it was
24:05
great and like Gooden was able to land his blows too he wasn't uh outmatched as
24:11
much as I thought he'd be I really felt like titty would be able to pick him apart in the first round and like put
24:16
him out but he had to respect the power this guy he like I I feel bad cuz I was
24:23
watching his Pad work and it's not impressive at all his Pad work looks so
24:28
bad but you can't judge a fighter by their pad work he throws like punches like you know when you're learning how
24:35
to throw Hooks and your coach will put like a a broomstick under your under
24:41
your shoulders so that you learn how to turn your entire body with the hook he
24:47
never learned step two it's like okay this is step one okay
24:53
you see how you turn your back okay yeah you're using your legs okay now put your elbows down and go like that and he
24:59
never got to that part he just goes but he has crazy power like you can
25:05
tell this guy hits hard as [ __ ] and he does that same pressuring thing where he
25:10
tries to walk his people down tries to land those big blows so chitty sometimes
25:16
when you have someone who's very technical against someone who comes in with raw power um it could break down
25:23
the technical fighter you see that happen a lot um so I was really happy for chitty being able to pick his shots
25:29
being able to get out of the danger being able to push up against the fence Lan his elbows and knees and all that
25:35
and dude I was screaming in the third round when he rocked good in with that knee mhm I
25:43
wanted him to kill I was like and I can only imagine his corner
25:48
too just screaming but in hindsight it was probably he probably made a good read
25:54
and didn't swarm him because the guy just has power yeah he has if you watch any of his footage you know he has a
26:00
puner chance and you know that when somebody is injured they know they're down in the rounds that's when they can
26:06
be potentially most dangerous so I think that was a good read for him um so chitty is always so impressive with his
26:13
striking that that doesn't surprise me but I thought his takedown defense and
26:18
his ability to get back up to his feet was much improved and that's what we really needed to see from him especially
26:24
against somebody who's going to force the Tak down mhm mhm yeah and so someone who's going to hide it with those power
26:30
punches it's like that's the most annoying thing is someone going oh [ __ ] all right we're going and then they duck
26:35
under and we're down he tricked me no he was like a cat just his ability to to
26:41
scramble back up technically get back up uh keep the fight in a place where he could be victorious it was impressive
26:48
yeah let's go can't wait to see the next one um any other fights you want to talk
26:54
about on this card I know our girl Corey
26:59
had a tough fight out she had a short notice replacement in uh pastry and uh
27:06
this was this a salato one I'm pulling it up pull pull it up pull it up so I
27:12
don't misspeak I've learned from my mistakes you're so good like that yeah I
27:18
mean that's what okay that's what we that's called Evolution uh salato yes
27:24
salato and he he actually scored um round for Corey the second round for
27:30
Corey yeah and um Adelaide bird and Ron McCarthy gave it to pastri Adelaide bird
27:36
I know she she got her she had her uh good prescription glasses that night so
27:42
I will say that 3027 I felt like was really rude it was that's that was Ron
27:48
McCarthy okay so y'all are y'all are that y'all were getting warmed up that
27:53
was what the third night third fight of the night so they were they were getting Med up they were trying to figure it out
28:00
um it it was a tough one out because uh you know Cory came down the train with us and when I first checked out this
28:08
girl that she was fighting you could tell she had good clinch she um kind of
28:13
does that same pressuring thing that we were talking about but she usually waits a lot and doesn't really strike until
28:19
the very end to win the round so uh this was going to be a tough one out for
28:25
Corey just because she likes to zip in and out they she likes to have her space
28:31
she likes to land on the outside and then get her takedowns um what surprised me was that the girl's uh like framing
28:39
looked really strong she looked really strong in that clinch position um she was Landing really good knees she was
28:45
just very calculated great pressure um and it was giving Corey a hard time up until she kind of figured it out like
28:51
more in the later of the fight yeah it's one of those fights where she's going to kick herself because once you get that
28:58
taked down and you're like Ah that's what I needed to do that's the takedown
29:04
that I could have because you have to go through your whole roll ofex of takedown sometimes in the fight because someone's
29:10
going to be strong in one position and another you have to figure out why it's not working when it usually does I think
29:16
