Meet the 3-Year-Old Math Prodigy Shocking the World! | SWAY’S UNIVERSE

0:00
ladies and gentlemen this young
0:03
mathematician is a genius he's been a
0:06
math genius since the age of 15 months
0:09
he's been on America's Got Talent a lot
0:11
of people saw you on America's Got
0:13

1:01
I love it man well Welcome to our show I
1:04
I've watched you on America's Got Talent
1:06
and on YouTube and you're quite an
1:08
awesome young man he's going straight to
1:10
the board right there he want to do ma
1:11
he want Devon loves numbers that's what
1:14
happened Dwayne welcome to the show
1:17
Mano did he literally just write 6
1:19
times8 he just wrote that out and just
1:22
put the answer he just ran to the board
1:24
and put 6 * 8
1:26
equals 6 48
1:30
all right okay I love this dein that's
1:32
Heather right there say hi to Heather hi
1:35
Miss Heather
1:38
Heather how are
1:42
you young yeah I'm doing good you're
1:44
doing great I'm doing great all right
1:46
good okay let me tell okay so Dwayne I
1:50
find this phenomenal yeah what you all
1:53
have been able to do with Deon right
1:55
bless and and and and I say this because
1:58
um I don't think it's I think it has a
2:02
lot to do with the choices you made
2:04
right exactly in in in terms
2:06
of when even when Devon is was in still
2:09
in the womb right correct you guys
2:12
obviously made some conscious choices
2:14
know genus oh oh say that again D I'm
2:17
sorry say that again what you say who's
2:19
a
2:20
genius and you're a child who's a genius
2:24
in your town in your town in your town
2:27
what did you say what say in your town
2:29
in your town so talk to us how can all
2:31
of our kids be like this yeah so you
2:33
know when um it was a it was a conscious
2:36
effort on on me and my wife's part to uh
2:38
create a Baby Genius cuz uh my wife uh
2:41
been through five miscarriages we been
2:43
through five miscarriages um multiple uh
2:46
failed fertility treatments two iuis
2:48
that failed and then we were scheduled
2:50
for IVF um actually two months before
2:53
Devon was conceived so you know once we
2:55
found that out you know we knew he was a
2:57
miracle baby we were like you know we
2:59
we're going to do all that we could do
3:00
cuz he's a gift from God so we're going
3:01
to do all that we can do to nurture this
3:03
gift so right away we went into like
3:05
research and on brain development know
3:08
so we hit the hit on hit the internet
3:10
just scurrying everything and um you
3:13
know we found out that reading and uh
3:15
classical music while still in the womb
3:17
during the second trimester cuz the
3:19
second trimester is when uh babies uh
3:21
first start to develop their hearing so
3:24
we started that from the second
3:25
trimester every every um every night for
3:28
at least 30 minutes and fun fact uh the
3:31
uh the governor you know classical music
3:33
is is very important M uh because uh
3:36
even the governor of Georgia in 1998
3:39
good job buddy good job well Devon's
3:41
just been while while DNE is talking if
3:43
you don't mind Devon has wrote out a
3:45
bunch of equations here while he was
3:48
talking what is that Devon what is that
3:49
Pi what is how much is pi equal that's
3:53
actually e that's actually that's what
3:55
went
4:00
4
4:01
6 31 419 2 5 3 5 8 9 7 3 2 3 4 6 6 4
4:11
338
4:13
327
4:15
oh anybody want to fact check yeah yeah
4:18
what what was that what equation was
4:20
that abely not I believe that's Pi Pi is
4:22
an infinite number so yeah he he knows
4:24
up to
4:26
332 digits right now off the head so uh
4:29
yeah but it goes on forever and ever and
4:31
ever so he has an early start on it so
4:33
he'll probably end up by th a thousand
4:35
numbers by the time he's like five years
4:37
old really and and so and so when he how
4:40
did you know your method worked when did
4:43
you know it worked yeah yeah we had come
4:45
here Papa dud behind the sway Universe
4:48
signs
4:49
he's he's three he's three okay go ahead
4:52
do your thing brother do your thing we
4:54
we had no idea it would work you know
4:56
what I'm saying um but uh you know we we
4:58
did a lot of research and we were
5:00
hopeful that it will work and uh you
5:02
know and you know with the like I was
5:05
saying with the um with the uh the
5:08
classical music that that's known to
