Hello, everybody and welcome into another season preview show here at the Hock
0:04
Graders YouTube channel. And I'm your host, Matthew Zattor. And we are up to the Vegas Golden Knights here on our previews as we get closer and closer
0:11
to the regular season starting. And I've got Ben Fisher here. You covered the Golden Knights
0:17
You don't actively cover them anymore. But I know you know a lot about the Golden Knights anyway
0:22
So thanks for coming on. Hey, my pleasure. And, yeah, I mean, you don't just, you don't just ditch
0:29
next that quickly so i'm still keeping tabs and aware of what's going on in
0:35
Vegas and uh for sure yeah i mean the golden nights said they're going to be a strong team again
0:40
this season they got they did see some changes in the off season of course the biggest one being
0:45
jonathan marsh is so moving on uh to the national predators uh he was a big part of their team
0:51
of course won the con smith trophy when they won the cup there's and uh of course uh massive uh
0:58
in his history, all-time scoring. I mean, he's up there. So that's a big hole they're going to have to fill
1:04
They added a few guys in the off-season, too. They made some trades. We got Alexander Holtz from the New Jersey Devils
1:10
traded Logan Thompson to the Washington Capitals. They've done some moves. I mean, not a lot of additions, I guess
1:18
Not massive additions, but some guys that could surprise. So let's just jump right into our forward group here
1:25
and of course having a big part, Thomas Hurtle having his first full season with the team
1:32
after that big trade last season. So what do you think about this group going in
1:38
I mean, like I say, Alexander Holtz is probably the biggest addition from the off season
1:44
But what do you think about the group going in to, well, Victor Olives, Oliveson was another edition
1:50
from the Buffalo Sabres too. What do you think about the group? well i mean let's let's not let's call it what it is and this was the the 2023 stanley cup
2:00
coming due effectively yeah from a cap standpoint i mean you may you mentioned marchesot
2:06
which obviously he's the most recognized the biggest name to leave and uh the most closely
2:13
intertwined with vegas's history to this point um plus he didn't there there's some uh there's
2:20
some enmity related to how the departure all happened But it wasn't just him
2:25
It was, I mean, Chandler Stevenson's gone. William Carrier was an original golden knight that he's no longer there anymore
2:33
Even a guy like Michael Amadio played some key depth minutes for us for a couple years there
2:38
And so, I mean, it's, it was tough. We're still tied up against the cap
2:45
It was really tough to not only retain these guys, but also make up for their loss
2:52
So that was really a challenge in the off season for Kelly McCrimman and for the rest of the front office
3:00
I'd say that they, I mean, there are some guys worth getting excited about for sure
3:05
I mean, you mentioned two big names right off the bat. Victor Oliveson, who, again, were hoping to erase last year where sort of production dipped a bit injuries took over
3:21
but he's just two years away from two years removed from a 28 goal season so if if that's I mean
3:31
he's going to get plenty of top six opportunities and if by playing alongside jack Eichael or
3:38
thomas hurdle uh i mean that that if that's not going to spark him then nothing will and so
3:43
there is certainly hope that his uh that this year is going to resemble 2022 23 a lot more
3:51
than it did last season. Alexander Holtz is another really interesting young forward
3:58
He wasn't bad with the Devils last year. He had a semi-decent season, still establishing himself as an NHL regular
4:07
but I think he was acquired in the Paul Cotter trade, and I do think that he provides that a little bit more upside
4:17
former number seven overall pick, and a guy who, I mean, it might not be
4:26
this might not be his breakout year, but if he can grow within the organization
4:29
and start to adapt to some of his teammates, then I think that he is a player that could be around for a few years
4:37
plus something that the forward corps right now desperately needs, and that's some youth
4:42
Yeah. That's the biggest thing with Holtz. I mean, I think he was kind of
4:48
there was something with New Jersey. It seemed like he wasn't fitting in
4:52
They weren't giving him a lot of ice time. And he is a guy that I think has a lot
4:57
a ton of skill. And the thing is, he's now in a team that he's
5:02
I mean, he's not going to be pressured into developing, I guess, too, too quickly
5:07
I mean, he's set to be playing some pretty good players, depending on where he fits in the lineup
5:13
I mean, right now he's on daily faceoff. He's set to play with William Carlson
5:16
