So this is the Super 3D pen by MYNT3D
0:04
So in this video, I'm going to do a quick unboxing and go ahead and test it out to see how well this works
0:09
So this just opens up nice and easy like so. And the first thing I see in the front is going to be this user manual
0:15
We're going to have this contact page, the USB power cable, the 5-volt power adapter, two mini screwdrivers, the 3D pen itself, and finally the PLA filament
0:24
So we're going to have yellow, tan, and blue. So here's a closer look at the pen and right here we can see the logo and this is going to be 5 volts and 2 amps
0:32
Now taking a look at the top, this is where we're going to go ahead and plug it in to give it power
0:37
And now taking a look on the side over here, we're going to have this rubber cap and this is going to be the temperature screw cover
0:43
And here's what it goes ahead and looks like. And then there's going to be two lights
0:48
The light on the left is going to let us know when the temperature is ready and the light on the right is going to be the power indicator light
0:53
Now taking a look at the other side, we're going to have two buttons. This one near the nozzle is going to go ahead and be the feed button
0:59
And if we double click it, it's going to give us continuous feed And then the back button is going to go ahead and be to withdraw the actual filament
1:06
And then right here is going to be the stepless speed control And here's what the nozzle goes ahead and looks like
1:11
So before I start drawing with this, I want to go ahead and make a template
1:14
And so I found this little dinosaur on google So I just want to go ahead and draw it up
1:19
Now I could go ahead and print it, but that's no fun So I'd rather just go ahead and draw it
1:23
Alright, and there it is and of course it doesn't look identical and I drew a little slip for the mouth because I think
1:29
it looked a lot cooler when I go ahead and use the 3d pen and I also just put one leg instead of
1:35
two otherwise it would look kind of awkward when I go ahead and uh and print it but yeah let me go
1:39
ahead and get started now. So one thing to note is that you can't just draw directly on top of the
1:44
paper otherwise it's going to go ahead and get stuck so I have a bit of tape so I can just go
1:48
Then tape right on top and there. So before turning this on I do want to go ahead and make sure that the temperature is
1:58
set correctly so this part can be lifted right up and if you look closely you can go ahead
2:03
and see some numbers in here and now what I have to go ahead and set it to is under
2:07
190 degrees because that's going to be for PLA. And if I had ABS I would set it for over 190 degrees and with the plastic screwdriver it
2:16
it can go ahead and be screwed in. So clockwise would be increasing temperature
2:20
counterclockwise would be decreasing. And in this case, it's set to the upper right corner
2:26
So that's pretty much pretty fine. So I can go ahead and just close the cover back up
2:30
and then I can go ahead and proceed to plug it in. And there it goes ahead and lights red
2:34
letting me know that it on All right so I can go ahead and just press the feed button and it should go ahead and blink And after about a minute the blinking should stop and that means it ready for the filament to be loaded So I just go ahead and wait about a minute now
2:47
Alright, now it's ready so I can go ahead and load the filament. And I'm going to go ahead and use the blue
2:52
I can go ahead and place it right on top over here. Just push it down and then once I can't push anymore, this can be double pressed for the feed
3:00
And now it's starting. So if I move it upwards, it's actually going to speed up
3:04
so I moved it all the way up now it's going as quick as possible it's also
3:08
loudest so here I'll wait a bit until it gets to the tip
3:16
there it's coming off now and that's the little bit and now let me start
3:27
Alright, and there it is. So it's still coming off even though I went to the slowest as possible
3:37
So if I want, I can go ahead and wipe it off and I'm going to start coloring it now. and there so I went ahead and pressed feed again and then it stopped going
4:07
and then here you can kind of see a little bit more of the tip
4:11
all right the dinosaur should be dry now so I can go ahead and lift it up
4:16
oh wow it's really smooth on the back and there it is and of course here you can see the bits that
4:25
kind of got stuck in the beginning so I can go ahead and just snip that off just like so and then
4:31
I have like a little bit over here and then I want to get to the mouth as well too and use a closer
4:42
look at the dinosaur and I think it ended up looking real nice now of course there are going
4:46