5:10
develop the brain very early so it's
5:12
very important to have a strong
5:13
Foundation early and like I was getting
5:15
into uh the even in 1998 the governor we
5:18
read that the governor of Georgia uh
5:21
passed a bill to uh display uh issue out
5:25
uh CDs uh classical music CDs to all uh
5:29
parents uh in the hospital that had a
5:32
just newborn baby so if the government
5:35
was like if the government is handing
5:36
these out you know what I'm saying then
5:38
it's like it's something there so um you
5:41
know so we did that every night we did
5:44
that every night uh starting from the
5:47
second trimester I'm you
5:50
back how did you find out that math was
5:52
the strong like I shouldn't say strong
5:55
but at the most dominant at the time
5:57
because math to me is very specific spe
5:59
ific you know um and it seemed like
6:01
would almost be the last thing that a
6:04
child at that age would develop so
6:05
quickly when was that first moment when
6:08
you know it was like one plus one and he
6:10
was like two I I don't know how it
6:12
worked but what was the example yeah no
6:14
um like so we we taught him everything
6:16
from the beginning like we didn't know
6:17
that math uh he would stick to math but
6:19
we taught him like you know numbers we
6:21
taught him letters color shapes we
6:22
taught him everything we possibly could
6:24
because um from birth to three 3 years
6:28
old the the baby brain has developed uh
6:31
80% so that's wow that's between that
6:34
time that's the time you have to you
6:36
know put everything in their brain as as
6:39
as much as possible their brains are
6:41
truly like sponges so um uh the first
6:44
time we realized that he L numbers was
6:46
uh four months old uh yeah four months
6:48
old uh we we were watching um number
6:50
shows and um when we changed the channel
6:53
from the number shows he would start to
6:54
cry and when we changed the back he was
6:56
he would stop crying so it's very
6:57
important to kind of like just
7:00
pay attention to see their cues and what
7:02
they like you know what I'm saying so
7:03
once we realized that we we started uh
7:05
you know exposing him more and more to
7:07
numbers he just yeah how much time does
7:10
he spend on a on a laptop or on a on a
7:14
phone learning how much screen time does
7:16
he spend so with the phones we don't
7:18
give him phones we don't give him um uh
7:21
uh IP iPads anything like that the most
7:24
we do if we give him a phone he he wants
7:26
to be on a calculator on the phone or or
7:28
he wants to look up high so you you know
7:29
what I'm saying but that's like the most
7:30
but uh we we we uh believe in like uh
7:33
like TV like we we uh use TV you know
7:37
what I'm saying the old school old scho
7:39
you know like we grew up on TV you know
7:41
Saturday mornings I was included in
7:42
front of the TV hours you know what I'm
7:44
saying I turned out fine right so but um
7:47
yeah TV he it was a vital part in his
7:50
development as well but um also
7:52
following up with the TV like so if we
7:55
showed them some numbers on the TV we'll
7:56
go with the flash cards we'll start
7:57
showing some flash cards this is this is
7:59
one this is two this is three so just
8:01
follow it up just don't put him in front
8:02
of the TV and just think that the TV is
8:04
going to
8:05
uh but people just they just put their
8:08
kids in front of the TV so they can have
8:10
time off exct right um and you're not
8:12
the parents none y'all don't have
8:14
education as a background or nothing
8:15
right I'm a retired police officer my
8:17
wife is a nurse no no formal uh uh
8:20
education educational uh and teaching or
8:23
anything like that um we're not Scholars
8:26
or anything like that we just like we
8:28
just started early I think that's very
8:29
vital start early and anybody can can do
8:32
this you know if they just uh
8:34
consistency patience patience and praise
8:36
those are the three three key things yo
8:39
Devon just moved the chalkboard closer
8:41
to to to our guy to Drew so he could see
8:44
his equations yeah anybody can do this
8:47
anybody can do this this is what I want
8:49
to express the importance of this you
8:51
don't have to have no special
8:53
epigenetics right it's just it's the
8:55
