Hey, I'm Jocelyn and this is my friend Donna and today we're going to make some cocktails
0:05
and some little snacky-do things and just kind of like some things that you would do
0:11
you know for a party and we're going to try to make it pretty and easy because life's
0:16
too hard. You need everything to be easy. Especially cocktails. Yeah, absolutely
0:20
So why don't you go ahead and start with your drink? I don't feel like mine is, yours is much more easy
0:28
Mine has so many. That's right. Well, it's a quarantini, right? Well, I called my quarantini because when we started quarantining, suddenly we had a run to the liquor store
0:43
So it was literally like, oh my gosh, what do we have in our liquor cabin
0:46
And we came up with this. So it's a mixture of basically it's a kind of a glorified dry martini with a little something special
0:55
so i'm making a double batch because my husband wants why not just make a quadruple batch you know
1:02
so for a double batch i'm doing four shots of really good
1:07
the biggest it helps if you get the biggest bottle possible right absolutely and let it
1:14
live in the freezer all the time yeah so that it ready when you are how what are your feelings on Vermouth on Martin Originally if you want to get into the history of martinis martinis used to be mostly vermouth with a splash of vodka so I good with a large amount
1:32
That's essentially how I like my martinis. I know, other people out there
1:36
My husband, not so much. Yeah, people might think they're kind of crazy. So I'm doing a full one for two martinis
1:43
If I was making a single, I would go about half. Okay. Good, squeezable
1:48
All right. and then this is this is the extra so this is the saint germain liquor which is essentially
1:56
it's an elderberry liqueur are there other elderberry liqueurs probably or is this like
2:02
that that's the one you should get because um i live by saint germain like i i love it you know
2:09
don't you wish you could kind of like bottle that make a perfume oh we should find some like elderberry
2:13
perfumes. I bet when I go take one of those perfume making classes in Paris that I can find
2:19
that. You can always go back and add more later if you decide that
2:23
it's not sweet enough for you. So now I'm just going to
2:27
taste the goodness. Awesome. Yours is so yours well. Alright, would that just one ounce
2:35
of Saint Germain? Yes, for two drinks. But again, if you want
2:39
it sweeter, go heavier You can't mess up the quarantine. So if it all alcohol it pretty easy So um my drink is slightly easier This is my favorite thing to drink during the summer
2:56
Um, Deep Eddie's Lemon Vodka. You have to, whoop, hello. I have to kind of shake it. Shake it up
3:02
Um, and I, it's this and some Limoncello La Croix. I love the Limoncello
3:10
Mark Lemon. Right. Because she knows about this. Mark yesterday, I said, go get me some Limoncello La Croix, please
3:17
And he's like, okay. And he comes home with lemon. And I'm like, no, you crushed me
3:21
So this is about an ounce. Let's just do two. Because you know what
3:30
It's two. We're just going to be happy with that. Absolutely. This one, there's no measuring
3:35
There's no measuring. Because it all just tastes so tasty, tasty. and then top it with another couple ounces of lemon cello and that's it so when you make cocktails
3:46
if you put the mixer in last it kind of um that's not quite even it kind of does the mixing for you
3:53
so you don't really have to worry about it although i am a huge fan of stir sticks i have a pile of
3:57
them at my house i love that old school little stir stick in my cocktails so all right i want to
4:02
try yours here you can try mine trade these and these are the perfect margini glasses aren they They pretty Well I also don drop them nearly as easily yeah cheers oh that is good it not bad right and this is oh yeah no and the vermouth is a nice it adds a
4:24
little bit of depth to it because the other thing you know the san germain is really light and floral
4:29
yeah big fan i might just drink this whole thing now my hubs also did a version with gin
4:34
You can do a gin martini with the same proportions and everything, but I'm a vodka martini person
4:41
Yeah, I'm not a huge gin girl. I got really sick on it once. Haven't we all
4:46
It was like, you know, I was 22, and it was miserable. But Saint-Germain in the 20s was a big thing
4:54
and it went with a lot of gin drinks because they were making tons of bathtub gin back then
4:58
So you'll find a lot of gin drinks that have Saint-Germain in them
5:02
Awesome. Cheers. I love it. Cheers to you and this. And we're going to drink a little while
5:08
and then we're going to make some other things too for you. It's good
5:15
I love that. This is so summery. You should totally sit down by the pool and drink a pile of these
5:21
And I didn't even get into it, but the limoncello on top of this turns it into like a spritzer
5:27
I could do that. I'm afraid if I drink all of that, I'm going to be one drunk
5:31
Yeah, you have to do like halfsies. that's why we need snacks now I'm just going to go back and forth
