Morning, day five broke in Budapest. Last day, very very happy
0:18
The timer right now is 12 p.m. and I started the video saying morning. Which brings me to
0:23
the little discussion I want to have or the little clarification. So I'm going to be breaking the
0:28
breaking the fourth wall of the vlogging style if that makes sense so me being on a challenge
0:36
is like a movie sort of thing that you guys are watching and now i'm stepping out of that
0:42
to explain behind the scenes of the challenge i guess maybe it kind of counts as breaking the
0:48
fourth wall but i just want to explain what happens behind the scenes that you guys don't know this morning i've been up and out and everywhere i've got my flight back tomorrow
0:56
So I've had to go and do a PCR test. I'm on a survival challenge with no money yet
1:00
I'm doing a PCR test. These are the things that happen in reality
1:05
That you don't get to see in the video something like day two the camera batteries died
1:11
Phone battery died everything was dead. I go in somewhere trying to charge it my UK plug doesn't fit into the socket
1:18
I'm walking around asking for socket asking for an adapter so I can charge everything and power up the challenge couldn't find it
1:24
So I had to resort to buying an adapter just so the whole production of this series can continue
1:32
So things like that I'm bringing to awareness or bringing to the forefront of things
1:38
So you guys can understand. You get to see a snippet of what actually happens
1:43
So I'm here 24 hours in a day. You see 10 to 15 minutes of that 24 hours
1:48
So I don't want anyone watching the video thinking, oh, this is really what happens
1:52
This is what he's going for. there's so much more things that happen in the day that I either choose to leave
1:58
out or to not even record and I just want everyone to be aware of that okay
2:03
right now it's raining I'm under a tree to record this my camera is getting wet
2:10
so I'm going to probably chill somewhere until it stops raining and then I'll
2:15
crack on with the day so I haven't taken the train yet all since I've been here so let's check that out
2:24
Alright, so I think I'm going to start the day at the gym
2:47
I've still got my membership card that I got yesterday by offering my videography service in return for a gym membership which works
2:57
so swimmingly it's unfortunate I'm only here for two days if not I'll just
3:01
stretch it out for a month or a year or however long. I'm gonna head to the gym and work out freshen up and then go look for some food
3:23
How long is this valid
3:49
How many times can I come and use it? until 24th of December
3:55
Until 24th of December? Yeah. Aw, shame. Thank you. This is my last day Thank you Thanks Have a good one Underground here is the only place you can hide from the rain and this unfortunately is where some people spend
4:12
their days their nights their months there you can just see like an array of
4:17
people sleeping on the side some people hustling they're playing music I'll see
4:23
if I can get a shot without being rude Budapest is ahead of us in terms of adverts. So in the UK we've got adverts on the walls but not on these. So this is what's coming soon
5:11
so yesterday i came to this waffle house and i asked to make a promotional video in return i get
5:25
um three waffles for me and my friend so he told me to come back today so let's see
5:32
Hello. Hi. Hi, how are you? Is this time okay or no? No. No? Okay. Sorry. Okay, no worries
5:46
So I came slightly late. It's 3 o'clock or 3... What time is it? 3.20. And the appointment was for 2 o'clock. What can you do? Okay. Let's crack on
6:02
Hello, is the manager? Is the manager? Okay, so the boss? No
6:11
They're not in? Not in. Okay. Is the manager? She's working. She will come down after I will
6:21
If I was staying a bit longer, all these contacts that I'm getting would be great
6:26
People don't want to film a promotional video on the spot and pay you money for it
6:30
They want to book appointments on Monday or next week, which isn't ideal for my situation
6:36
It's getting dark and I don't want today to go to waste me just walking around
6:41
offering people to make videos and like I want to do something more with today
6:46
I want to give back a little bit. So I just need to figure out how to do that. Okay, so I've been chilling in the lobby area of a hostel for the past few bits
7:01
It's been pouring down the whole day, just absolute miserable weather. You don't have room to do anything really
7:08
And now it's getting dark, it's still raining. It's just been difficult filming the whole day today
7:13
I've either been like running to find shade or hide my camera so it doesn't get wet and yeah
7:19
It's been interesting. What I'm gonna do right now is I want to do something before I leave. Not the day I envisioned but
7:28
You take what you get I put myself in a challenge that I don't have any money and I'm surviving in a city
7:34
But now I'm trying to find people who are going through the same thing that can help me understand
7:40
understand what they're going through and how I can possibly help. He doesn't want to show his face, so I'm going to have to respect his privacy
7:51
And we'll try and conduct this interview without showing his face. What's your name
7:56
My name is Frank. Frank. Yeah. And where are you from? I'm from Germany
8:05
Germany Yeah Frankfurt Frankfurt Yeah Yeah and I come to Hungary to go to my country So you came to Hungary and then you want to go to Germany
8:16
No, to my country. Where is your country? My country is Bulgaria
8:21
Bulgaria? Yeah. When do you want to go? I go to my aunt
8:27
So your auntie's house? Yeah. Yeah. How are you going to get there
8:32
I look for my friend, send me money. Yeah. When he sent me money, then I can go to my aunt and my aunt can help me
8:44
My friend from Germany sent me money for one ticket and I can go
