This is the iPhone 18 Pro Max

So, you know, anytime we receive a box that looks like this

there's gonna be something relatively exclusive and interesting inside. This one came from China

and I believe it is yet another look, possibly an even closer variant to the upcoming iPhone

the folding iPhone. Still, nobody knows exactly what it's gonna be called. Now, you've seen the videos on these two previous versions

This was the first one that we saw, the most crude of the bunch, just like an aluminum structure, removable hinge

This gave us a rough idea of what Apple was doing, what that new iPhone was gonna look like

Then we moved to this one that I received, which gave you an even better impression

because it showed what a screen might look like on the outside. But then this one, I was like

well, obviously these corners will be rounded. It's gonna look a little different than this. But this one was crazy thin as well

I mean, this would be quite impressive if they actually delivered something like this

But this latest package, well it claims and aims to be even more like the eventual product and after seeing samsung's fold

eight apple has its work cut out because that thing was pretty well put together so in this

package is not only the upcoming folding device supposedly like obviously a copy a mock-up version

of it but also some looks at just the next iphone the next non-folding iphone and who knows this

might not be the last package like this that we receive before those phones are actually announced

It does a little bit more than just record. It actually turns those recordings into actionable things

It's kind of, I mean, I say this every time, but there's increasing accuracy coming out of China

at this point. And the stuff that they're sending is looking more and more

like the actual finished products every single time. So some of these are labeled, some are not

So maybe this is the folding variant. Oh, it absolutely is. Tightly packed into this package here

Let's see how it stacks up compared to the other ones. Okay, feels a lot like this guy

but more finished more curved slightly still a little sharp in the corner wow definitely more

of a finished product the hinge is no longer a thing that pops off you can see our sticker in

the middle here wow that is an extremely faded apple logo like you can barely even see it there

extremely subtle matte finish and then glossy where the apple logo is the camera cut out quite

a bit different here this looks far more realistic than the previous version same with the remainder

section the volume buttons in the same spot although here we can see a speaker grill on this

new variant and then speakers on the bottom type c on the front oh they flipped that as well so the

connector used to be on the bottom and speaker on the top now that's switched on this variety

And then above that, what is that, our action? Here's, let's see

Okay, sweet. Woo! Some kind of a screen protector for the thing that's not even actually a real screen

So like, there's no way that their hinge is gonna be this pronounced, obviously

But this is still a better look than the previous version. Like this one here, I mean, they had a sticker in the center to qualify the fact that the screen is going all the way through Now this doesn turn on and it isn quite as thin either is it no it slightly thicker it feels more realistic that this there no way this corner is going to be this sharp though because that gonna that

going to be no fun in the palm of your hand but like very similar in form factor to what we saw

from samsung in the fold 8 there you go that's two different looks two different potential

devices this one single tone here we have the two tone with more kind of brushed metallic

components this to me feels a lot more likely i'm gonna place that there because we've also got

the 18 p.m is what they're calling it does that mean every single one is a pro max look and there's

supposedly some new colors take this for what it is this may happen it may not happen we never know

but like check out that new color holy crap that is rose crimson like these two don't even look like

they quite match up properly you know but i still think this is a cool idea like this color on the

frame i mean they do have to do one kind of new color each time don't they these buttons very

clicky this really feels like a finished product close to it we can get an idea for scale difference

though like if you're thinking about pro max versus the new fold fold is obviously much stubbier and

interesting like in samsung's lineup it will just be a variant they're still going to be selling the

flip and obviously the ultra which is going to give you that tall form factor and their other

slab style devices but for apple it appears that this is their play in the folding space like they're

going to have the passport form factor exclusively that's the way it looks at this point what else do

we have for PM. Oh, a blue. Here we have a blue metallic, metallic blue

Kind of a lighter blue. These shades look closer when compared, closer to each other

which makes it feel somewhat more realistic. I'm guessing there's gotta be a black and white

somewhere in here. Yeah, here's the white and silver. This is very similar to what we have right now as an option

So nothing too exciting to report with the white and silver. And then last up, black, very black, space black

Did you just zoom in on me reading on this? Precision removal there, holy cow

So that gives us a look. I mean, like, do I think for sure that this will be the color options

Mmm, I'm skeptical. I mean this one it probably indicates they going to do something in the reddish pink realm I don think it going to look exactly like this It is a cool and unique color They have to have a unique color so that people can send a message to the world that they have the latest one Considering the fact that you still have such a familiar form factor

one of the ways you can send that message out is with something distinctive that's exclusive to this particular release

So maybe we're going to see something in this area, but it's not going to be exactly like this, I don't think

because they don't even really match up correctly. The blue is kind of nice

Black and white is self-explanatory. And then we have yet another variant

I mean, it really seems like a foregone conclusion at this point. Now that we've seen three generations of this, that like, this is what's going on

I would be kind of shocked at this point if the whole thing is a scam and we don't get anything like this from Apple

That would be a shock. But who knows? Maybe they would delay it if they're having any kind of production issues or problems

And then maybe we would see it at a later date. But I doubt it. It really feels at this point that we are moving towards a release of a Passport style folding device from Apple

And then this here is probably the best look that we have yet as to what that device is going to look like and how it's going to break down in terms of dimension

The thickness here feels more believable to me than the previous mock-up that I had, which was just a little too impossibly thin

I mean, obviously, if anyone's capable of it, like Apple would be capable of it, but it's going to come at the expense of battery life

And when you're powering so much screen, if you trim those batteries too slim, are you going to have battery life that people are willing to live with

Probably not. So I think you have to get sort of to this thickness. And if you look at the original variant that I got, these two are almost identical in their thickness

I don't know about this speaker layout, though. Let me think how you're holding this

So up and down, diagonal. Top left speaker grill, bottom right speaker grill

Interesting. And then if you hold it like this, you might be blocking one or the other

Who knows what they know? They know more than we know at this point as they gear up in China for major releases

making cases, accessories, and so forth. And before all that starts, making reliable mock-ups that appear to be getting closer to a finished product
