If you want to pass your CPA exams quickly and efficiently while still having a life
0:05
even if you're working full time, then you're going to want to watch this video because I'm going to explain the biggest misconception about the CPA study process that affects all areas of the CPA study process
0:17
And then I'm going to show you the only three things that really matter when it comes to your CPA study process that turns into passing scores on test day
0:26
Now, I know I interrupted what you are about to watch. So in this short video, I'm going to give you the big picture, the 30,000 foot view of the big misconception and then the only three things that matter
0:38
Now, if you want a deeper dive with actual examples of the strategies I'm going to mention, then we have a free training webinar that we do where you can sign up for and watch this one hour training that will walk through the strategies I'm about to go over in detail, including specific examples
0:55
You can click on the button that's somewhere around this video to sign up for that at any time during this video
1:01
So the big misconception is that passing your CPA exams is strictly about putting in a ton of time and effort and hard work
1:11
Now, let me flesh that out and don't misunderstand me. Even with an absolutely perfect set of study strategies and the perfect study routine
1:20
this is obviously still going to take a lot of work on a daily basis
1:25
going to need to be dedicated, committed, focused. What I'm referring to is a lot of people
1:31
that are out there, they're dedicated, they're putting in a lot of study time. And when they sit
1:35
down in front of their review course, you know, they start with the video lecture, they press play
1:39
on the video lecture, they start watching it five to ten minutes in. They might zone out or get
1:45
distracted. So they restart it. They have to replace certain parts. So it's very easy for a 20-minute
1:51
video lecture to really take about an hour, maybe even two hours before the person feels like
1:58
they watched the whole thing and they understood what was in the video. Now the problem is
2:03
that 20 minute video took two hours and then if you go to the practice questions again, typically
2:09
that person will look through the questions for a minute and think, okay, I guess I didn't
2:13
understand the video because I don't know how to answer these questions. So their only recourse is to go
2:20
back and watch the video again. Now, a much more strategic way of doing that same process that
2:27
would cut that time in half or maybe down to almost zero. You'll see what I mean. That leads us
2:33
into the first key or the first thing that really matters. And that is having a strategic
2:39
study process where you primarily use active study methods instead of passive study methods
2:45
So a much more strategic way of doing that very same thing that would cut the time
2:50
in half or even cut the time down to just 20 minutes is to go straight into the practice
2:56
questions for the lesson and you simply click through the questions, you're making mental
3:01
notes about the patterns you're seeing, what the questions keep talking about. So all you're
3:06
doing there is gathering context in the same language of the questions, which is what matters
3:12
on test day, and then you go back to the video lecture and when you watch it after gathering
3:17
context from the actual questions, it will magically make 10 times more sense the first time
3:23
you watch the video Now I mentioned the free training webinar where we will go into more detail on this stuff because there are strategic ways of using every resource in your review course There a strategic way of using video lectures
3:38
There's a strategic way of using the practice questions in your lesson. There's a strategic way
3:43
to use the text in your review course. There's a strategic way to use the practice sims. And when you
3:49
combine all of these strategic versions of essentially the same things you're already doing
3:55
but you're doing them strategically. It works better. You get through each resource much faster
4:01
and you have better results on test day. Now, let's go to the second thing that really matters
4:07
And that is a daily study process that doesn't kill your spirit
4:12
So what do I mean by that? Well, as soon as I say that, if you are several months into the study process
4:18
you probably know exactly what I'm talking about. So if you're working full time
4:22
your workday consists of eight to 12 hours. Whether or not you commute, you do other things that are just necessities like you eat meals
4:32
you have to prepare meals, you get dressed in the morning. So someone that's working full time, really when it comes down to it
4:38
they have four or five, maybe five hours of pure available time that's not taken up by necessities
4:46
Now, if you are trying to find four to five hours a day to study with your review course
4:51
then what that means is your entire day or your entire life is sleep, wake up, go to work
5:00
and then study, and then do it over and over again for however many months it takes you
5:05
to pass your exams. Our big claim to fame at Super Fast CPA is the two-hour study session
5:11
We teach our clients how to have a two-hour study session where when you apply our study
5:18
strategies to your same review course, you can do your main thing
5:21
study session in just two hours a day. Now ideally you do that in the morning so that it's
5:26
locked in. You have this sense of progress before you even go to work for the day and you don't
5:32
have to dread this big four hour study session all day and try to suffer through it at night
5:37
when your brain is tired, your brain is fried and it just doesn't work that well. Now again
5:42
the strategies and the basis of what that two hour study session consists of, that's what
5:48
you will learn on the free training. I keep talking about that you can sign a
5:51
up for it any time. Now the second part of a study process that doesn't kill your spirit. The other thing
5:57
that we teach our clients is how to effectively use their phones to study as they go about their
6:03
normal day. So you have the two-hour session in the morning and then you use study supplements from
6:09
your phone. You listen to audio notes when you're in your car. You take mini quizzes throughout the day
6:14
You know, you get those screen time reports on your phone. Even the busiest people, you get a screen time
6:20
report that says you have somehow found three hours a day to stare at your phone. So what I'm
6:26
referring to is when you're in this process, if you're going to put in the time and effort and the
6:30
money anyways to take these exams, you might as well be using some of that time throughout your
6:36