to be little spots that I miss but that's because I kind of couldn't see fully when I was recording
4:50
and also drawing. And here's what the back looks like. Again, it's going to be extremely smooth
4:56
And then you can kind of see like a little divot over here. And that's basically where
4:59
both of the ends of the tape went ahead and met. Some more over here. And then here, yeah
5:04
I'm definitely glad I went ahead and left an opening for the mouth just because it looks a lot nicer
5:08
Now, what I wish I should have done is drawn the eye and kind of draw around it
5:12
I think that would have ended up looking real cool. But other than that, I pretty happy with it And now let me go ahead and do one more design but freehand this time So this part can go ahead and come right off there so now i want to go ahead and change filament so i do have
5:26
to go ahead and wait for it to heat up a little bit again and i can go ahead and press and hold the withdraw button and it comes right off so one thing worth noting is next time i want to go ahead
5:40
and use this filament i have to go ahead and make sure it's cut at an angle so i'll actually go ahead
5:44
and do that right now. Just like so. And now I want to put the yellow filament but I see
5:52
that the top isn't snipped so I'll go ahead and do that now. I can go ahead and just put
5:59
this right on top. And then just like before, double press the button and it starts to feed
6:05
and then I can go ahead and press it up or slide it up for it to go ahead and speed up
6:09
And of course it does have to spit out that blue so I'll just wait for that. And here you can see it kind of meshed with the blue a little bit
6:28
So now it's full of yellow. Low interest rateankind crashesonde upon 13 most weeks Six days later cough patients on 3x All right so there it is
8:08
I tried to draw like a star character with things coming out of his mouth. And then I kind of decided to change things up and then I drew a base for him and it stands
8:17
up as you see. But I do want to go ahead and cut some of the imperfections out, such as this over here
8:22
at the bottom. And here's what it goes ahead and looks like. I think the base ended up looking pretty cool and of course this isn't the best design
8:30
I definitely do need a lot more practice and then the head kind of twisted up
8:34
But I think my dinosaur came up looking a lot neater, a lot cleaner as well too, just because I came with a plan and this one I didn't go with much of a plan going forward
8:47
And there. And then like before I can go ahead and cut like at an angle
8:52
is just for next time's use. And then go ahead and disconnect it. And of course don't touch the
8:58
nozzle just because it's still going to be hot. So I'll go ahead and use this right over here just
9:04
to take off some of the yellow bits that got stuck on top. And there now it's nice and clean. So
9:08
overall I'm pretty happy about the Super 3D Pen. I will say some things to note about it is it did
9:13
get kind of hot especially when I was touching more at the bottom. But of course you should
9:18
pretty much keep your hands away from over here these vents and of course don't even touch the nozzle. And then the other thing that was a bit confusing for me would have been the
9:26
slider because when I first started I thought down meant go quick but it was actually the other way
9:32
around so when I wanted to go ahead and go fast I had to slide it upwards. But after I figured that
9:37
out everything was pretty much straightforward. Of course it definitely does take practice to go
9:42
ahead and get good and I'm sure you can kind of see that from my art piece. It wasn't really the
9:47
best, but I'm still pretty happy that I did manage to do something at least 3D. And of course, with
9:53
the right template, it's going to be a lot easier, you know, such as making this dinosaur over here
9:58
No, I think it turned out, you know, pretty decent. And I do like the fact that it was nice and smooth on the backside. So yeah, once again, you're going to get three filaments included
10:06
and the little screwdrivers. And I think the annoying part about it was the fact to change
10:12
the temperature I had to go ahead and open this cap over here and then go ahead and you know turn
10:19
it over but I think that goes ahead and makes sense for like a safety precaution so you know
10:24
if you're giving this to like your kid and you don't want them to go ahead and accidentally you know put the temperature too high that it'll be too high for the filament you're using you know
10:31
that's a pretty good safety concern but other than that again I'm pretty happy with it and if you're
10:36
looking for a 3D pen whether it be for yourself or for a gift for somebody I think this one's
10:40
definitely worth checking out
