Welcome back first timers we're back out on the boat but this time it's a little rainy and a little
0:08
stormy but we had to go out today because we're going to the launch party for wild charters you
0:13
might remember them from our previous video where we checked out a bunch of vendors here to crab island where we bought coconuts and pineapple before we head over to launch party we're going
0:21
to do that again we're going to check out all the vendors that we didn't check out last time so i hope you came hungry because i sure did
0:26
In our last Crab Island vendor video, we waited for all the vendors to come to us, but because
0:47
we're a little bit tight on time today because of the storm, we're actually going to be going out and trying to track down the vendors we haven't been to before
0:56
Here with your Crab Island weather report. Today, it's 85 degrees. The water is 87 degrees
1:06
And we've got lightning within five. Today, there's five floating barges out here
1:16
They have all kinds of things. They have splash pads, hot dogs, hamburgers, ice cream
1:20
You name it, they probably got it. And don't forget the barbecue place. First up is Reef Burger. We've heard they have amazing burgers here, but they also have other
1:31
things like pulled pork sandwiches, hot dogs, chicken fingers. Let's go try it out. They also
1:35
have a deck that you can sit on, but with today's weather, they didn't bring it out. And while we wait for our burger, let's go check out the ice cream place
1:41
On the way to the ice cream pontoon, it got about waist deep. Terry got a little nervous
1:46
so she turned back. I'm going to go check out, see what they have. So they got ice cream
1:50
snow cones, milkshakes, smoothies. They even got souvenir hats, shirts, koozies, pretty much anything
1:57
you need to stay cool and refreshed while you're out here at Crab Island. I got the citrus sunset
2:02
which has strawberries, pineapples, lime, all the good things you need. I'm gonna go find Terry
2:06
but before that I'm gonna give it a sip. Wow, it's sweet, tangy, refreshing. They use frozen fruits
2:16
but they're all fruits. It's not powders or anything like that. So it's actually a really
2:20
strong smoothie. Let me test out this smoothie. That's really good. It's orangey, pineapple-y
2:30
Really smooth. It tastes like fresh fruit. Gonna give this burger a try We got everything on it Caramelized onions lettuce onion tomato and we added pickles and cheese That a lot of flavor That really good You want to give it a try
2:59
This is a no-frills burger iceberg lettuce. Some people hate it. I love shredded iceberg lettuce
3:04
Smells great. There's a nice char on that burger. It's a flat patty. They hand form them
3:09
and then it's crispy. It's 20 bucks, though. You're going to be paying a premium because
3:12
out here on the water let's see if the flavor makes up for it it's the quintessential backyard burger but on the water but you are going to be paying a premium
3:27
if you're hungry and looking for a burger this is probably the spot to go to we always see these tiki boats out when we're out on the water we really want to check it out it's definitely on
3:34
our list if you think we should take it out on the water leave us pound it down below
3:42
Next up is the general store. They've got all kinds of things. Floaties, lily pads, hats, t-shirts. Let's go check it out
4:05
They have floaties for sale and they range in price and size. They also rent the bigger ones for $25 an hour
4:11
They have toys, footballs, hats, a rocking dock. They also have sodas, dramamine, candy, anything you really need, hence general store
4:21
Some of these restaurants are really spread out and when that current gets going, you've got to really work to get to your food
4:26
We're going to keep chugging along and check out the next spot. Next up is the Crab Island Grill and Chill
4:47
And that's exactly what they're doing here. They're grilling burgers and dogs and chilling in floaties
4:52
They've got all kinds of different floaties, different sizes, different prices ranging from $18 to $68
4:57
And they have larger floats that you can rent per hour for $25 to $50
5:02
We came here for a hot dog but we heard that their burger is better than Reef's so we're
5:06
going to put it to the test. This is loaded up with toppings
5:18
Oh, that's beefy and juicy. I like that. Really good flavor. Lots of toppings
5:23
Definitely check it out. That is a beefy, girthy dog. It is packed with smells
5:30
I mean, it is all beef for sure. And like Terry said, it's covered in toppings, which is great
