I made a mistake and I misjudged our
0:02
meals this week so I'm one short but
0:06
I've red the fridge and I
0:09
found half a pack of sad carrot
0:14
bons a bit of
0:17
kale some slightly dry
0:23
bacon a pack of green lentils in the
0:26
cupboard and I also have some onion and
0:28
garlic bay leaves and stuff so I'm going
0:32
to make a fancy French
0:33
broth this fancy French broth is a
0:37
really really good one it feels like
0:39
it's nourishing you from the inside out
0:42
which I think is just what we need when
0:44
the weather is colder and in the run up
0:46
to Christmas when I'm sure we're all
0:48
going to do a lot of
0:49
indulging so I started by chopping my
0:53
bacon and my onion into little pieces
0:56
frying them in some olive oil for just a
0:58
little while until the onion soften
1:00
then I went in with my carrots and
1:02
garlic again a couple more minutes just
1:05
to soften them then the lentils my bay
1:09
leaves I put some Rosemary in there and
1:12
some thyme um those are optional though
1:15
they just add some flavor then I went in
1:17
with some water a stock Cube some Dijon
1:21
mustard salt and pepper and then you
1:24
just simmer that green lentils take
1:26
about 40 minutes to cook and after that
1:29
time time and they had absorbed quite a
1:32
lot of the water so I just added a
1:34
little bit more to loosen it up to more
1:36
of a a broth consistency and I put in my
1:39
chopped cabbage and look at that that is
1:42
a chunky delicious soup full of vitamins
