As with seemingly everything else, the cost to bring a new video game to market rises every year. With production costs now in the hundreds of millions for AAA titles, we can be confident that, when a game gets cancelled, this hints at some serious problems going on in the development process. Hype for unreleased titles can get a little crazy, especially when footage is shown at places like E3. Even when it becomes clear that hope for a game's release is now dead and gone, certain pockets within the fandom still cling to hope that someone, somewhere will pick up the project. And most of the time it doesn't work out. Here are overhyped games that were never released.
