0:49
bling yeah I'm on my way to uh aw tonight I'm a special guest so I'm all
0:54
blinged out I'm gonna go show out nice do you do that a wrestling um no I don't
1:01
do the wrestling thing but I hang out with the go with those guys a lot and uh I like I like the shows I take the kids
1:09
um U my girl is the uh head makeup artist for aw so we get to hang out with
1:14
everybody and have a good time okay we need to ask her to touch us up when we go to uh bkfc next time right the best
1:23
yeah she's always there she hooks up the uh ring girls and stuff too uh before the bkfc fights so she's really cool
1:30
guys I mean I feel like that would be a really nice transition for you to get into wrestling you've got you've got the
1:36
personality the style the flare like I feel like you were built for Bare knuckle boxing but you were also made
1:41
for wrestling yeah they do too they keep trying to get me they just want want
1:48
somebody to slam this [ __ ] out of me I'm I'm I'm I ain't gonna lie I'm a little
1:53
bit scared Ain no joke well I don't know if
1:59
you saw last video but uh I think Jess would be really good at WWE he knows how
2:07
to I was like no no no don't do it again don't do it again you know what the
2:13
crazy part is she's like wait no let's do it again no I I think I got it this yeah she was all about it I'm like
2:21
oh I'm so scared I'm so nervous she's like do it again do it again send me send
2:28
me oh man I I was really I was really just trying to make it on the crash pad at
2:34
that point I oh the best one I mean the one that had me laughing for days was
2:40
the the one when you said uh uh uh Mike Mike Perry's the when you did the rap
2:46
video the oh yeah better than she
2:52
did thank you thank you I mean too many people are saying
2:57
that I'm like I'm not trying to have beef with sexy red too many people are saying
3:03
that I bet she laugh too yeah yeah fight fan if she knows the people you were
3:08
talking about she you killed it oh thank you man appreciate it appreciate it yeah
3:15
so so go ahead go ahead got going on what's going on um
3:22
we're we're just chilling we don't have a big fight coming up like uh you do we were we're pretty sure you're on the
3:28
February card but we were looking for it and couldn't find it so what's going on with that yeah they're still being
3:34
pretty secretive about it so they actually talk too much about it but I do have an opponent in my sights and they
3:41
don't have a date lock down just yet but I'll be main Eventing uh one of the next two cars coming up so so uh we're gonna
3:48
have some fun um I'm training I'm I'm up in weight so I I will drop that it will
3:54
be a heavyweight fight it will be my debuting as a heavyweight and uh yeah I'm looking to have some
4:01
fun will that one be for the Bel well the way the way it's looking they want
4:08
me to prove that I can be a heavyweight Contender first and since the I've
4:14
literally smashed everybody in the 205 and the 185 division there's no need to
4:21
rush a a int belt or any type of uh there's no need for me to relinquish my
4:28
titles as of yet so I can go hang around and Bully the heavyweight guys and
4:33
still my title if I need to okay so if you can't tell us who this
4:39
matchup is and it we don't know if it's for the ballot could you tell us potentially who would be your dream
4:45
matchup in barle boxing at at any weight class um honestly I would love it if
4:52
they would let me fight Ben um it would be an amazing David and Goliath story I
4:58
have been fighting I I had my first uh martial arts uh tournament in 1988 I've been whooping asses before
5:06
Power Rangers so I believe that I could get in there and literally Shock the World with an amazing
5:14
Underdog this guy's a giant he's gonna kill Lorenzo and then I beat the [ __ ]
5:21
out of him for the whole world to see I just think it'll be Unforgettable and I would love to fight uh Ben
5:27
rthor wow yeah I I mean the uh especially since he keep woofing about
5:34
the title um he's he's got two fights in be knuckle if I I if I get a chance to
5:39
really put these hands on him and really test him and really push him I think that there will no longer be uh title
5:47
talks for him I think I can just send him on into retirement nice nice I mean your last
5:55
fight seemed like David and Goliath already so the fact that guy was was huge Chris kamazi he he was huge and for
6:04
you to go up I mean that's it's just impressive that you want to first of all but um I feel like the Optics of that
6:12
would be really crazy as well yeah It's Tricky um like I said I've been fighting
6:18
so long I'm so good at it I'm so natural at it that if I showed you the fight
6:24