and Brendan Brisson on the third line. I mean, that could be a line
5:22
I don't know. But yeah, I think it's going to be interesting to see how he fits in the lineup
5:28
You've got, I mean, Olson, like you said, he's shown he can score goals
5:32
It's just mostly on the power play, which, I mean, is not a bad thing production-wise to have
5:38
But I'd like to see a bit more five-on-five. But, yeah, it's some interesting, of course, low-money signings
5:46
low money additions to such as it and mccrimand sort of hoping that having the existing structure
5:54
and some pretty some pretty solid star power up front having the existing structure in place
6:00
allows them the luxury of taking a flyer on a guy and knowing that he's going to have some
6:07
help around him so that that's certainly the hope with olson and to a lesser extent whole i mean
6:13
And he's really in a great situation where, to your point, if he does play further down the lineup
6:19
then they do have the ability to bring him along slowly. But, I mean, who knows
6:24
There is an option. It is not the same depth that the clubs had in previous years
6:30
So there is the option if he catches fire that there are some spots on the wing further up the lineup that he could slot into
6:40
Who knows? He could play with Jack Eichol. be a pretty good, pretty good to play with him
6:45
Or even hurdle would be a great duo too. So, yeah, it's going to be interesting that Mark Stone having a healthy season
6:53
hopefully, Crane fingers crossed. He actually plays the whole season and it's good because he was good in the playoffs
6:59
So we'll see. Again. Again, he just comes back. Hopefully he has a whole season to play now
7:07
All right. The other guy that I'm looking for, sorry. Oh, no, wrong. Yeah
7:11
The other guy is Pavl Dorfayev, who, I mean, has still not really established himself as a full-time NHLer, but based on some of the early comments from McCrimman from the front office, that they view him as a full-time golden night now
7:31
And I think he's going to get every opportunity afforded to him. He's another guy similar to Oliveson that has shown that he can score goals when giving the opportunity
7:39
and has a little speed to him, which is nice. And I think that now if he can get an opportunity to play alongside hurdle
7:49
alongside Stone, then there's a real opportunity for him to possibly have a breakout
7:55
and surprise a few people. For sure. I mean, he's set to play in that second line with hurdle and Stone, if that's how it all plays out
8:05
But, yeah, he's set to be in the top six, it looks like. So, yeah, I mean, interesting to see for him
8:11
All right, defense, which really didn't see any changes at all. They had, of course, lost Alec Martinez, who went to the Chicago Blackhawks
8:20
and he's been a golden knight forever as well. Noah Hanifan is now going to have a full season with the team as well, too
8:28
So he, and of course, we all know how well he played after the trade
8:32
and probably one of their best defensemen. So what do you think about this defense corps
8:37
I mean, it's pretty strong and still, even though Martinez moved on
8:41
Oh, yeah. And emotionally losing Martinez was a blow because he was a leader in the locker room He was uh i mean he uh his uh playoff track record is pretty well established at this point so uh he was a popular guy there but ultimately
8:57
i mean realistically he was at a point in his career where last year he wasn't really giving
9:02
vegas much um i mean we were the uh the golden knights had the opportunity to
9:09
slot him a little further down the defensive depth chart and so i don't think that his uh
9:14
departure is necessarily i mean he he got his four million with chicago more power to him but uh i
9:21
think that they're still pretty well said i mean you've got you mentioned hanifin petrangelo's still
9:26
going to be a huge uh minutes eater even as he potentially starts to decline a little bit here
9:32
um but they they've still got a pretty solid uh pretty solid top seven plus a couple guys
9:39
that are uh definitely going to make a case in training camp and try to work their way in
9:44
I can see like I mean I think that Caden Corsack for instance is going to be a guy that takes a look
9:52
Ben Hutton's still there you've got they added they added Robert Haig who I mean I'm not
9:59
sure what you're getting from him at this point but again another guy at the very
10:03
least to create some competition and training camp and bye for minutes so I think
10:09
the blue line is just fine they it wasn't it wasn't a perfect you
10:14
unit last year by any means but uh i mean the depth is certainly still there 100% in the high
10:21
end at top four when you're looking at a top four of hanifin petrangelo mcnab and theodore that's
10:27
pretty good i mean i take that top four um yeah theater in a contract year so there could be