training you don't need a million
8:57
dollars you don't have to be rich you
8:58
know you just need time dedicate time to
9:01
your child and that's it what do you
9:02
think about public school education what
9:04
are y'all going to do when you get older
9:05
uh public school um nothing wrong with
9:07
public school education but um you know
9:10
he I feel that puts kids in a box
9:13
especially uh if if they're like gifted
9:15
you know what I'm saying so if I put if
9:17
we put him in in in a in a public school
9:20
he probably you know won't really get
9:22
that you know he'll probably be bored
9:24
pretty much this guy Qui so we're we're
9:26
planning on uh homeschooling him um okay
9:29
I love this and then what kind of like
9:32
are y'all creating any I don't know
9:34
items where people could learn from you
9:35
doing books we we got a uh Deon Deon
9:39
Devin lovesn numbers.com
9:41
DV uh we have a curriculum on there that
9:44
explains in details everything we did
9:46
from like I said from birth from the
9:49
second trimester when he was in the womb
9:51
all the way from cuz there steps there's
9:53
phases uh zero to three months um you
9:56
have to we we expose him to high
9:58
contrast
10:00
uh high contrast images which are black
10:02
red and white cuz babies from three 0 to
10:04
3 months so 3 to 4 months they not able
10:06
to see that good or see colors that good
10:08
they see blurry so white black and white
10:11
white images we we always expose them to
10:13
that flash cards and even even down to
10:16
the The Mattress sheets right you know
10:17
so that that stimulates the brain the
10:19
mattress sheets even like the mattress
10:21
sheets will stimulate the brain
10:23
mattresses was like black black white
10:25
and red so like he can focus on that
10:27
that'll stimulate the visual sense and
10:30
and helping brain development as well
10:31
wait a minute I didn't do that for my
10:33
daughter you didn't know S I know the
10:36
little details the little little details
10:38
but my daughter actually we we did read
10:41
to her when she was in the womb and she
10:43
did hear a lot of music okay and she's
10:45
an exceptionally intelligent young way
10:48
more than I am right so maybe that had a
10:50
lot to do with it I want to open up
10:51
these phone lines to parents 888 742
10:54
3345 how to make your kid a genius and
10:57
then I wanted to see if Deon can show us
10:59
some equations how how can we do this
11:01
definely just erase the board just
11:03
probably start over yeah or turn the
11:06
board around and and start that way and
11:08
I I think too sway like a lot of parents
11:11
will call up because I love what he said
11:13
about paying attention and watching to
11:15
see what is it that they gravitated
11:17
towards first and then taking the time
11:19
out to develop that specific spe
11:23
specific gifts and skill set so get this
11:25
Dre I think it's amazing we always
11:27
follow his lead okay so de what you what
11:30
are you gonna do deavin what are you
11:31
showing us uh
11:34
oh okay let me see he's gonna show us
11:36
some man you said real math
11:40
okay a no miral man de real math okay so
11:45
Dwayne is putting up some equations can
11:47
you say what it is you put up 1 13 time
11:51
what number equals 91 13 * xals 91 he
11:54
put 7 what is that number is that Devin
11:57
is that positive seven he positive seven
12:00
yeah seven he did that
12:03
immediately
12:05
mhm it's very V we taught him his uh
12:08
it's very important to teach them their
12:09
uh multiplication facts very early like
12:12
kids like I said they're sponges um they
12:14
they can learn multiple languages very
12:16
early so like we math is the universal
12:18
language so we went with math and he put
12:21
five squ
12:23
equals 5 * posi equals 25 okay 19 Cub 19
12:30
Cub
12:33
equals he's writing it out
12:36
citizens 19 * positive 19 19 what does
12:41
that
12:46
equal wow this kid is figuring this out
12:49
at three yeah I know man look at
12:53
this yeah you did it give me a high five
12:56
man give me high five all right that's
12:58
my guy right there
12:59
wow I was still on my phone trying to
13:01
see if 13 * 7 was right what my
13:03
calculator we got 13
13:07
xal wow they're all correct he got it
13:10
all correct 5 = 25 19 Cub =
