'TRAITOR!': Mamdani Booed at October 7 Vigil as Pro-Palestinian Protesters Turn on Mayor

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani was confronted by pro-Palestinian protesters during an October 7 vigil in Manhattan's Union Square on Wednesday, with demonstrators chanting "traitor" and accusing him of betraying the movement. Mamdani attended the vigil, organised by Israelis for Peace, which commemorated Israelis killed in the October 7, 2023 Hamas-led attacks as well as Palestinians killed during the subsequent war. He stood silently among attendees before leaving with his security detail as protesters shook barricades and clashes broke out. The confrontation came amid a wider dispute between Mamdani and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Mamdani has criticised Netanyahu over the Gaza war and previously pledged to enforce an International Criminal Court arrest warrant against him, but later acknowledged that he lacked the legal authority to make such an arrest. Netanyahu has accused Mamdani of antisemitism and supporting Hamas, allegations Mamdani rejects. #zohranmamdani #mamdani #newyork #nyc #october7 #october7vigil #israel #palestine #gaza #netanyahu #benjaminnetanyahu #newyorkcity #union square #protests #nycprotests #icc #israelgaza #uspolitics #geopolitics #timesnowworld Stay connected with Times Now World for real-time global news and analysis: Read full coverage: https://www.timesnownews.com/world Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/timesnow.world Follow us on X: https://x.com/TimesNow_World #timesnowworld #worldnews #breakingnews
