Bad things happen to purify us

good

morning so today is the uh Feast of the

presentation in the Catholic church and

I like uh watching Bishop Baron

talk and

um today in the Gospel

reading in uh or the readings for the

mass are about um there's some

purification going on and uh you know

silver and gold being purified by fire

and uh the Fuller using lie to clean

things and the way he was explaining it

and it resonated with me

was God

is doing these things to purify us to

make us ready for heaven

right um back in

2019 I was diagnosed with brain

cancer and I'm uh I'm in my early 30s so

I was in my 20s

then that was a a bit of a shocker at

the time and going through it I

um you know it was a lot but looking

back on it and I think even at at the

time I realized that I needed that to

happen to

me and um

I was

in I'll say just a bad place

physically spiritually

habitually probably the worst place I've

been in my entire

life and there was not really anything

that was going to change my

ways I was I was pretty stubborn I still

am stubborn but I was

set that changed my way

getting cancer going through

that reshaped my entire life for the

better and I say it and I'll say it till

the day I die I wouldn't have it any

other

way I would never choose to not get

cancer and I know that sounds

insane and some people probably doesn't

make any

sense but that

was purifying that I needed in my life

it was the only way it was the medicine

I needed and God was the

doctor and

um so I just encourage

you and I I'm encouraging myself too

that there's going to be difficult times

in our lives where things just don't

make sense in the

moment but
