Service animals can be identified by their vest and gear. Or, folks will have a doctor's letter or prescription for their animal. Service dogs are allowed anywhere the public can go. There are a few exceptions such as sterile hospital environments like operating rooms. Service dogs are allowed in restaurants, movie theatres, and taxis, just as a few examples. Ontario landlords must allow pets, so people with service dogs and emotional support animals should not anticipate any problems with landlords or housing with their animals.