game plan pre fight for Chris kzi you will be like it was like I scripted it
6:30
he had I came all the way from Florida all the way to Denver fought him in his
6:37
backyard stood right in the middle and said what you gonna do now and he did not want to clear he did not want to
6:44
close the distance he he he felt that that that viciousness that I possess
6:49
matter of fact got the props ready there he
6:56
goes so you know when we say David and Goliath we got to remember it was a
7:03
stone a little Pebble that took him out and uh the best at throwing I'm the best
7:10
at throwing stones so you say you started um back before Power Rangers but
7:16
you only started MMA in 2015 so what were you doing in that span of time um
7:25
well I was I was doing a little bit of everything um I actually went to prison
7:31
for about 10 years um but before that I was like you know picking ass I did ta
7:38
kwondo I was a karate guy um I did some some martial arts tournaments and um
7:46
when I came home I got right back into it I started uh doing uh self-defense
7:52
classes and teaching and and all while I was down I really really stayed
7:57
physically in shape I went to bed early I drank my milk I I didn't get the party
8:03
I didn't get to see none of my twinnies like everybody else spent all that time partying and drinking um never drank
8:10
Never Smoke um ran Miles and Miles every day push-ups I literally trained like I
8:15
knew I would come home and become the world champion and I did wow
8:21
wow so when you got your start into into MMA and then transitioned into barck
8:28
boxing I guess what was the driving force to get you into it because I I as a mixed martial artist have no desire to
8:33
do baroa boxing but there's just it's there's a certain type of of person that is very driven towards it and and you
8:40
seem like you were just tailor made for it so how did you find your way um I I had a fledgling family and um I was
8:48
doing um bear knuckle and I I didn't really pick up on the jiujitsu aspect I
8:53
never wrestled I never wrestled in high school I never really learned the grappling part but I had nine Kos as a
9:00
amateur and I had four my first four fights were Kos as a pro I didn't start losing in MMA until guys started taking
9:07
me down and once they started taking me down it just didn't stop so um so I I
9:13
just was about you know after that I was about maybe 35 36 and I just was like I'm too old for this I got a business
9:20
I'll I'll step down you know and then um I got a call from uh Dada down in Miami
9:27
and they just was like bro bear knuckles just was legalized uh you're a dog we've seen all your fights you've been
9:33
knocking everybody out in Florida you know um you can do this and uh I was
9:39
like yeah let's go d i uh gave me a a large check larger than I had made in
9:45
the in the in my little career at MMA um he gave me the the biggest check and
9:52
then after that Dave gave me a bigger one and then the next one was even bigger so um I hate to sound so simple
10:00
but you know coming from where I came from and then trying to make it work and
10:05
trying to stay out of trouble and trying not to ever go back and of course you
10:11
know fighting is my past hard so why not do it and get paid for
10:17
it no I love that I love hearing that um it doesn't their hands in
10:24
prison what did you say sorry nobody wraps your hands for you in prison
10:30
there you go so that's so is that is that the key is that the
10:36
best conditioning oh man so you gotta tell us why you went to why you went to
10:41
present if you feel comfortable no I'm comfor with it because um like I said I was actually wrongfully convicted and I
10:48
did a long C trial and I had to fight for my [ __ ] life but it took so long
10:55
to get it straight that eventually I I timed out and and the case continued and
11:01
thank God that I was able to REM manage my life I went into that place knowing
11:07
that I was innocent so I never became guilty of heart so I I studied my ass
11:12
off I trained my ass off I taught guys how to read I was a college student you know what I mean I I I've been to
11:19
college I graduated so all that time sitting there just just praying to get
11:25
out just praying to get a chance to prove that I'm not some bum some weird
11:31
uh criminal that you could just throw away and forget about and when I came home I showed the world I mean when I
11:39
say I showed the world I mean I showed the world you can't just throw me away wow
11:49
you can't just throw me away I love that I I already loved you as a fighter just from watching your
11:55
highlights and your your pre-fight videos and everything but hearing that backstory that's so inspirational
12:02