for Corey the framing on the head was really distracting her and she couldn't figure out which take down the go for
29:23
like do I put my hands together do I go for the legs do I stay on the body lock and you could see her going through all
29:30
the different things that were in her head but this elbow was just kind of messing it up and then once she finally
29:37
got past that elbow finally got the girl to the ground it was all Corey and I I
29:42
feel like scoring the round the third round for pastri was rude just because
29:49
it was pretty even on the feet until the takeown like I think pastri was maybe up
29:54
a few strikes before the takedown happened and then Cory being on top and Landing a bunch just controlling not
30:02
getting swept I felt like that should have been her round especially when you see how hard pastry was to take down the
30:08
entire you know two rounds beforehand so you have to acknowledge that that was a lot of effort that was that was a lot of
30:16
um you know information and adjustment and I think that that scores towards Cory especially since she was active
30:23
when she was taking it down yeah she wasn't holding position she was active she was Landing ground and pound she was
30:30
uh looking the pass um yeah I felt like it was pretty clear two rounds to one um
30:36
I I was happy when s scored it for Cory
30:42
because I'm like all right we'll take that one one more one more we got a win
30:48
um and you know it the strike count was pretty even but I think pastri had a
30:54
really good Poker Face she was walking forward she was doing that thing that that wall thing you know where she just
31:01
keeps walking anytime Cory would land she would just be like didn't hurt and she kind of has like a a Wilson neck too
31:09
like not as pronounced but the traps were keeping her forward and on the
31:15
other side Corey was showing more oh that landed you know with Optics are a
31:21
big thing in scoring realizing you know even though even though something may like statistically that wise maybe even
31:30
or you know super close it could go either way sometimes the Optics make the difference and in this case I think that
31:36
that uh it did not help her yeah yeah I think I think a couple things and and
31:42
she can go back and work on that and come back strong afterwards but uh pastri is an interesting addition to the
31:48
straw weight um she's going to be a tough a tough out for a few people
31:55
especially if they don't understand like the clench game and if they can't get past that elbow frame like she looks
32:02
like you you know I know I
32:08
know well she is new to the UFC in the testing pool yeah we'll see we'll see how long it takes for her next fight to
32:14
[Laughter] happen little shade there for our
32:19
girl got you know it's just there some shade just freak a little shade on it
32:30
yeah um any other fights we want to check out before we get to our questions
32:36
um you know what I was really impressed uh with Grant Dawson in his performance and his post fight speech yes so I
32:43
missed the post fight speech he so I love this so he um he had just beat um
32:49
who was it Garcia yes I believe yeah yeah he had just beat Garcia um TKO in
32:55
the second round and it was it was all pressure all Dawson from the start of the first round you know to the finish
33:03
and you know that's one of those things that I just really you know grabbed from you know going into my fight week I was
33:08
like all right got to be first got to be first cannot give somebody an opportunity to get their game plan going
33:14
yeah but uh so he gets this you know great finish he had been laid off with
33:19
injury and he wanted to thank his wife um you know he said I what did he say
33:26
the thing that I love most about her well second was her um the way that she
33:33
loves him and supports him and you know just does everything for him and he said but first most of all what he loves
33:38
about her is her she's got a dumb truck that he can bounce a quarter off of oh and then accused her and it was just it
33:44
was a really cute moment it's um you know I think wives of Fighters of people
33:51
who are in like high stress situations I think they're really kind of like
33:56
the unsung heroes you know what I'm saying like they don't get the credit that they really deserve because
34:03
Fighters are very selfish Fighters are kind of Reckless at times and don't make
34:10
the best decisions when it comes to their health and their bodies money yeah all these things so
34:16
when you have somebody that's holding it down for you I just really love hearing that you know it's like a referee
34:22
Fighter's got to save a ref has to save the fighter from themselves much like you know the people in in their corner
34:28
and at home and you know that having a person like that is more valuable than
34:34
having a good therapist like this person is ride or die like a lot of people get
34:42
the opposite where they have a spouse that's really bad for them that's really bad for their career they don't
34:47