10:33
a little motivation there too true yeah and and we'll see if they i mean i don't know about trade
10:39
if that happens but i who knows last season so we'll see yeah
10:44
that's something to watch for sure all right goal tending um of course they i mentioned they traded
10:50
logan thompson to the capitals i you're looking at aden hill starter and ells mssonoff who signed
10:57
from free in free agency i come from the tronel maplea who i mean he was up and down
11:04
what the maple leaf somebody was in the hl for a good year one not so good year yeah it was okay
11:09
i mean it was an average goaltender um but now he's set to be the backup to hill or 1A1B
11:15
What do you actually see this tandem? Is it a 1A1B or are you looking at Hill as the starter
11:21
I think that Hill has still earned every opportunity to, I mean, I think the crease is his
11:30
until it isn't. I think that he's going to get the chance to be the guy
11:36
But I mean, I think that Vegas bought themselves a nice little bit of insurance and knowing
11:41
that if he does falter, if he has. has issues, then they've got a guy backing him up that was the de facto number one for a
11:51
playoff contender the last couple of years. So, I mean, I think that as much as Logan Thompson
11:57
again, younger goalie, one of the great contract, but I think that at this point, they felt
12:06
a little more comfortable going with, I mean, as you mentioned, Samsonov is by no means a
12:14
Neil Vezna candidate, but he's a perfectly solid goalie that has given Toronto a couple
12:25
of decent seasons. And so I think that there's just more of a comfort there in having a fallback in
12:30
someone like Samsonov. And they did the same thing even at number three in the depth chart by adding Akira Schmidt
12:38
in that Al-Hults trade. So I think the idea was more goaltending depth in general
12:44
and I think they've done a pretty good job addressing the crease
12:49
For sure. Do you see Schmidt actually challenging Sampsonov, though, in training camp as potential backup
12:56
although Schmitt can be down to the HAL? Does he have to clear waivers
13:03
No, I think that I think he still has options for him. So I think that's going to be obviously the big factor that he can go free to Henderson, I believe
13:13
Yeah, I believe so too, yeah. So, I mean, I think that, I think that's your answer right there
13:21
But, yeah, I mean, to your point, absolutely, if, I mean, if, if Schmidt can push the top two guys
13:32
then I think that it's a nice problem to have, and it's something that could be addressed a little later on
13:37
Plus, I mean, Aiden Hills had his fair share of injury issues, so is Sampsonov
13:41
so we so I mean never hurts to have a little bit insurance for sure and schmidt's
13:48
showing flash is a really good playing the NHL of course the playoffs of the new jersey
13:53
devils there for a bit looked looked like a pretty good goalie so I mean we'll see if
13:59
he can maybe throw a bit of a wrench in the in the tandem there and see where it goes
14:04
yeah okay looking at the Pacific division it's a tough division at least at the top
14:12
The bottom is still, of course, the sharks, the ducks, they're the bottom feeders
14:18
But you got the Seattle Cracken who may bounce back this season. You got, of course
14:22
the top of the division with the Oilers, the Canucks, the Kings
14:27
I mean, Calgary Flames are probably in that murky area. I don't know what
14:31
I don't know what they're going to be this season. But where do the Golden Knights
14:35
kind of fit in this division? Yeah, I mean, I mean, they're in tough
14:40
I mean, I don't think that any of well the oil the oilers had a great offseason aside from broberg and holloway but uh otherwise
14:49
they handled it pretty well and beyond that i don't think either of the kings or connects got
14:55
appreciably worse um so they're still certainly going to be right there among vying for those top
15:02
three um and yeah you you said of that uh the crack and i mean to get uh brand and montour to add
15:11
Stevenson, there were a number of pickups there that I do think will make an impact and will
15:18
certainly help them get back. I think, I mean, we'll see how it all plays out, but
15:25
I think that we're that the Golden Knights are right in the mix of that, but it's going to be tough
15:32
There's more depth to the division this year than in previous years. And so
15:37
So it might be one of those additional wildcard spots that we're looking at
15:43
But it's hard to say right now. We're going to be right in the thick of that middle part there, I think
15:51
It's probably the same as last season, kind of jumping into the vision, out in, out
15:57
I mean, last season we were hoping for better things. But, yeah, that is now more a reality than our..
