Unboxing Apple's New Foam...

This is a little bit different

This is a product from the only company in the world that could possibly sell it. This is from Apple

and it is their brand new super luxury ear cups for their AirPods Max

which are also already super luxury. I'm curious about this unboxing experience

This is a $69 USD replaceable ear cup. You can get wireless headphones for that price

and I know that's going to be a comment down in the comment section. You might be making that comment right now

but that's not all the fun we're going to have today. Actually, because you're joining me for the purpose of a sort of expensive Apple product unboxing

Isn't that wonderful? So I have been using the AirPods Max, the black version

But of course, when these ear cups finally launched, people started to mix and match their own custom luxury headphones

And that's what is inside this box right here. is the look at that the airpods max ear cushions how about the packaging there you see it's all

very tight this is the white model and that's because i've been wearing the black airpods max

i'll have a little bit more to say about these as the video progresses i do have some thoughts

some thinkings i've been using them at my desk a little bit anyway so i could do the black and white

whatever you want to call it is it the oreo or the stormtrooper or whatever i could do the black

and white setup i suppose you could do the same if you bought the black ear cups and put them on

the white headphones however my brother decided to sell the white headphones without telling me

so shout out to vin by the way all right so uh this is a premium unboxing experience It pretty much what I expected coming from Apple

You know, if you haven't seen the original video, I unboxed all the colors of the AirPods Max

including the green and the red. You should go check that out

It has a color comparison of all of them. Obviously, I test the headphones, including the spatial audio stuff

which I, you know, very immersive. I'm into it. So you have this nice stitching on the inside of the ear cup here

This is a textured fabric that they've gone with. Now there have been a couple of complaints as well

Some people suggesting that condensation builds up underneath the ear cup. I reported on some of this stuff, talked about some of this stuff

I have not experienced this stuff. I can show you on my particular set here

There's, well, there's a little bit of dust particles, but I never, I wouldn't have condensation right now because I haven't been wearing them

This is a pretty cool space in terms of temperature. And my head, which is a human head, it gets hot

Anybody's would. And so some were suggesting that because of that and the seal created in here

the hot head with the cool environment or cold metal could create condensation

I have not experienced such a thing. So maybe it's an issue with those specific users

But it's obviously not widespread enough for my personal circumstance. Maybe if I went for a jog outside in the cold

However, I wouldn't really use these for jogging. Some people will want to

Not often talked about the accent color in the bright green that Apple uses

Indicators here as well as on the sticker portion. Very nice. $69 there you go aren't you so impressed and happy look people need to understand here is

you can't tell somebody what they should and shouldn't enjoy I mean you can tell them you

can leave all the comments in the world but the fact of the matter is this company has done a tremendous job at encouraging people to partake in the brand and to enjoy their interaction with the brand to the point where people are going out of their way

to buy a $69 accessory for the brand. People buy luxury watches and purses and everything else

and they also buy these things for $550. Do I think the average person should rush out and get these

Probably not. In fact, the Sony headset that for me is pretty much just as good

maybe with the exception of the spatial component, how it works on here. Those are on sale right now

I don't know. I think they're sub $300. Yeah, I'm not necessarily recommending it

but if somebody does have the cash for a pair of these because they want to live that luxury life

then they might very well want to do this customization process as well. So let's see how that works

Left ear cup, left ear. You could do a one and one if you just wanted to be some type of rebel, I suppose

But you could also do both like that. And that's just how easy it is

Now, I will say I've been critical of this product and the price point

Obviously, it's a hard one to justify. I said that in the original video

Actually, I think I made two videos on this product so far. It's a little bit bizarre for Apple

It was maybe even more upmarket than a lot of people expected

But there are some considerations. Here's some things that I actually like

First of all, I like nice materials. These have that. Not a lot of headphones do

By nice, I just mean when you interact with it, you're kind of impressed at the tolerances and the metal components and the lack of plastic around the whole thing

That doesn't necessarily work out all that well when it comes to usability in all circumstances

it does become a heavier headphone and I do notice it on the top of the head after oh I don't know an

hour and a half something like that but but definitely before I notice it with lighter

headphones like the XM4s that I mentioned so that's important to note because there's been

this focus on materials because there's been this focus on fit and finish it means you get nice

things like magnetic ear cups and if you did buy a super expensive headphone it would be nice to know

that you could go in there and replace the ear cup if your previous model got nasty and you you know you wanted to go in there and make them feel new again this is an area that can wear a little bit more

than the headphone itself now i've used a lot of headphones in my life i've never had to replace

any ear cups but there is a at least a functional conversation around the ability to do so and

around the ability to do so with magnets which is kind of nice now i don't know what you guys think

about this look they have multiple colors available so you can create your own custom setup

however a lot of them are back ordered so that's another thing i should mention for everybody

suggesting that there's no market for this product there appears to be a market for this product tim

cook came out publicly and said you can't make them fast enough that the demand actually appears

to have exceeded the expectation and the same is true for the ear cups themselves you can use

whatever terms you want to describe the people that are ordering these things up but apple doesn't

care about those terms they care about those dollar figures that end up in the bank account

because those are more useful than those terms anyway there you have it that is the new uh

airpods ear cup available independently of the airpods max themselves you can mix and match you

can make an even bigger style statement than the headphones themselves and i want you all to
