So I just got the Scrib 3D P1 pen, so I just want to do a quick unboxing, go ahead and test it out to
0:05
see how well this really works. So the box just opens up real easy and the first thing I see is
0:09
going to be this welcome paper and underneath we're going to have the pen tucked away in this
0:13
plastic container and in this plastic baggie, here it is. Yeah, this thing looks really cool
0:19
We're going to have a few buttons up top, a screen and on the side we're going to have some buttons
0:23
and as well on the other side over here to go ahead and like kind of move it down and up
0:28
I'll go ahead and mess with that a little bit more. But beforehand, let's see what else comes in here
0:32
So here's the power brick, the power cable, the user manual, the quick start stencil guide, the qualified certificate, and three bags of filament which are red, white, and black
0:40
Alright, now comes the fun part which is actually to test this out. And so I was taking a look at the instructions over here and over here and it kind of told me a little bit more about it
0:49
So as far as all the pen functions go, right here this is going to go ahead and be to speed it up
0:54
and right here this is for the filament to go ahead and move forward and to reverse and you
0:59
would only go ahead and use reverse if you know I'm trying to take out one of the old filaments and trying to replace it with a new one and then over here this is basically just the toggle between
1:07
the different types of filaments we'll be using whether it be PLA or ABS and in this case it'll
1:13
be PLA so I can just go ahead and plug it in right over here and then what you see right now is going
1:20
to be the type of filament I can select from. So it says PLA. I don't want that. ABS. I don't want
1:27
that. Actually, yeah, I do want PLA because this is PLA. So I can leave it as is. And then the
1:31
starter, I can just press, and now it's red, which means it's not ready. So it's at 39 degrees, 40
1:37
42, et cetera, et cetera. And then I can go ahead and adjust the temperature by pressing up or
1:41
pressing down In this case the temperature is set to 180 degrees So I just go ahead and wait for that to go ahead and get to that temperature and after that ready i can go ahead and put the filament in
1:53
so while i go ahead and wait i'm just going to go ahead and select my filament so i have a red white and black that it comes with so i'm going to go ahead and opt for black
2:01
now that it's green i can go ahead and just put the filament right on top here but beforehand i do have to make sure that the tip is cut at an angle which it is so i can just go
2:11
and insert it just like so and then when I press the forward button it'll go ahead and start moving
2:15
and I selected the animation the little drawing I want to make which is going to be the Batman logo
2:19
otherwise if you want to go ahead and opt for the ones it comes with here it gives you like a sheet
2:23
so there's going to be like a ladybug a car puzzle pieces and a butterfly and on the back side we're
2:31
going to have sunglasses and a bicycle so I'm just going to go ahead and draw directly on top of the
2:35
table so hopefully it'll be fine all right so I forgot to hit record but I accidentally end up
2:39
making this. I wasn't ready for it because it was coming out, but let me do a take two
2:44
and there. So I'll go ahead and just plug this back in here, and then again select PLA
2:50
press the arrow, and there it's ready, so I'll go ahead and start. So I'll press the forward button
2:55
and I'll go all the way down so it's as quick as possible, and here it's coming out
3:00
so it doesn't look like much now but just wait and see just wait and see
3:11
all right so here's what it goes ahead and looks like and i think you can see the resemblance
3:17
yeah it's it's not very good i wanted to cut these parts off just so the wings can be a little
3:23
bit more pronounced so let's see if it's easy to do so and yeah so far i can go ahead and cut it
3:28
pretty easily. And there it is that my first 3D pen art piece but i know i can do a lot better so i just going
3:41
to go ahead and draw a reference image so i can go ahead and trace it over with the pen itself
3:47
all right and i think this is definitely going to help a lot and i'm also going to go ahead and
3:57
tape this to the table so it doesn't go ahead and move around. Alright, take two
4:10
Oh yeah, that definitely came out so much better. Now I'm just going to go ahead and fill everything up
4:14
yeah i'm much happier with this so far and here let me cut this little strand off here
4:30
so i was afraid this might happen the paper got stuck there maybe i should have put like
4:48
another layer of like tape on top maybe that would have helped it so
4:52
the second one definitely came out better but i can do even better so time for a third time now
5:48
there. Now, the moment of truth. Let's see if it's not stuck to the tape now
5:56
Oh, that's perfect. Wow. Look at that. Look at the back. It looks so nice. It's actually really
6:06
shiny as well too. And then here's what the front looks like. So I do want to go ahead and fix it a
6:10
little bit. I'm going to take off this small strand here. I'll cut a little bit off the wing
6:15
all right so now i want to go ahead and put the filament in white and to do that i have to just
6:20
press this button up top and then we'll go ahead and reverse this so i can go ahead and take it off
6:25
and there it came off and here's what it goes and looks like so next time i go ahead and use this
6:30
3d pen i have to go ahead and make sure i cut this at an angle and there now it's ready for
6:35
next time use and then here you can go ahead and see the three generations of batman logos i made
6:41
The first one freehand it good start but not very not very good second one much better
6:48
Unfortunately, I didn't put tape over my my template and then third time is a charm
6:52
I put the table in the template nothing stuck. It's nice and shiny But I didn't go ahead and fill in the gaps correctly, you know as much as I did on the second one
7:01
But overall I'm pretty happy with the scribe 3d pen I definitely recommend using templates or making your own and making sure to put some sort of tape or plastic over it
7:09
Just to make it easy to peel afterwards