encourage them they don't uh they don't hold them down and when you have someone
34:52
like that like I'm lucky enough to have someone like that and it's it's a game changer
34:58
because you can be there doubting yourself you can be there saying that you ain't [ __ ] like just just telling
35:04
yourself all these negative things and then they'll remind you who you are and they'll remind you how far you've come
35:11
and they've been there from the very beginning to now and it's really
35:16
important because if you don't have that person to remind you you forget you know it's it's really easy to forget and it's
35:22
hard to be your own hype person it's it like fighting is all about being humble so you have to have that person
35:29
reminding you like hey you're really good you know like I know you want to be humble
35:36
right now like he um everyone uh kind of counted him out when he got knocked out
35:41
by uh Bobby green you know and it was one of those things where was he was the
35:46
huge favorite and he got knocked down and that is when you get the worst people coming after you all the
35:53
flip-flop fans all the like media pundit saying that oh we thought this guy was
35:59
really good but he lost to this guy so now he sucks you know it's everyone's going to tell you the wrong things
36:07
except for the people who are really in your circle the people who really care for you the people who who are you know
36:13
providing for you and you're providing for them and I love to see that appreciation for the spouses cuz they
36:19
deal with the shittiest of the [ __ ] they see people at their absolute worst at
36:25
their at their most Reckless they're most unattractive it is just and you
36:30
know what and they're there so I think I think that's awesome and I'm I'm always happy to see it celebrated yeah and I'm
36:36
always happy to see a dump truck celebrated too because hey the booties
36:43
are all we got like we a strae cannot
36:50
survive with with a guy who loves tits like not unless you buy him you got to
36:56
be a [ __ ] you got to be a man yeah unless you buy him I mean then there's always a compromise there's always a way
37:03
to get around but no I love I love that he's an ass man hey let's
37:09
go and I saw her face but I didn't hear the speech oh it was adorable so it's so
37:15
cute now knowing what he was saying and she's just sitting there like well and the whole Apex just started going off
37:22
they had um I think there was a I forget if they said it was a baseball football basketball team but there was there was
37:28
a team there you know at the Apex as guess and so they like they hyped it up
37:33
too like the whole the whole little Apex Arena was was cheering her dump truck on what oh my God I love it dude that's
37:40
going to go down in like their greatest fight career memories yeah for like it
37:47
has to that that's going to be top two for sure that's awesome I love that it should be
37:53
yay wholesome MMA such a good moment well I feel like we

39:16

39:23
we're not I'm happily married Jess is single and ready to mingle but not for you because you think she's a
39:31
lesbian okay um I got the real pulled up the wrong screenshot okay Astro K who's
39:39
big big commenter on the channel shouts to you Astro K uh Astro K says do you do
39:46
any special prep after a long layoff slash injury for mindset or physical
39:51
training I mean I think that's what the whole fight Camp has been and and is I'm
39:56
no stranger to Long layoffs and and injury so um what I did special for this
40:02
one though because I was out for so long and I was completely immobilized I was in I was in a boot for like five six
40:09
months like it was it was a long time um and that's not normal but the type of break that I had in my foot um it's it's
40:16
weightbearing and there's virtually no circulation I opted out of surgery so there was a lot of rehab I had to do and
40:23
I basically felt like I was starting from from Ground Zero I had a heart reset mhm um so I had to do I started
40:31
off with you know rehabbing my foot and trying to build up my my right leg again
40:36
I was able to do lifting while I was in a boot but again I'm still immobilized
40:42
so just trying to build up to where I I trusted my foot again to where I knew
40:47
that I wasn't going to do too much and then potentially like reinjure myself in another way from
40:52
overcompensating and then just started you know trying to drill started to get back into cardio and um to prepare for
40:59
being out of the Octagon for so long what I I normally don't Spar this much
41:04
but I sparred a lot this Camp just because I felt like I really needed to and I felt like it would make the
41:09
difference and I think that it's definitely served me well nice yeah hey
41:14
all right so there you go um we'll have some more questions for you in a second
41:20
and we'll look ahead to the rest of the card maybe look at a couple fights that got announced the the guy who came from
41:27
the promotion that shall not be named fighting panta and uh yeah we'll be
