Spectacular! Rain of fire - looking straight into a shower of liquid red hot lava

Close-up of liquid lava raining down from a powerful lava fountain at the eruptive fissure that opened during the recent eruption of Piton de la Fournaise volcano on La Réunion Island (Indian Ocean, France) on 15 Sep 2018. The observer is only few meters away, as close as the intense heat and danger of getting hit by lava bombs allowed.