there's so many people who have been in your shoes and just let that crush them and let let you know the government or
12:09
whoever decide their future and you were able to turn that around so Bravo to you
12:15
yeah I mean it it is a story and I get chills too every time I tell it because like I know when I when I said after
12:21
Mike Richmond you know he Pok me in the eye and beat me up a little bit and I was able to come out with that win and I
12:26
told him I said you know I've been to Hell already I brought some of it back with
12:32
me and I'm going to show everybody how hot it is how much pressure it is how
12:37
much hell I've been through in order to burn this personality and this person
12:47
this realness into reality I'm not a actor I'm not acting when I punch people
12:54
in the face when I say I'll [ __ ] you up or I'll beat you within the inch of your life I'm not acting I'm serious as hell
13:01
because for so long it's been life or death for me so when guys do the face
13:07
off right and they're trying to intimidate me I've been where the worst people in
13:16
society go I've had star Downs with real killers real psychopaths how you going
13:23
to scare me so when I say I'm going to heavyweight and when I say I'm taking this [ __ ]
13:30
over I'm not playing I'm not joking I'm not you know and and uh it's just it's
13:38
just like I say that part of me you can't you can't you can't get away from it when it's time to work I just go
13:44
right into right into work ni one of my next
13:51
questions I'm like we gotta clip that out that's the promo for the fight right there love
13:57
it that that was really that was going to be my next question is you know I I see such drive and perseverance and
14:04
determination in everything that you do and I was going to ask where it came from but I mean it's just just hearing
14:11
that it it's no wonder you've you've been through so much you've overcome so much and that's just a piece of who you are and I love that you show yourself so
14:20
authentically and present yourself so well it's just it's um it's really easy to connect with you as a person it's
14:26
really easy to get behind you as a fighter yeah thanks I appreciate that for the
14:31
longest time um people visualize me as the villain but if you really pay
14:37
attention to what was going on in the bkfc and in the in the makings of it I
14:42
was a nice guy I was kicking ass before Hector Lumbard punched me in the face and before Mike Richmond threatened to
14:49
slap me and before I shoved a a tomato in Joe rig's mouth I was a nice guy
14:55
those guys kept messing with me and of course one of the things I know is how
15:02
to fan the Flames of aggression if you give me a tiny spark I will burn your
15:10
[ __ ] down with your own spark I didn't start it but I'll finish it that's just
15:15
how that's just how I survive well I really want to hear yes
15:21
I've been begging JZ I'm like do you know the story cuz I need to know the story about the tomato and face like a h
15:29
it was so ridiculous like it's the last thing you'd think would happen to you at a face off and you pulled it off like
15:37
Bugs Bunny in a cartoon like it was so hilarious I had to know the story it's
15:43
so many elements to that story that you would look back at it and think it was
15:49
planned it honest to God wasn't so um I had to cut cut a lot of weight I cut to
15:56
185 and I'm naturally 230 so I do like this all fruit all
16:01
vegetable all juicing diet for 40 days in order to make 185 and then I go to
16:09
the place where I'm fighting early about two weeks early and I train there and
16:15
I'm flying around with my juicer and my bag and a and and and a luggage full of vegetables and everybody thinks I'm
16:20
crazy but I have to make weight you know CH Championship weight and so I just so
16:26
happened to run into Joe rigs at Home Depot when I was jogging around and
16:32
and grabbing stuff from my outfit I ran into Joe Rigs and when he seen me he was super nice and I couldn't even be a dick
16:40
towards somebody who was nice because like I said I need a spark and so he was super nice and then the next day during
16:46
the interview he were like yeah I seen him at Home Depot you know I had my gun
16:53
I could have [ __ ] you know in right then he was talking so reckless I was
16:59
looking at the camera like you were the nicest guy if I had known you would be
17:04
an [ __ ] today I would have slapped you in your mouth and he said I was
17:09
planting my tomatoes I wasn't thinking about you I don't care about Lorenzo hunt I gotta plant my tomatoes before it
17:16
[ __ ] frost over and so when I tried to talk he kept screaming I was planting tomatoes I was
17:23