13:14
6,859 13 time postive 7 time posi 7 = 91
13:19
get that guy a round of applause wow
13:22
wait a minute hold up wow hold up you
13:24
think you could do some more uh oh he's
13:27
just doing his own equations now wow
13:29
this is amazing and then we'll take some
13:31
phone calls absolutely I know so many
13:32
parents would be interested in this
13:34
especially if they have children Devon's
13:36
age at three years old okay cool watch
13:38
your head Deon I don't want you to hit
13:40
your head buddy okay I'll put my hand
13:42
here I'm going to sacrifice my knuckles
13:44
for your forehead dein okay we got Danny
13:47
and Melissa they're on the line from
13:48
Baltimore what up Danny hey Danny hey
13:51
Melissa sorry it's DEA how are you good
13:56
morning DEA okay yes DEA how you
14:00
doing I'm good I'm good I hope
14:03
everybody's doing well today thank you
14:05
so much for taking my call um Devin's
14:08
mathematical skills are amazing my son
14:11
is three years old his name is custin
14:14
and I'm just wondering based on what you
14:15
were saying about the screen time how
14:18
much like how much support do you have
14:21
um because a lot of times parents are
14:23
putting their kids in front of the
14:24
screen because they literally just need
14:26
the Break um so I'm wondering how much
14:28
like extra support you might have with
14:31
extended family or um within the
14:34
community oh yeah definitely um you know
14:37
uh my my mom everybody my my cousins
14:41
Brothers if I bring him over there and
14:43
he stays there for a significant amount
14:44
of time they're on board they know that
14:46
you know I I don't want him he doesn't
14:48
even know what like who COC melon is or
14:50
anything like that we always expose him
14:52
to uh educational content so whenever
14:55
he's at the house they always they
14:56
always turned on uh educational cont
14:59
content cuz they so you know it's good
15:00
to have a support system and everybody's
15:02
on board you know so you know that's
15:04
very big he looking for his other color
15:07
what is he doing over is this marker
15:08
here um that one that one right there do
15:11
you worry though as a parent um with I'm
15:14
an advocate for homeschooling by the way
15:16
um I think that's always a great option
15:18
but what about interaction with kids his
15:21
age um what about interaction with kids
15:24
his age how does how do you develop that
15:28
yeah we we always bring him to um you
15:30
know like play play spaces and he has he
15:33
has uh he has siblings he has two other
15:35
siblings oh ni yeah older but you know
15:38
10 and 10 and eight years old um but
15:40
they play he plays with them uh
15:42
perfectly all the time interaction but
15:44
yeah always uh and my friends who have
15:46
kids his age always you know bring them
15:47
around and he's he's great with them you
15:49
know it's all about how you bring them
15:50
up and yeah you know definitely give uh
15:54
Danisha danisa did I say it correctly
15:57
yes you did okay how can she get tell
16:00
her where she should go and and others
16:02
can go to learn your method and what you
16:04
guys have done give her that website
16:05
information Deon loves numbers.com d v
16:08
an um we have a curriculum on there that
16:11
pretty much breaks down uh exactly in
16:13
details from what we did from the
16:14
beginning like I said from birth from
16:16
the second trimester and also we're
16:18
coming out with the book uh the Devon
16:20
loves numbers The Adventures of a math
16:22
genius and you know Devon doesn't only
16:24
love numbers he loves to read too and
16:26
read to him every night and yeah we
16:28
noticed said Devon um would bring us two
16:30
books he'll bring us like a math book
16:32
and he'll bring us like an adventure
16:33
book wow so we wanted to you know it
16:36
wasn't really one book that had both so
16:38
right you know Deon his book is going to
16:40
be like both you know like like it's
16:42
going to be Deon going on an adventure
16:44
and then solving math equations simple
16:46
math equations for you know kids to
16:48
that's starting out to to learn and to
16:50
to grow and and it's the first of a
16:52
series so uh you know beautiful I'm a
16:54
fan we're we're awesome we're on your
16:56