16:06
Well, also the teams that weren't sure about, like, at the beginning of the season
16:10
there's no one thought the Canucks were going to, the Canucks were going to be the top of the division and how good they were
16:18
It could be some surprises. Who knows? I mean, even the sharks, I mean, they're going to be a bad, probably not very good team again
16:24
but they've got some interesting pieces to the team now with Macklin-Salabrini
16:28
Will Smith, and some of the veterans they added it to Foley
16:33
And I don't know. They could be an interesting team. team, I don't know if they're going to, of course, not going to do much, but they could maybe
16:41
mess with some of the good teams. I mean, I think their rebuild is now in the building stage
16:48
I think they're starting to try to add and try to. So, I mean, a couple more wins and maybe a little more, maybe not as easy a night at the
16:57
office when you're playing them here, but yeah, we'll see. Yeah. And the Ducks, too
17:02
I mean, all these teams, it's not an easy night. There's no easy nights in the NHL
17:06
all the teams have have talent it's just matter of where they are in their development so
17:12
all right let's move to our quick fire round and these are all just quick questions so one or
17:18
two sentence answers as we go through so our first one biggest storyline or a question mark
17:24
that's going into this season um i mean i think the the biggest storyline is that there's a whole
17:33
lot of goals to make up here i mean march still had 42 you lost uh guys like stevenson and amadia who had I think about 16 and 14 or something like that So there some I mean there some significant offense that has now departed
17:50
And so, I mean, I think a lot of it's going to have to be internal
17:56
You can't necessarily put all those goals on Oliveson and Holtz alone
18:02
So, yeah. Yeah, so that would be pretty unfair pressure right there
18:07
So you're hoping for some development from guys like Dorfayev. It would be great to see Ivan Barbashev, for instance, get back to the 20 goal mark
18:20
I think he ended up with 19 last year. And so to get to have a little bit of an uptick there
18:27
So, I mean, depth scoring is going to be a big question
18:32
question mark for this team and it'll be interesting even a guy like
18:36
brandon brysan see if he can take some strides in his second year and hopefully
18:43
become more of a established regular in the lineup yeah i just think as we
18:50
mentioned the the blue line is pretty set pretty solid and fairly predictable at this
18:55
point but it's the offense that's going to be the big wild card
18:59
100%. It's funny. Brennan Brisson is the only prospect they've held on to
19:07
I'd say longer than other guys, it seems. Oh, absolutely. Yeah. I mean, even just all the moves at the trade deadline to land Hannafin and Hurtle
19:19
And that was another exodus of the farm system right there. So it's he seems to a guy they like
19:29
we'll see how much longer he sticks around. Yeah. All right. One or two breakout stars after this season
19:39
Yeah. I made mention of Door Five. I brought him up a couple of times
19:44
and I think that he's going to be a big one. But, I mean, I don't know if he counts as a breakout
19:50
but I think that you can't underestimate what a full season of Thomas Hurdle means
19:56
Yeah. I think that he's like, mean, it was a hard situation to come into
20:02
He was healthy for, I think, the last five regular season games of the year. So you can't expect much out of that
20:08
And sure enough, once the playoffs rolled around, he still wasn't, clearly wasn't ready
20:13
I think he picked up one point. I think he picked up one point in seven games and a minus six or something like that
20:21
So having him get a full training camp in, having him get back to game shape, it's huge
20:29
huge and and I don't think Golden Knights fans know yet what they have in Thomas
20:34
Hurtle. I mean, sure, they've seen him. We've played against them enough times at the
20:38
Sharks, but it's been a long time now since he's been healthy and productive. And this could
20:45
be another Jack Eichol situation where finally he's, we've got a star caliber player who's