5:35
Nothing is more American than voting and hot dogs Let give it a try Nice bite with the casing Nice spice That better than Costco hot dogs
5:48
Tell me I'm wrong in the comments. We secured the burger. First thing you notice, it's super heavy and it's cheaper. It's only 13 bucks here
5:56
Yeah. That looks like a hand for Patty if I've ever seen one
6:05
Oh my gosh, almost failed. That's definitely better. That's a hand-corded fresh patty, fresh bun, lots of toppings
6:17
Let's have David test it out. Oh, I almost dropped it too
6:22
The smell that's emanating off this, you get a nice onion smell
6:26
It's definitely a lot thicker and heavier. And again, it's a no-frills burger
6:30
It has the lettuce, onion, tomato, cheese, simple burger. The smell is very strong
6:40
There's a ton of flavor with this burger. While Reef Burger is flat and crispy, this one is a lot thicker and juicier
6:48
It does have a lot of flavor, and the ingredients really let the meat shine through
6:53
For $7 less, I would definitely come to the Crab Island Grill and Chill
6:57
We've eaten all we can eat today, but the old tried and true, the barbecue place, still one of the best places out here to get some food
7:04
Let us know if you'd like us to come out and check out some other vendors out here like Cowboy Caviar, Shave Ice, and they even have Chick-fil-A now
7:22
We just got to the Gulf on Okaloosa Island. It's a very popular spot. You can dock your boat here, but because this event is going on, there's not a lot of room today
7:30
So we just beached our boat. Wild Charters is owned by the same folks that do the coconuts, pineapples, and some of the other vendor options out of Crab Island
7:38
But now they have their own boat. And is she a beaut? She's an amazing little Boston whaler. It's decked out to their exact specifications
7:45
Now, we have a very similar Boston whaler, except for ours isn't nearly as fancy
7:50
We'll leave links and their information in the description below for you to book your charter. but it looks like you can pack probably seven people on here
7:56
They got cushions, cup holders, and everything is in this beautiful pink
8:23
Thank you
8:55
I'm here with Makayla
9:23
She's the owner of Wild Charters and she's gonna tell us about her new business. Hi, this is my beautiful
9:29
1966 restored Boston Whaler. She's obviously pink and adorable. We just started our charter business here in Destin and we're just so excited to be offering this service on such a cool and unique
9:41
Special Boston Wheeler. It's very beautiful. Thank you. You did a really good job on it. We love her
9:47
She's so cute everywhere we go you could just see people light up when they see her or they wave. They like
9:52
immediately have a response when they see this boat so it's cool to be around
9:56
on her for sure. How long did it take you to restore it? So we bought the hull
10:00
itself already restored. There was a guy down in South Florida that was doing charters on it and so we bought it from him but it was still like a kit that we
10:07
had to put together. Obviously like a boat it took double the amount of time
10:11
that I wanted it to take and a lot more money as well. It took us about four
10:14
months to get it all done. If you want to come and look into all the charter
10:18
options that we offer on beautiful Gidget here on the Emerald Coast, you can go to wilddestin.com
10:23
slash charter. And then if you just want to look into our coconut boats and all the other offerings
10:28
that Wild has around town, you can find us at wilddestin.com. Thank you so much for having us
10:33
out here. Thank you. Well, we've had an absolute blast. A great time out of Crab Island trying all
10:39
kinds of new foods. And we got to go to the launch party of Wild Charters and their boat is beautiful
10:44
and we had a blast. Special thank you to Michaela for letting us come out
10:48
getting Terry this awesome hat, got us a cool flag, and we will definitely be looking
10:52
to charter her boat for a future bachelorette party if that ever happens
10:58
But if you like this video, check out this video right here where we tried a whole bunch of other food at Crab Island
11:03
Thanks again for following along in this episode and join us next time when we try something else new
11:07
for the first time. Don't forget to like, tone, and subscribe. First timers. High five
11:13
Let us know if you'd like get to come out and do another video out here checking out other vendors like Cowboy... Okay