PL Tomatoes I was PL tomatoes so it it kind of went viral before the wavs ah
17:28
okay so then at the weins I brought a tomato you know and I was just gonna
17:34
like pay homage that Viral moment where he lost his [ __ ] during an interview
17:39
talking about tomatoes everybody's like what's wrong with Joe and when I brought it I was eating and he literally tried
17:47
to punk me now mind you I just cut the last 10 of the 185 and I'm kind
17:56
of and so I'm eating this tomato and he flinches at me he says give me that damn
18:03
tomato just like that oh I'm too drunk to care I'm like eat
18:12
it and just I swear it was organic I had not planned to put a tomato in his face
18:19
look at it he literally says give me that damn tomato you gave it to him you
18:26
sure did and it went in deep I mean like Thro
18:32
like it was coming out of his nose it was bad it was real bad and like
18:39
everybody's like you know he didn't even Flinch but I was so drained I couldn't Flinch I just was like I eat
18:50
it smth but it was smooth though it it turned out to be you know bigger than I
18:56
than I than I intended it to be I thought it was pretty funny but Joe hates me he he hates my
19:03
gut oh man and then that did you see how it ended the fight just with yes yeah
19:12
yes like that five down like a movie
19:20
oh yeah I mean I would be super embarrassed if just the Tomato thing happened to me
19:27
he had to viral knockout me toos just can you stop SM I smoked him and um and honestly I
19:36
had no beef with uh Joe rigs it wasn't his fault what happened um it it actually all was Hector lumbar fault
19:44
they reached out to Joe Rigs and literally placed him in my spot as the number one Contender even though I had
19:51
double the fights double the wins double The Knockouts I was like six and one or seven and one at the time Joe R was two-
19:57
one and they gave gave him a title fight because Hector was scared to fight H so
20:03
Joe's like hey you know it's just a paycheck for me know sorry you know move out of the way I'm gonna I'm gonna fight
20:09
Hector so then when uh Hector beat him then I beat up Hector then Joe rigs
20:15
comes back and tries to get the title and gets beat up so everybody who's literally gotten in my way or tried to
20:21
stop me just gets beat up and it's that's my
20:27
job and you do it so well yeah that's that's just my job and I'm gonna keep
20:32
doing it too and that's why I would like to fight uh being Rothwell because right
20:37
now being as big as he is and as seemingly Unstoppable he is I believe
20:43
that my skill set I can embarrass him I can embarrass him I mean beat him bad
20:49
and um and it'll change the Dynamics of the entire weight division I'll have
20:55
respect as the only ever three Division
21:01
champion reigning defending simultaneous three division at one time there's never been
21:09
another in bck history so I'm I'm coming for it I'm coming for it they gonna have to shoot
21:16
me like Joe rigs wanted to right oh my gosh is there another champ
21:25
champ say that again is there another champ champ and there was um um um Louis
21:32
Palamino did get the first chance to uh challenge for the 165 belt he wanton it
21:38
from um from Elvin buredo in a um in a in
21:44
like no oh no oh no oh he's right
21:49
back pop him right back
21:54
on oh you got me I think we're both clicking at the same
22:01
time so Louis Palamino out of Miami he he he was the first uh two division
22:06
champ and uh he's nine and0 so he's never lost so he is the number one um pound-for-pound in the world right now
22:13
I'm Number Two because I do have a loss on my on my record but I'm 11 and um I'm
22:18
11 and one for the promotion 12- one overall and so until he
22:26
loses I'm number two just because he's undefeated but uh he's no longer the
22:32
double Division champion because he relinquished one title and uh I think they're gonna fight for it again though
22:38
okay he was at the um when I was at the Salt Lake City card uh supporting my
22:44
friend Beck uh Luis Palamino was standing up at the press conference
22:50
trying to get the next after whoever won between yeah I I didn't I didn't see a
22:58
clear path to that actually happening but I appreciate it that he's just you know so willing to step up and and get
23:03
in there and and challenge the upper weight classes but I just don't know if that would actually happen yeah uh Mike
23:10
Perry is an anomaly in um the bkfc um
23:15
he's new he's Sensational he's black
23:21
he's you said it very he's very smart he holds a
23:28
special place in bkfc and I don't mind it I know who I am I'm the gatekeeper
23:36
I'm the best in the world nobody's gonna argue that Mike Perry is the most
23:41
