What is the whole brain model
0:03
Well, this is a model used to yze personal and organizational preference with regard to thinking
0:10
It's an alternative model to the left brain, right brain model that's so commonly used
0:17
Basically, it looks at what comes natural to an individual in a given situation based on any number of factors
0:23
their experience, their life, their tendencies, that type of thing. And what it does, it groups decision-making models into four styles or four quadrants within the model
0:36
The first is the logician, which is logic-based, that you're very organized, very processed in how you think through things, very rational
0:46
The organizer, who is more administrative in nature that seeks to group things, organize things fully as part of the decision-making process
0:54
the communicator who tends to be more interpersonal with others seeking feedback, discussing
0:59
something and having the conversation about it, and then the visionary who seeks to look for
1:04
novel ways or creative approaches or things that other people don't see in a given situation
1:10
Now, any excessive amount of time spent in any one of these thinking styles creates a dominant
1:17
thinking preference. And so you would be categorized then based upon the extent to which you have a
1:24
dominant preference and that preference ultimately affects your overall approach towards decision-making problems and how you think about situations
1:33
So organizations and individuals use this model to help understand how problems are
1:38
approaches and how the mental process is carried out when evaluating a decision
1:44
or a situation or scenario