20:53
back ready to contribute and we saw the kind of difference that Eichl made. So hopefully he's
20:59
we get another driving force like that. I mean, hurdles say he's a very talented player
21:06
He's shown that in San Jose, and now he's under that big contract
21:10
and you'd hope that he could actually live up to it and actually produce
21:15
But very good. I think he's going to end up having a breakout season, too
21:20
especially if he stays healthy all season, which what happened, like you said
21:24
plagued Eichol before, and now he's been healthy for a bit here. So
21:28
Well, hopefully that goes the same way. All right, someone that needs to bounce back from last season
21:37
Yeah, and I mean, I think that I think the goaltending is going to be a big area of some rebounding necessary, where Hill was okay last year
21:49
He wasn't great. And certainly they were hoping that the Hill Thompson tandem was able to grow in a way
21:58
that quite frankly it didn't and so obviously now that Logan Thompson's gone so
22:04
Aiden Hill becomes the focus of that another guy in a contract year and and
22:11
Sampsonov I mean it's the same thing in Toronto where he's coming off a down
22:17
year and so the idea of being able to I mean I think that a change of scenery is
22:24
probably helpful in his case and maybe a little less pressure on him than there was in Toronto last year and I think that that sort of a shift could
22:36
really help the guy and there's optimism that he can get back to playing at a pretty
22:43
solid level the same really the same thing goes for Victor Oliveson I mean we
22:48
talked about it earlier on but going from 28 goals two years ago to an injury
22:53
marred but six or seven goals I think he had last year so
22:58
I think there are a couple guys. It's funny. For the team that
23:02
for the team that won the cup and then lost in the first round, I think there's a general theme of wanting to wipe the slate clean on last year
23:09
and maybe go back to the way things work. Yeah. For sure
23:13
I mean, Samsonoff is one of those guys that, I mean, maybe he'll be better in a lesser market
23:19
Obviously, he was in Washington, which isn't as big of a market either
23:23
But going to Toronto and dealing with that pressure. and then now going back to a team that's not going to be as much again
23:31
So I don't know. We'll see how we kind of. Yeah. I mean, the expectations are the same, but the media market is certainly
23:37
Yes, it's different. A little different intensity. Yeah, for sure. I don't think any market matches Toronto in that
23:46
Although most Canadian teams are that way. Yeah, there is still that
23:50
Yeah. All right. Let's talk about some X factors. This could be a player or it could be
23:56
a situation and what could be an X factor this season? Interesting the situation
24:02
No, I mean, the guy that I point to is Hannafin. I mean, I guess Hurtle falls into that same group, but just we saw in a very small
24:12
sample size what Hannafin can be for the Golden Knights. And I really think that, especially with Alex Petrangelo getting a little bit older now
24:22
I think that Hanathan could very quickly be the blue line anchor for this team
24:29
and sort of continue that prolong that reputation of just sort of strong defense
24:38
that the Golden Knights have really put forth over the last few years but between now being
24:45
really the power play quarterback and being leaned on to play probably in the mid-20s and minutes
24:54
I think, I mean, and quite frankly, looking at a future that may or may not include
25:01
Shea Theodore, I think, but there's a real emphasis on him, yeah, becoming an anchor for
25:09
that blue line, really carrying the unit, and I think he's got huge value on this team
25:17
Yeah, and he signed that, of course, the long-term contract, too. and everyone wasn't sure he was going to come back after it could have been a rental
25:25
who knows, but I ended up resigning. And now, yeah, he's going to be a big part of this team
25:30
And he's not old either. I mean, he's still relatively young. Yeah
25:34
So, yeah, he could definitely be that. Yeah. All right. Let's talk about
25:39
