Hey, I'm Jocelyn and this is my dear friend Sandra and we are back for another Friday cocktail
0:06
Today I'm a little trepidatious because we are doing another gin cocktail and y'all know I am not the world's biggest gin fan
0:14
However, to redeem itself, this cocktail called the Bramble has Chambord, which is absolutely one of my favorite liqueurs of all time
0:22
So I'm going to let you go ahead and talk about how you're going to do all this
0:28
And we'll see if you can win me over. Okay. We'll see. I think you're going to like this because I know you love lemon and lemonade
0:35
And I know you love Chambord. Those beautiful, fruity, berry flavors. Like fruity, not super sugary
0:43
And good Lord, y'all, she just put two ounces of gin in this. Two ounces of gin
0:48
So I think that if it was one ounce, I might like it more. Oh, yeah
0:52
Just don't judge. I'm going to put in one ounce of mayo
0:57
Ooh, that was perfect. Right on the money there. And then I going to take two bar spoons of Symbol That good because I was a little worried you were going to put like half an ounce or something and I was like eek So let talk about bar spoons Typically when you buy a set with your shaker like your tin and your measuring or mixing cup and all those things often you get a bar spoon with it Otherwise a proper like this is an iced tea spoon or you like
1:33
an iced beverage spoon. In the silver industry, they call them iced tea spoons. In the South, we just call them
1:39
iced tea spoons. Because what else do you use it with but iced tea? And also
1:44
you know, as a bar spoon. So we're using that for bar spoon. So this is just a little bit, typically, they're just a
1:49
little different amount than what you would have for, like, your teaspoon
1:53
Like, you know, the spoon that you actually eat with, it's just a little bit bigger
1:58
than this. So if you don't have this, don't worry about it just use a regular old spoon it'll be fine right so we've got our gin
2:05
our lemon right simple so she got ice in here but we already put fresh ice in this that is all nice and frosty this is the best summer drink oh my gosh maybe not the best but it a really really great summer i know you gonna have to see if you can win me over because
2:27
essentially what you have is lemonade with gin okay so it's a gin lemonade with a shambord
2:35
are we gonna float it or just mix it right in we're going to sort it
2:39
it's not very nice. We're going to bleed it in. We're going to bleed it in. We're going to bleed
2:45
it in. Yeah. Let's just puncture it and bleed it right in. So we're going to take our one half ounce
2:56
Okay. Half an ounce of Chambord. Now you can use from DeCassee also, but I am using Chambord
3:04
because I like it better, and I think it makes a better drink, frankly
3:10
I would, I prefer Chambord. I know. So, good draw. I just altered this partly, partly because of you, Jess
3:17
Because you love me. So, I'm just going to like... Isn't that pretty
3:21
Look how it just kind of... Drizzle that in. It is like it bleeding in I love how it shifts through the ice there ice there So you have already I want to prepare just blackberry Sager really good Um if you can always get that
3:36
garnish because the garnish really does add to the flavor and the smell of the drink, um, have that
3:40
done beforehand. So you're, especially when it's like this and you've got crushed ice, you don't
3:45
want it melting, right? Yeah. You don't want your drink, we'll take you while you're off. Right. Okay. So we've talked enough
3:50
Let me, let me check. That's pretty good. See? Well, all right then
4:01
So I'm going to say that like the gin is in there and I taste that juniper thing that happens
4:07
but it's kind of lemonade-y. And then of course, and I'm at the top, so I'm not getting a ton of the chambord
4:14
And you can stir it if you want. But it's a sweet, oh, but it's so pretty like that
4:18
It's so pretty like that. But if you want to just dig that chameleon bear flavor up to the top, you're allowed to
4:25
So this is a really pretty cocktail. And actually, I think somebody should serve this at their wedding
4:30
So the Bramble is excellent. And we'll have another excellent cocktail next Friday
4:36
So we'll see you then. Cheers. Bye