promotion team hey thank you for your
16:58
call
16:59
Denisa we appreciate you so okay you're
17:02
super citizen in the morning all right
17:04
we got um Paul on the line from DC Paul
17:07
Paul what up man how you doing
17:08
bro hey good morning how y'all doing
17:11
excellent nice to hear your voice say hi
17:13
to Dwayne and Devin how you doing Paul
17:16
hey good morning DNE morning say good
17:20
morning good morning Mr 3.14 etc etc
17:24
that I don't even know me either Paul
17:27
don't feel bad I mean Paul even have one
17:29
he he didn't have one word I was writing
17:31
raps sway was was running
17:35
track exactly equals MC square Paul but
17:38
go ahead what's your
17:40
comment I I just as a single father of
17:42
an eight-year-old um I couldn't applaud
17:45
and salute uh you know this call more
17:50
and uh like same same here uh from the
17:53
classical music you know when she was in
17:55
her mother's you know belly um to to
17:58
giving them the platform and
18:00
opportunities to
18:03
succeed he just did another equation
18:05
Paul whenever Devon finish an equation
18:07
we celebrate
18:10
yeah that's right that's right and so I
18:13

20:40

20:43

21:34
I'm going give you a high five wow buddy
21:37
let me see that wow wow man it's so
21:40
incredible citizens like and and again
21:43
love to you and your wife and your
21:45
family because to see this in person is
21:49
just mindboggling like I'm I'm looking
21:51
at him and it just shows the potential
21:53
of what kids can actually do and it
21:56
makes you realize how limit
21:59
you know like we're limiting ourselves
22:01
every single day you know um to see him
22:04
at 3 years old I can't even imagine what
22:06
it's going to be at five for him well
22:09
and it also makes you wonder because
22:11
these his parents aren't Educators
22:13
they're not they're not specialist in
22:14
this they just looked up a few things
22:16
they made a little bit of effort put the
22:18
effort in they put the effort in and see
22:20
how it's gone a long way this is an
22:22
information that's hidden though right
22:23
so why isn't these methods implemented
22:26
already in our Public School curriculum
22:28
why all our kids could be like this why
22:31
aren't they why aren't we giving them
22:33
these tools right yeah I didn't love
22:35
math growing up and you know I wasn't
22:37
really great at it my wife either it's
22:38
just uh it all starts with one plus one
22:40
you know yeah and that's it once they
22:42
learn that it's just uh just The
22:44
Snowball Effect after that then you go
22:46
on to one plus two one plus three and
22:49
then do you ever have to discipline him
22:51
of course he's a he's you know know you
22:54
got to feel he's so cute man how what
22:56
are you do you put in his place
22:59
sometimes really he'll run all over you
23:01
definitely but wow now he's just hanging
23:04
out here he's he's writing too at three
23:07
at three and his manuscript is like he
23:10
went to a professional School seriously
23:12
his script is unbelievable he spelling
23:14
out Devon loves numbers add three
23:17
beautiful pen you you mind taking one
23:19
more call you mind taking any more calls
23:22
to one okay okay we got U we got um um
23:25
George from Nashville who's been holding
23:27
for a while man what's good family yo so
23:31
congrats to the kid congrats to the wife
23:34
congrats to your queen man look let me
23:36
say this I have a 14y old who is just
23:39
like him we did the exact same thing I'm
23:42
just here to cosign that it works okay
23:45
right now what we did is exactly what
23:48
you planned on doing we took him to
23:49
every school he went through the public
23:52
school private school we ended up having
23:55
a home school um because the last school
23:58
we took him to was a monory school and I
24:01
figured well it goes all the way up to
24:03
grade six so that'll challenge it he was
24:06
in the third grade and they said that
24:08
we're gonna have to come back next year
24:09
with new curriculum for him because he's
24:12
done all our curriculum right and so we
24:14
put him in a school now here's the
24:16
school it's called Enlighten Enlighten
24:19
him out of Spokane Washington like
24:22
Enlighten the Mind enlightening him
24:25
Academy um he did phenomenal we put
24:28
