Poverty Rate in India Statistics 2022 | Poorest State in India

According to the recently published Global Multidimensional Poverty Index in 2022, 415 million individuals in India were able to escape multidimensional poverty in the last 15 years between 2005–2006 and 2019–21, with the incidence of poverty exhibiting a sharp drop from 55.1% to 16.4%. The government has taken many steps to make life better for the citizens of India, but despite these efforts, poverty still remains a serious problem.
