Harlem’s Seafood Queen Takes on Coronavirus | Street Food Icons
Tami Treadwell, the owner and chef behind the first and only eco-friendly food truck in Harlem, NYC, is fighting to keep her business functioning during the Coronavirus pandemic. Before COVID-19, Tamis shrimp and grits and po boys normally had customers lined up in front of her food cart at West 125th Street. Today, customers are not only scarce, but some of Tamis loved ones are succumbing to the virus. Tami is staying open to continue to provide for the people who depend on her and to dispense hope to her community.