8:48
I have a little problem. I come to Hungary and the problem is I have no pass
8:58
I have documents. I come to the world. I have one document
9:01
In this document, staying my name, my birthday. When you came to Budapest, how much did you come with
9:08
I come with one ticket. Just one ticket? Yeah. No money? No money
9:13
So how have you been surviving? Getting food or somewhere to sleep? Yeah, I ask people
9:20
People, I ask people. Where are you going to sleep tonight? I don't have, you know, I wait
9:25
I look for help me or one person or so. I call tomorrow my friend
9:30
So you don't have anywhere to sleep tonight? Yeah, yes. How long do you want to stay in Budapest
9:38
I'm happy when I can go tomorrow or today. It's better for me
9:43
So you're just trying to go back to Bulgaria? Yeah, yes, yes
9:48
Whenever you can go, you can go? Yeah. Okay, and how much is the ticket
9:52
Airport flight 18 euros and flexibus 74. From what I can understand, he's come from Germany to Budapest with absolutely nothing
10:06
but just a ticket. And now he's been stuck in Budapest for how many days
10:11
2nd November. 2nd November? Yeah, 2nd November. To Budapest. Where have you been sleeping
10:19
I ask much, no, no, not much, it's okay, eight or seven, help me
10:25
One night, one night, next day, I ask, say, no, you have one document, we have one passport
10:32
I say, I say, I don't have a passport, I can go with one document and it's better for me
10:38
Do you have family in Bulgaria? Yes. What will you do when you get to Bulgaria
10:42
I go to my aunt. You have a auntie in Bulgaria? Yes
10:46
And she will help them? Yeah, sure. Okay so we're in Burger King and we're currently looking for flights and buses that are going
11:05
to Bulgaria. Getting a bit complicated because he needs a passport to travel
11:10
He's tried in the past and they've said the pass that he has on him doesn't work and he
11:14
needs a passport. I'm just remembering my trip to Spain and me trying to help Peter cross the peninsula
11:22
and us trying everything and it no working because they didn't have a passport either
11:27
I hope that same thing doesn't happen here because I really want to help
11:31
To get into Bulgaria, he needs a pass. The pass is 50 euros
11:36
He also needs a ticket which is about 10 euros. To get the pass, he needs to go to the embassy
11:44
The embassy isn't open this weekend, plus I'm leaving so that's complicated
11:49
If we bought the ticket online, you need a way to show the ticket to the person at the bus stop
11:58
And he doesn't have a phone or any way to show the ticket to the person. So that's another complexity to it
12:04
And I think he might also need a PCR test. The solution we come to is to go around find someone that I can transfer some money to and then they can cash it out and then i can give him the money to go to the embassy on monday get his pass get his ticket get maybe the test or whatever else he
12:25
needs and then head off obviously with that as well there are other um possibilities that could
12:31
happen but we're gonna we're gonna go with trust and he seems like a decent guy he seems like he
12:40
really is trying to get home so we're on a mission to find someone to help us achieve our goal okay
12:48
let's go good how are you i am great thanks i'm trying to get some money i'm trying to cash some
12:59
money out uh-huh i don't have my wallet on me but i have my paypal so is it possible to transfer you
13:06
maybe a hundred euros via PayPal and then I can cash you can help me cash out
13:11
I only have an OTAB account so sorry guys I've got a question yeah has any of you got a PayPal account
13:22
which one? yeah I have one. you have a PayPal account? amazing so can I send you a hundred euros to your PayPal account and then you can just help me cash it out Yeah
13:36
Okay, we're making progress we found a lovely guy who is willing to help us achieve our goal
13:50
Okay, so we're being sorted now. We've got the cash and we've got a room for a night
13:56
For the pass is 50 euro that's This is just for maybe like food and well-being and stuff and then a room for the night as well
14:32
Thank you, thank you much. Mate, if anything you've got my name, my email, contacts
14:40
So big, okay, nice. Check this out. I wish you the best of luck
14:44
Thank you, thank you. And you too. Thank you so much. Have a good one, mate
14:50
Have a good one. Thank you. We have reached the end of the challenge. It's currently 1am. I've got my flight at 6am. I'm
14:59
going to hang around or maybe just go to the airport and just stay there. As much as these
15:05
things, these are challenges for me. When I meet people that are actually going through it, it just
15:10
leaves me with no way. The complex web of how they got themselves into the situation and how they can
15:16
get themselves out of it. It seems when they're in the situation, there's like just so many
15:21
loopholes to go to actually either get them home or get them where they need to be or people don't
15:27
choose to like be stuck in a country with no money it's circumstance and situations that either brings
15:32
them here and then they're stuck they don't have papers they're trying to go they don't have money
15:36
they want to work they can't they don't have papers to work what can they do where can they go
15:41
that's why they end up begging for money or just sleeping on the street i feel like we definitely
15:48
need to be more considerate of people in those situations and we can just help in any way any
15:55
way we can lend a hand organization definitely needs to rise up to try and help those people and
16:02
yeah it might be a branch of the hack we'll see we'll see how it all goes i've enjoyed this
16:08
experience i hope you guys have as much as i have and i'll see you guys in the next one enjoy the
16:15
the rest of your day. Peace
