Tai Tham script is a Dai writing system used in Southwest China. It bears strong resemblance to Thailand's Lanna script yet has its own distinctions. Due to its complicated structure, the Chinese government created a new writing system for the Dai people. Nowadays, Tai Tham script is only used in specific fields.
