0:10
Now in this segment of the video we are first going to see how to import a simple table in a local system and how to import that file in our Power BI service
0:21
And later on what we are going to do is we are going to explore this table and start creating report in the Power BI service
0:28
It's very simple and it is similar to the thing that we work on Power BI desktop
0:34
Now before importing the table, we have to make sure that my table is in a proper tabular format
0:40
So in order to import this table, what we have to do is simply have to click on get data
0:46
After click on get data, you have to go on files. The moment you click on files, it will give you a bunch of options like this
0:54
Now our major focus out here is to import the data using the local machine
0:59
So I will simply click on this local file and get the data imported in our PowerBI service
1:06
Now let's go ahead and see how it is practically done. Hello friends and welcome
1:11
In this video, I'm going to show you how to import an Excel file in PowerBi service
1:16
And let's get started off with that. So in order to get it, you simply have to go to this Get Data tab, which you'll find on the extreme left
1:23
down corner of your screen So simply click on get data The moment I click on get data it is providing me with the bunch of option from where you can actually import your data But my focus is to import the data using the Excel file So I will simply click on this get option The moment I click on this get option it is again showing me bunch of option whether you want to import the file using your local system or whether you want to import the file using one drive business that will be your organization mail or if you have a personal account on one drive you can also fetch that data or out here you can also see that we can
2:00
import the data using the sharepoint services that is available in your organization all right guys
2:06
so let's go ahead and import the data using the local file so i'll simply click on it the moment
2:11
you click on it this uh window opens up and from here i will over this financial sample file which I need to import so I'll simply click on open
2:19
the moment I click on open it is asking me how I would like to connect to it so I
2:24
would rather go with this option which allows me to connect your data and
2:28
started creating the power via reports and dashboard for it all right so I
2:32
will simply click on import the moment I click on import it will start importing the
2:36
file and out here you can see the status of it so as you can see the data
2:40
set is ready and if you want to view this data set simply click on
2:44
this view data set the moment you click on this view data set you can see all the
2:48
tables that has been imported from this financial sample right and you can start
2:53
working on it right away let's take for an example that I would like to get the
2:58
revenue by dates so I will take this dates and the sales that has been
3:03
occurred out here and I will make this into a column chart a beautiful column
3:08
chart can be created right with just two clicks let's go ahead and drag the
3:12
country and I'd like to see what is the profits generated by different countries so I automatically get the
3:18
bubble map chart where I can see in which location the profit is the most the
3:23
more the the more the big the bubble is the more the profit is being seen all
3:27
all right guys so this is how you import your Excel file in the power BI services
3:33
using the get data tab all right guys so hopefully you guys like this video see you
3:38
until next time