after three years and then put him back
24:30
in middle school and he's thriving right
24:32
now he skipped the fourth grade while he
24:34
was being H School uhuh and now he's a
24:37
South Moore at um in high school out
24:40
here in Tennessee so man you guys are
24:42
doing a phenomenal job the program the
24:44
plan work if you can squeeze it all in
24:46
in that zero to three four years old
24:49
they absorb it all and it is phenomenal
24:53
man George thank you for sharing your
24:54
journey in this too and giving out this
24:56
information make sure you all these guys
24:59
y' y'all should know each other Deon
25:00
loves numbers all right GE you're a
25:02
super citizen I'm going take one more
25:04
Ryan in Minnesota would you like to
25:07
say oh uh I just want to say hi I
25:10
appreciate you guys long time listener
25:12
first time caller um I've got a
25:15
six-year-old and a
25:17
two-year-old um I'm really looking
25:20
forward to getting this Devon love
25:23
numbers in their face and kind of
25:25
showing them you know what they can be
25:27
their they're both very bright kids uh
25:30
my six-year-old
25:32
is very very smart you can read write
25:35
know as ters no as numb he's great at
25:37
math um I've taught him some basic
25:39
algebra already um wow that's six
25:44
just it's it's awesome to hear about
25:46
this kind of stuff and and and learn
25:48
about other techniques that are that are
25:50
out there the classical music thing I
25:52
never thought of but I'm going to start
25:54
bringing that into uh the mix and and
25:58
and seeing if that you know makes a
26:00
difference because it sounds like it
26:01
really has a lot of impact on on their
26:04
brains and I'm I'm really looking
26:05
forward to see how that works wow man
26:08
and congratulations to you Ryan feels
26:09
like you put in the work too man so
26:11
congratulation on your kids Ryan and
26:13
he's a first time caller toward give it
26:15
to him let's go
26:19
baby thank you for calling Ryan welcome
26:21
to the
26:23
tribe man Hey listen man Dwayne what
26:27
well what part of the country you live
26:29
in I'm in I'm in Queens oh you here yeah
26:32
I'm I'm a New York guy oh man you need a
26:34
Babys let's go M you for the Mets steeve
26:38
uh Yankees yke you know hey I'm I'm a
26:40
New York fan so Yankees first then Mets
26:43
you know what I'm saying I don't hate on
26:44
the M got it um what would you like to
26:46
say to our audience in closing yeah so
26:48
you know um at first we were a little
26:51
apprehensive of putting you know Deon
26:53
online and posting him but once we see
26:55
the reactions you know from the from the
26:57
parents and saying how inspired they
26:59
were and how motivated they are and how
27:01
you know they're going to show this to
27:02
their child you know that made us you
27:04
know say you know what we're going to
27:05
we're going to you know put him out
27:07
there and to inspire to to motivate and
27:10
to you know let parents know like hey
27:12
you know this is the way to go like
27:15
early from zero to three months from not
27:16
even Zero from from second trimester in
27:19
the womb you know like if everybody
27:21
implements that you know like invest in
27:23
their their legacy you know then this
27:25
world will be an amazing place you know
27:28
what I'm saying this guy is so smart at
27:30
some point in his life he's going to be
27:31
able to communicate with you without
27:34
words cuz you don't know what parts of
27:36
the brain are underdeveloped right and
27:39
when you're tapping into this while
27:41
someone is still pregnant and it's
27:43
having this activation take place it we
27:45
truly don't know our full potential with
27:47
our brains we've heard this our whole
27:49
lives right and I'm witnessing this guy
27:52
this three-year-old is doing problems I
27:55
had equations I had problems with in
27:57
Junior high in high school now did you
27:59
have problems with now sway no no E
28:02
equals MC
28:04
squ that's what you got I learned that
28:06
from
28:10
De 10 time 10 is 100 Heather I got it
28:13
right so hey Devin what's 10
28:16

28:20

28:24

28:32

28:35
breath this guy is just he's throwing
28:36
out s challenge me for real he's doing
28:38
math he's doing math Man Devin it's a
28:42

28:44
