► 1st Pillar: Intermittent Fasting
Intermittent fasting is a way of eating that cycles between periods of eating and fasting. Instead of focusing on what you eat, it's all about when you eat. It's like taking breaks from eating to give your body a rest.
During the fasting periods, your body uses stored energy, like fat, for fuel. This can help with weight loss. But intermittent fasting offers more than just that. It may improve your metabolism, lower the risk of diseases, and even boost brain function.
There are different ways to do it, like the 16/8 method, where you fast for 16 hours and eat during an 8-hour window. Another way is the 5:2 approach, where you eat normally for 5 days and limit calorie intake on 2 non-consecutive days.
► 2nd Pillar: Ketogenic Diet
A healthy ketogenic diet is all about eating in a way that encourages your body to use fat for energy instead of carbs. Here's how it works:
Low Carb: You eat very few carbs, like bread, pasta, and sugar. Instead, you focus on foods like vegetables, nuts, and seeds.
Moderate Protein: You have a moderate amount of protein, like meat, fish, and eggs. Too much protein can stop your body from getting into ketosis, which is the state where it burns fat for energy.
High Fat: You eat plenty of healthy fats, such as avocados, nuts, and olive oil. These fats are essential for the diet to work.