Oh, sorry. Yeah. Oh, no, go for it. No, I was just going to say on that, like the last few years of the contract may not look great
25:47
but that's where the emphasis is on. these first couple years to really make that value count and to still help with contention
25:57
at this point. So, yeah, I mean, this is where he's going to make that contract look good
26:03
hopefully. For sure. And like I say, it seemed like he really fit in right away. I mean
26:09
it didn't seem like he had any growing pains to start. So, I mean, I think he saw that he fits in
26:17
and we'll see how it all goes. For sure. All right. There not a lot of really spots I guess for these guys But do you see any prospects maybe surprising and making the team again their prospect pool is not the strongest but uh you see anyone kind of on the radar in that case
26:38
um well that that would be i mean we talked about him earlier but brysan is basically the one and
26:45
only at the only one he and colasar should uh set himself up as a regular nchler at this point
26:53
but he's really going to fill some of those fourth line gaps, I would think
26:58
But No Persan has the chance to really become sort of a middle six mainstay for us
27:10
And I do think that I do think this is a big camp for him
27:15
I do think this is really time to show. Because you mentioned that, I mean, Vegas is not an organization that is known for it
27:23
patience with its prospects. This could be a situation where this is the best shot he's going to get
27:33
I mean, I don't know. I'm not saying that they're getting rid of the bum
27:37
if he doesn't make the team. I do think that there's a real opportunity here
27:43
and I think that he's definitely going to be one of the most watched guys on that team in camp
27:50
Yeah, like I say, he seems to be the only prospect they're holding on to at this point
27:55
They traded their David Edstrom like really quickly after they drafted him
27:59
not that long ago. And he's been traded again since. So it's an interesting thing
28:05
But yeah, I think Holtz, well, Holtz would still be falling under the prospect umbrella
28:10
I guess, too. But he's got some NHL experience. Outside of guys that make the team
28:18
I mean, obviously the Golden Knights still have prospects. Who do you see
28:23
talk about Trevor Connolly. Yeah, yeah. That's a very good one. I mean, we'll see how long he stays with the system
28:30
But who should everyone be watching this season? I mean, Connolly's a big one, yeah, for sure
28:37
Yeah, I would say, I mean, he's going to be a pretty interesting
28:42
Like, I mean, just such a divisive prospect, such a guy who, I mean, the talent is there
28:48
and there's no questioning. I mean, I think that I think he
28:53
probably would have been a whole lot higher up the draft board, if not for some of the off-ice
28:58
stuff and some of the character questions about him. Now, going into the draft, he said all
29:05
the right things. He apparently, Vegas was pretty thorough about looking into some of the
29:13
past issues, and they were obviously content with what they found. So, I mean, he's going to have
29:23
he's going to have his share like i mean he just got drafted so he's going to have some time but
29:29
it is a good opportunity for him to show that he's matured to show that he can come in and uh just
29:36
focus on the on ice stuff and try to remind people that oh yeah he's a pretty good hockey player so
29:44
um it's going to be he's going to be a fun one to watch in camp as well
29:48
he's one of those guys like he he was set to be like at time there was like top 20 top 15
29:57
and talent wise that's probably where he would fall but yeah those those issues off ice really
30:03
threw through through off some scouts i think uh and teams so but yeah i mean the golden nice
30:10
looked like they did their due diligence and of course they did interviewed him and all that so
30:15
yeah well it's going to be interesting to see his development over the
30:18
next few seasons and how he kind of goes in this system. He's probably one of their top prospects for sure
30:24
I think he shoots right to the top. Yeah. So I don't have any others
30:29
A great deal of competition there. Yeah. All right. All right. This could be easy, although there's a lot of candidates for this one