Sensational in the world he's he's literally bringing numbers in like paisan's a did so I'm not gonna get in
23:48
his way that's for damn sure and and we also train together we both fought in Florida in MMA both came up together we
23:55
both trained together so I know all his tricks and he knows some of mine so I think I'm going to stay out of his way
24:02
while he continues to be successful and do his thing I don't have any grip with that I'm going a heavyweight I got my
24:08
own path he's got his and uh like I said as until somebody challenges for the 185
24:15
title or the 205 title you won't you won't see me um um breaking losing any
24:21
weight anytime soon right now I'm 234 well you just kind of crushed my
24:27
dreams because that would have been like my dream bar knuckle boxing matchup is between you and Mike Perry I think that
24:34
would be the most incredible probably like highest pay-per-view um numbers ever in barle
24:41
boxing history but now you just
24:46
thanks I like Mike Perry I've trained with Mike Perry I don't think it's a
24:52
good matchup we are the size differences is ridiculous
24:59
now that's not saying he can't hurt me because I'm going to heavyweight and those guys are bigger than me but I like
25:04
what he's doing I like that he's calling out big names I like that he's bringing attention to the to the show so you
25:10
won't hear no gripes from me I want to be the three Division champion and fighting Mike Perry won't do that for
25:17
me understood so a huge announcement just got made with baroa boxing getting
25:24
sanctioned in California do you have any thoughts on that and what do you think about possibly getting sanctioned in Las
25:31
Vegas Main Event baby we on the way we
25:37
but like I said as the news comes out and everything comes out you guys will see me front and center uh splashing all
25:45
across the West Coast uh continuing to exert my dominance over the bkfc and
25:51
like I said you they somebody better bring a gun C I'm not
25:59
g I'm not gonna stop I believe you yeah and I think
26:06
everyone wants to see it too aside from your opponents people want to see that happen I would love the come up uh
26:14
watching like the buildup of you versus Ben rotha like that I think that would be really fun just because he's a little
26:22
awkward but he he he like gets his point across you know he talks a little bit
26:28
I pitched it to uh to the to the top brass and and for the most part
26:34
everybody still kind of takes me as a joke going to heavyweight but after I
26:41
did to Chris czi with 50 plus pro fights 30 UFC fights World been around the
26:49
world seeing me just completely handled that situation with such Poise such
26:55
control it was not a split decision I don't care nobody say I had a 100%
27:01
strike ratio if you go back and look at it I never missed not to the body not to
27:06
the head I never missed so and so so like I said like uh other
27:13
than giving him you know the hometown bump a point or two um they call it a split decision but it was just was an
27:18
ass whooping if you ask me and then for me to go to heavyweight and do the same thing to somebody else who's bigger and
27:25
better than me in the heavyweight division I'm going to smoke them and then they're going to be like well we
27:31
really don't have a choice thanks uh aside from uh not
27:38
having gloves in present what do you think is really that thing that gives
27:43
you your Edge because you do have a very unique style and I think a lot of people who go from MMA to Bare knuckle or go
27:51
from boxing the bare knuckle they feel like they're going to figure it out once they get in there and then there's a lot
27:57
of of things that surprise you so what do you think is the thing that you can get off over people like Chris kamazi as
28:04
soon as you start fighting yeah mostly it's my courage Under Fire um you're
28:10
throwing punches in and you're afraid and I'm throwing punches and I'm Not Afraid um it's also my my the inability
28:19
to intimidate me um I'm not afraid I'm not I don't have stage fright I'm as
28:26
calm as I am in my living room so when I'm in that ring I'm literally defending my house it's no different than if you
28:32
came in my front door I don't care what you weigh because I won't be able to weigh you on the streets I don't care if
28:37
you have gloves on or not because I won't be we won't be able to put gloves on on the streets I don't care about
28:43
none of that and as far as I'm concerned there are no rules I've seen too much bull to let you convince me that a be
28:52
knuckle fight has rules so when I go in there I'm just as wild and fear
28:58
as I was in prison afraid I might not make it home after this confrontation and that's what that's the edge that I
