For years, gas was the easy choice if you had a lot of snow to clear
0:04
Electric blowers were quieter and easier to maintain, but many of them just didn't have the power or runtime to keep up
0:11
But that's changed a lot. Battery models have gotten much stronger, and even corded blowers can handle smaller jobs with ease
0:18
So today, I'm breaking down the 7 best electric snow blowers to see how far they've come and what each one brings to the table
0:25
And if you find something you like, I'll leave links to all the electric snow blowers in the description below
0:29
I've also tagged each product throughout the video so you can check them out. First up is the AmeriSun
0:37
And this is a corded blower with a 15 amp motor that spins at 2100 RPM
0:42
Just plug it in and get to work. You are tied to an outlet though, so it works best when you have a smaller area to clear
0:48
And the AmeriSun clears a 21 inch path and can handle snow up to 12 and a half inches deep
0:53
Now the chute turns 180 degrees so you can send the snow to either side
0:57
And a deflector on the top lets you change the height of the snow stream too
1:02
And with a 30 foot max throw, you can push each load farther from the driveway
1:06
leaving more space for the next snowfall. Now there's also an LED light up on the front
1:11
which is handy if you're clearing snow early in the morning or later at night
1:15
Now at around 40 pounds, the blower is pretty easy to pick up and carry once you're finished
1:20
The handles fold down too, cutting about 14 inches off its height
1:23
and making it easier to tuck away until the next storm. Next is the Westinghouse WSnow 20
1:32
And the auger caught my attention right away because it isn't your typical all steel design
1:37
The main part is steel though, which helps it work through packed snow, but the tips
1:41
are something else. They're rubber. And this is right where the auger comes closest to the pavement
1:46
So this means you can run it low along the ground with less worry about scuffing concrete
1:51
or chipping away pavers. Now there's plenty of power behind this auger too
1:55
The motor pulls out 1800 watts and can move up to 680 pounds of snow per minute
2:00
And that enough to clear a 20 inch path and handle snow up to 10 inches deep in one pass Now if you ever pushed anything across icy snow you know how quickly the wheels can start slipping And that where the
2:11
7 inch wheels come in. They have a snow ready tread that keeps them from spinning on slick surfaces
2:16
so the machine can keep moving steadily even when the driveway gets icy. Now go up front and you're
2:22
gonna find two LED headlights. And these can help you spot rocks, branches, or other things hiding
2:27
under the snow before the auger reaches them. And that matters because anything hard can jam the
2:32
auger or get thrown back towards you. And a little extra visibility can help you avoid that kind of
2:37
surprise from happening. Up next is the Toro Max Power Clear. Now this one runs on a 60 volt battery
2:45
so you can move around the driveway freely without an extension cord behind you. So pop the battery
2:50
in and you're ready to clear. Toro also carries that same flex force platform across a long list
2:56
of outdoor tools such as mowers, trimmers, blowers, and even some commercial grade equipment
3:01
all use it. So this snow blower makes even more sense if you're already in the Toro ecosystem
3:07
Now the trade-off is charging time. The full charge takes about 5 hours and you get around
3:11
45 minutes of runtime. And once you get moving, RunSmart takes care of the power. The three-phase
3:17
brushless motor is automatically going to adjust to the snow in front of it. Light snow is going to
3:21
need less power and packed snow gets more so you don't have to stop and change anything. Another
3:27
standout feature is the power edge auger and this thing is made out of steel and can actually scrape
3:31
along the pavement. Most snowblowers leave a thin layer of snow behind but this one gets much closer
3:36
to the surface. You can leave less snow on the driveway which can help prevent the leftover layer
3:41
from turning into ice later. So if you want cordless convenience and strong clearing power
3:46
then this one is worth a look at. Next up is the house life
3:52
and this machine weighs only 22 pounds. The wheels roll easily too
3:56
and the ergonomic handle gives you a secure grip even with thick winter gloves on
4:00
Then there's the auger, and this is where things get a little different
4:04
Instead of steel it uses high density polymer so it much kinder to delicate surfaces such as wood decks pavers and decorative stone Now the 180 degree chute also lets you redirect snow as you work and you can even adjust the