30:36
Who do you think will lead the team in scoring forwards and defense
30:41
Well, it's funny you say that. I don't know that it's going to be easy because over the last three years, I think, the Vegas
30:48
scoring leader has the vegas i think they've i think the top scorer has won the scoring
30:54
race by two points or less in each of the last three seasons so it is fairly balanced
30:59
iqle's obviously up there we talked about hurdle being uh in line for sort of a bounce back from
31:08
injury season so um it wouldn't surprise me i might i i default back to ickel just because
31:15
he has sort of established himself as the number one center franchise guy but it's hard to
31:25
see and on the on the blue line on the blue line I mean I think it's Hanifin I think he's
31:31
going to get every opportunity on the top power play unit but I'm curious to see what
31:39
shea Theodore does as with his contract coming up because when he's healthy still
31:45
talented offensive player and he's always had the luxury alongside brayden mcnab of sort of
31:52
freelancing a little more and being able to have the freedom to join the offensive rush a little bit
31:58
so um still think it's going to be hanafin but uh yeah i think i think there are i think we are
32:05
in line for some interesting scoring races here yeah i mean marcia so is not part of that now too
32:12
so, I mean, there could be some other candidates to kind of look at that too
32:17
Someone's got a, someone's hopefully going to fill the net. We'll see. Yeah, Marsha, so what
32:22
He scored 42? 42. Yeah. 42 goals. You need 42 goals from someone
32:29
We'll see who that is. Yeah. All right. Now to finish the show, let's talk some bold predictions
32:35
What do you got for this season? All right. Well, I'll tell you what
32:40
We mentioned it before, and we're just talking about the goals. now. So this is going out there a little bit
32:45
But I've got Pavlore 5 for, I think he's got a 30-goal season in him
32:52
I think that, I mean, he's over the last two seasons, he hasn't had a whole lot of
32:58
NHL play, but in that time, he still managed to score, I think, in the mid-teens both
33:03
years in limited average ice time, too. So I think that now that he's going to get the line share of opportunities here
33:15
and probably be on a line where he's playing closer to, I don't know, 17, 18 minutes
33:22
a night, I think there's really an opportunity here for Tim to take advantage of it
33:27
And I don't think 30 goals is all that out of reach for him
33:31
Like we said, the goals have to come from somewhere. looking at, I mean, I guess he's going to be playing with a pretty talented either hurdle or Ikel, who knows, I mean, he's going to put one of those guys
33:43
Even plays with Carlson, that's a pretty good, that's a pretty good center to play with too
33:48
So, yeah, and I could see that. I could see 30 goals out of them, too, for sure
33:54
All right. Well, thanks, Ben, for coming on, talking Golden Knights as we preview the season coming up
33:59
It should be another good season for them. they got the core group still together, really
34:04
minus Marshall and Stevenson. I guess those two big parts, but replacing with hurdle
34:10
and I guess who else would replace? Well, Hannifin. I guess Hanifin would be the other, yeah
34:17
And Martinez was gone too. So, I mean, they did lose some guys, but I think they replaced them with some pretty good guys too
34:24
So they should be in the top half of the league again
34:28
probably make the playoffs, although that's not always a guarantee with some of the teams
34:33
I know what happens, though. But, yeah, to make sure. The whole track record is that health is always a big question here
34:39
But, yeah, you never know. They do have the talent to compete with, I mean
34:43
maybe aside from the Oilers, about anybody in that division. Yeah, they definitely got the two biggest things
34:50
is having the center depth and the high-end center depth, which you need in this conference, it seems
34:57
All the teams have them. So, yeah, make sure to check. on everything on talk toverage.com for all of our coverage on the Golden Knights