29:05
have it's not a game to me you guys think it's a game you think it's a sport
29:10
it's not a sport you want to know what the difference why I don't believe that bear knuckle is a sport or will ever be
29:17
a sport because in sports you have
29:22
protective gear in boxing you have gloves because it's a sport in football
29:28
you have a helmet because it's a sport when you take off the gloves and take
29:33
off the helmet it's no longer a sport it's life or
29:40
death every other sport heavy no we're both we're both just like [ __ ] never
29:47
thought never thought about it that way but it's true it's it's not a sport to me so and um
29:56
whatever happens in there happens and then I just and then I get lucky a few times you
30:03
know that's always part of it yeah I get lucky your time too you know it helps
30:09
yeah timing meets preparation in my book exactly yeah I train hard I love
30:16
training I have my own gym in Jacksonville Florida where I train guys every day twice a day so I'm literally
30:22
training six hours a day three hours in the morning three hours at night four days a week I have a class in here with
30:28
Pro Fighters I have a few Pro Fighters here now training for for fights so I'm literally in Camp all year
30:35
around in Camp all year round it's no problem for me so um like I
30:41
said yeah they better get a something big
30:47
something I'm coming I'm coming do you think without your past oh
30:54
do you think without your past experience I think we're at lag just a tiny lag sorry but uh do you think with
31:00
your past experience would you be as comfortable uh in the cage like under
31:06
Fire like if you never had to fight for your life if you never had to
31:11
sorry you hear me now oh oh no problem no problem
31:19
um oh you good I think he has to answer his call
31:28
he's a busy man yeah well we're taking up his time for free so we appreciate
31:33
him for that [Laughter]
31:41
absolutely if y'all can fix that or not okay but
31:47
uh yeah yeah I'm sorry if you guys can fix that or not but I'm super dad too so
31:53
I got my kids getting out of school and stuff oh you're all good if you you need pop off or do that stuff you're good we
32:01
appreciate you being here um but I was going to ask uh do you think um your
32:06
past has given you that confidence in there knowing that you've survived so
32:12
much you can go in and face anything or did you always have that grit about you back before before all that happened um
32:20
it's a little bit of both I always had it I was a star
32:25
athlete like I said I I I did um Olympic level Taekwondo I did uh kmo karate I
32:32
trophied I always builded I I was this is my thing but the confidence as a man
32:39
as a man that can stand on my own two feet you could drop me anywhere on Earth and I'll be fine yeah that came from
32:46
that came from in there you know what I mean from to go through that and then like I said having to beat yourself up
32:53
over something you didn't do and then still having the word withth all to take
32:59
whatever good you could from the situation and incorporate it into your personality while throwing out the junk
33:07
because there's a lot of junk that tries to get in tries to bend your personality into some something that you may not
33:13
even be or someone that you may not be um but overall like I said there is a
33:19
little bit of a switch and you'll see it kind of like when Mike Perry said I'll
33:24
slap you in your mouth I don't even remember slapping him and like tearing
33:31
up the stage like there is a button that you can press that will take me back to
33:36
that very dark place but for the most part I'm just a great father a great
33:44
teacher and I love the routine of training every day and I play like a kid
33:50
I never really grew up so I don't drink I don't smoke I don't party won't catch me out late in clubs or or Gam
33:57
I'm just a big kid but I I'm like a really big kid [Laughter]
34:06
now uh we don't want to take up too much more of your time but I do have one final question what I guess what is your
34:14
like favorite thing about bar knuckle and then what is the least favorite like there's always something you know
34:19
there's always a give and take in in sports and what we do um in be knuckle
34:29
I've figured out a way to use my martial arts and the Open
34:37
Hand of bare knuckle boxing the different strikes that are possible it's
34:44
all martial arts stuff people forgot about the 59 punches of death and the 32
34:52
Fists of Fury that was a reason there's so many things that you can do do with
34:57
the human hand and and now that I am the best be
35:03