4:18
deflector to change the height of the throw. Keep it low near a walkway or raise it when the snow needs to travel farther
4:24
Now despite its small size, the house life still has some serious clearing ability
4:29
Its 3000 RPM brushless motor can clear a 20 inch path and handle snow up to 12 inches deep
4:35
If you want to check out any of these electric snowblowers featured in this video, I put
4:38
links to all of them in the description below. Next we have the Cobalt Gen 4 and this isn't your usual chute control
4:48
Cobalt puts a joystick right on the handle and the chute follows your hand
4:52
A quick push sends the snow into a new direction so there's no need to stop and work a crank
4:57
every few feet. The auger speed can change too and that affects how far the snow travels
5:02
A little snow doesn't need the same power as a heavy pile. Save the higher speed for tougher stuff and you may get a little more time from the batteries
5:09
along the way. Now speaking of batteries, there's two 40 volt packs here, each with its own bay
5:14
You get around 27 minutes of runtime per charge and a full recharge takes about an hour
5:19
And Cobalt covers the battery packs for three years. Now the handle adjusts to suit your height too
5:24
Set it higher or lower and the controls stay where your hand naturally falls as you push
5:29
It's a small touch but you'll appreciate it more the longer you're out clearing snow
5:35
Next up is the Ego SNT2114. It's cordless but you won't mistake it for a light-duty machine
5:42
Two 56 volt batteries power the steel auger through heavy snow and ice and the machine can
5:47
send snow up to 40 feet. Now you still get strong clearing power but skip all the hassle that comes
5:52
with gas. That makes the whole job quieter and much cleaner. The 21 inch clearing width keeps the
5:58
the machine easy to manage too, so you get a decent path with each pass. But the blower
6:02
still stays easy to guide when you reach tighter spots. And once you need to change direction
6:07
the chute control sits right on the handle A simple twist sends the snow left right or anywhere in between through its 180 degree range If the wind shifts halfway through the driveway you can redirect the snow right away instead of having it blow into your face
6:22
What's even more impressive is how much ground you can cover before you need to recharge
6:26
Ego says one charge can clear up to a 16 car driveway with 8 inches of snow. And when both
6:31
batteries finally run out, the dual port quick charger handles them at the same time. This means
6:36
you don't have to wait for one battery to finish before the other starts. It takes about 120 minutes
6:41
for a full charge and the LED indicator tells you how far along it is. Starting it is pretty
6:46
straightforward too. Just press the button and the motor starts right up. There's no pull cord to
6:51
fight with and you don't have to wait for an engine to warm up before you can start clearing
6:55
On a freezing morning, I'd take that kind of convenience especially when I just want to get
6:59
some snow cleared and get back inside. Finally we have the Voltask and safety
7:06
gets a little more attention here. Before the auger can spin, you have to press both safety buttons
7:11
And that extra step helps keep the machine from starting by accident, especially when you're
7:16
dealing with a clog. It's built to handle wet conditions too. And the main components are
7:21
waterproof, so wet snow and slush aren't a big concern. And if the auger hits a load that's too
7:26
much for the motor, the machine shuts itself off. Just back it up, clear some snow, and you're ready
7:32
to go again. There's also more power behind this little blower than you might expect
7:36
The 1600 watt brushless motor spins at 1900 rpm and it can clear snow up to 10 inches deep. That
7:43
means the auger can dig well into a deeper snowfall and keep pushing the snow out so you're clearing
7:48
more than just the top layer. Another highlight is the adjustable handle. Set it at a height that
7:53
lets your arm sit naturally and you won't have to hunch over the blower as you work. The two LED
7:58
lights are useful too. They make it easier to see where the snow is going so you can steer the spray
8:02
away from anyone walking nearby. So if you want plenty of power with some extra built-in safety
8:07
features, the Voltask brings those features together in one machine. And that's all for today. I hope
8:12
this list helped you find the perfect electric snow blower. And if you find something to like
8:16

8:19
video. Thanks for watching