knuckle boxer in the world I'm also a world class martial artist again
35:12
um the uh the um the art of daily Survivor magazine is one of the top
35:19
martial arts magazines in the country and they reached out to me because they remembered me and they were like that's
35:26
the and they did an article about me and you can find it on Amazon you can find it on
35:31
you know and and they they wrote about what happened how I Disappeared why I disappeared and they just and and now
35:38
that I'm back I'm still I still got it and so yeah the bare knuckle um David
35:44
Felman those guys legalized bare knuckle and gave me a chance to to to continue
35:50
on the path of a true martial artist true discipline if you watch my fights
35:55
they don't look like any other fights I'm not out there whing I'm not out there just throwing and praying I'm out
36:02
there doing my Cs and it's working it's working well and and I have
36:11
a I have a edge on everybody because of it you know because I was breaking boards as a kid because I was doing
36:17
knuckle push-ups already when I was in junior high school because you know those things that people forgot about
36:23
Karate Kid wax on wax off the the Power Rangers you know that was before that
36:30
was before MMA you know we were we were we were karate kids before we were Ninja Turtles before MMA and and everybody
36:38
forgot about the martial arts aspect of it and I get to bring it back to life nice yeah they need to call you for that
36:46
remake of The Last Dragon if they ever do that man that would be that' be
36:53
awesome yeah this you can play every character
36:59
that's my favorite yeah I remember watching uh your fight with uh Mike
37:04
Richmond and the commentators go oh he just threw kind of a sloppy punch as he
37:10
was coming in was right after you got knocked down and I was just like come on you know that know that was it was
37:17
straight over the shoulder like right the that was that was the
37:24
cleanest so clean and and the crazy part about it is I've
37:29
been Landing that against lefties I've fought seven of the nine guys that I've
37:36
knocked out in a row were lefties soon as they wind up to throw that left hook
37:42
soon as they wind up to throw that right hook they get smacked with a straight
37:47
and I've been landed I landed on Hector he his hardhead but just didn't go down Mike rman ran straight into it and it
37:54
was literally a nightmare it was it I'm glad he woke up like I said I'm glad he
38:00
woke up it was like a train wreck it was scary for a second that that was a hard knockout I I think I was watching that
38:06
one with Angela and that was that was a hard one everybody in America jumped up
38:13
when they saw that like oh my God it was bad yeah and I was there for him when I looked down at him I thought he was
38:22
dead tell the truth I think a lot of people did I mean I'm laughing but it wasn't funny
38:29
at the time it really wasn't like like he made me he made me he made me kill
38:34
him he was trying to kill me like he was trying to take me out and I like I I
38:40
don't usually have to use that much that much of my power that much of my Force you know martial arts is all about
38:46
control and when I hit him I said ah
38:54
damn yeah so I don't think we'll see that rematch I don't think people recover from that know I mean it's too
39:01
close has he fought since then have I fought since then yeah Chris he fought he fought yeah he actually fought Dave M
39:09
and um he um he got back he got it bad and uh when I did the pre-fight um kind
39:16
of um assessment of what our fight would be I literally said either Dave either
39:23
Mike Richmond will make me knock him straight out or he's just toughed enough
39:30
to make me torture him until there's nothing left and he got both me I
39:37
knocked him out and then dve Mandell tortured him so like I said I don't I don't think we'll see him
39:43
anymore yeah that's a ref run yeah that's a ref yeah and he was doing
39:48
really well before you too and I I have this belief that once you get knocked out once it's really hard to come back
39:56
from that immediately especially against another Power puncher so he kind of did his work for him like that might have
40:02
been uh a decision win for him if it if you hadn't fought him first yeah it it
40:09
was it was critical I think he took that fight just because I said he was done I said well you're never coming back and
40:16
then he just came back to spite me but he probably should have just took my advice and just and just walked it off
40:22
because that was even worse you know that was even worse for morale and I've seen some pictures of him he's blowed up
40:28
pretty big and he's he's kind of happy in his job right now and I wish him the best he's a good guy um I just uh I just
40:35
don't think I don't think there's much left left in there maybe he's going up the
40:41
heavyweight [Laughter]
40:50
too oh it's funny yeah but guys are amazing I'm
40:57
getting ready to start class my people are coming in they looking like hey what's up so uh yeah I'm in Jacksonville
41:03
Florida we do um I teach uh bear knuckle boxing tactics and self-defense um we do
41:09
this uh four days a week uh six hours a day and it's uh it's amazing it's called
41:15
Juggernaut Life Fitness and if you guys want to look me up look me up if you go to www. Jugger hunt.com you can drop me
41:22
some likes check out my my veterans page and um and uh reach out to and I always text back so all right we'll do good
41:30
thank you so much for your time thank you having me thanks for the interview we'll be looking out for your
41:37
next one we'll we'll try we'll try by that look at that look like a look like
41:42
a foot don't it look like a foot I'm trying to get there get it looks like it
41:48
hurts that's what it looks look like get hurt oh man hey I've heard that before
41:54
Jess I've heard that
42:01
goodbye what a sign off oh my goodness oh my goodness he's the best he's
42:07
amazing I did not know that about his past and I'm really happy that he gave
42:13
us the time to talk about it because that's I mean this this country there are so many men who are accused of doing
42:22
something they didn't do they end up caught up in the system for a long long time and luckily uh his um his career
42:31
wasn't tarnished by it he was able to like take it take something bad and turn it around and turn it into greatness I I
42:38
really love what he's doing with his with his fighting with his just way of carrying himself and promoting and
42:46
everything that was that was a really awesome interview no he um when I got to meet
42:52
him in Salt Lake City I was just like man we have to talk to this guy he's just he's so inspiring and for somebody
42:57
to have the story that he does and it didn't his past didn't Define him it
43:03
didn't break him down it it built him up to the man he is today um I just think it's uh he's a great role model I think
43:11
he's um just somebody to really admire and hold high and I think um what he's doing is really incredible it is if I'm
43:19
ever in where is it Jacksonville if I'm ever out there I might have to do a bare knuckle class that might be fun you
43:27
should that could be that could be maybe a little two straws Adventure we we go
43:33
train it we don't fight it but we'll just go train it just just pretend just
43:39
put on the cute clothes you know like my fa has lasted a lot of battles with
43:44
gloves on without I don't want to push M
43:51
yeah I've been pretty lucky up to this point but I gotta say need to push it we
43:57
don't need to push it but our Girl Beck she heals like freaking Wolverine like I
44:03
don't know how she gets into these bare knuckle fights win or lose she'll come
44:08
out two weeks later looking like a model she has this model look to her
44:15
looks like she's walking around with a filter or something yeah it must be the azy son something about that just keeps
44:22
you glowing something yeah but it's a brutal sport but I I have nothing but uh
44:28
admiration and respect for for everyone who participates I just I think it's one of the toughest Sports it's um
44:35
absolutely brutal but um when I see when I see Fighters like Lorenzo like Beck in
44:41
there and they are you know they're Savages but they are technical Savages I
44:46
I just think it's really impressive um you know seeing how um how he builds up
44:53
the fights I expect him to be just you know a crazy brawler in there but he
44:58
he's smart he uses um all of his technical prowess like it's it's a
45:03
really a pleasure to watch him fight yeah it's kind of like the Conor McGregor thing you forget because of all
45:09
the outside Antics that this guy actually knows how to fight his ass off
45:14
and it's almost a good tactic you're playing those war games with the with the Mind those mind games and people
45:20
walk right into that trap like uh like for Richmond we were talking about earlier so that was really awesome
45:27
interview love talking to him can't wait to see who he's fighting next I
45:33
know I thought we were gonna get some news I know but we gotta
45:40
wait maybe on the next one yeah all right guys this has been
45:46
another episode of two straws uh we'll keep them coming with our our bi-weekly
45:51
check-in and our uh bi-weekly interviews so see y' I know right
45:59
so so far yet so near uh we'll see you next time let us know who you want us to