day that you're already staring at your phone, most likely doing time waste your stuff
6:40
and you just switch that with ongoing CPA review using study supplements from your phone
6:46
So that way, you put in the two hours in the morning and then you rack up another one, two, maybe three hours from your phone as you go about your normal day
6:56
And then we tell you or we encourage our clients to take the evenings off So you have a very real sense of getting your life back even though you are making more progress faster on the CPA study process
7:11
You're getting better results because you're implementing our active learning strategies and everything is working better and the whole sense of dread around this process goes away
7:22
because your entire life isn't just wake up, work, study, do it over again. So going
7:27
on to the third thing that really matters. This is another one of our key strategies we teach all
7:33
of our clients, and that is to build re-review constant repeat coverage of all the topics into your
7:40
daily study process. Now, if we go back to the traditional way of studying, you spend all this
7:46
time up front trying to master each lesson one by one. You put in all this time and effort
7:52
like I said, you watch the video lecture five times just trying to understand it. It takes you
7:57
four or five hours to get through one lesson and then you leave it behind and don't look at it
8:02
or think about it again for several weeks, maybe even several months. Then you get to your final
8:08
review and you realize you've forgotten essentially everything or at least half of all this stuff
8:14
you spent so much time learning in the first place. Now, when I explain it like that, I think we can
8:19
agree that does not make any sense. So instead, part of our strategies is you learn the materials in
8:26
layers. Instead of trying to master the topics up front all in one day and then leaving it
8:33
behind for a few weeks, you go through the lessons faster. We refer to this as planting the
8:38
seeds. And again, there's a specific way of doing it. But then as you build and re-review to your
8:44
daily process, you will be adding on layers of understanding across all the topics as you go
8:50
So your retention and understanding continually increases and grows, the closer you get to
8:56
day instead of your retention and understanding nose diving as you get closer to test day
9:02
And yes, if you're wondering, you can do all of these things I'm talking about, just doing
9:07
that morning two-hour study session following our study strategies with your same review
9:12
course and then using study supplements throughout your day from your phone
9:16
And you're done by the time the evening rolls around, you don't have to think about CPA study
9:20
in the evenings. So to recap really quick, the big misconception and the thing that you need to understand is
9:26
that not all study time is created equal. Every hour of your CPA study can either be
9:32
incredibly ineffective or incredibly effective if you're using strategic study strategies based on active learning methods. The second thing is a daily routine that doesn't kill your
9:43
spirit. A two-hour main session instead of four or five hours and then you just weave in the
9:49
other hours using your phone as you go about your normal day. And don't discount the effectiveness
9:53
of studying from your phone in little five-minute chunks because we have endless testimonials and
9:59
reviews from our past clients that did exactly what I just described. And then the third thing is
10:04
building constant repeat coverage of all topics into your daily process so that you learn the
10:09
material in layers as you get closer to your exam day. So I hope you found this helpful and eye-opening
10:16
And if you want to know more, you want to see specific examples, specifically how the two-hour main
10:22
study session works with your current review course following some of our study strategies
10:28
then click the button that somewhere around this video to go to the registration page for one of these training webinars choose a time that will work for you and then do not miss it This is one hour that will save you months and months of time and frustration
10:42
And when you attend one of these webinars, I fully invite you to be the judge
10:47
If this stuff is not immediately making sense, if you're not having several aha moments
10:51
and you can't easily see how applying some of these strategies will dramatically increase the effectiveness of your study process
10:59
You know, it's just a free webinar. You can close it and leave at any time. Now on these trainings, we get straight into the strategies and we cover a lot
11:06
So the only thing I would say is try to choose a time where you can sit uninterrupted and just pay attention for the 40 minutes to an hour
11:16
It takes roughly about an hour to walk through the strategies. And as part of the training, because we cover so much, you will get access to the slides from the training, which you'll want
11:25
And then we also give you a mind map so that you have a quick snapshot. of how all the strategies fit together. So again, to register for one of these trainings, just click
11:33
the button somewhere around this video, go to the registration page, choose the time that will work
11:38
for you, and then hopefully we'll see you on the training. Now, if you're still here, here's a few
11:43
clips from some interviews with some of our past clients who all started by attending this same
11:49
free training I'm telling you about. I was doing my work and I would keep seeing your videos
11:52
pop up on YouTube that you advertise that people can be working full time and pass this exam
11:59
still have a life. And like it was those three things. And I think that last one was the most
12:03
important is have a life. Yeah. The hour training. Yes. The hour training. I signed up for that
12:09
I sat down and I listened to this and I got your program and I went on to pass all three of my
12:14
exams before December. And so I'm so super thankful. And I told everybody about super fast
12:21
What you're doing right now is not working. Give this a try. Know that sometimes you do feel like
12:25
you're not doing enough, but God, it works. It works. I studied about half the time
12:33
I studied for the others. I was like, but, you know, I stuck to the super fast method
12:37
So maybe, maybe it'll work out. And I made a 90. So it was like, I made a 91
12:43
That was actually my highest grade. And I was like, well, okay, I guess this method works
12:48
And I said, you know what? I'm going to do that. I'm going to just kind of like embrace the study method
12:54
And then I passed. and once I passed far, that was my first exam I passed, I just told myself, like, I'm not going to fail again
13:01
Like, I know how to pass these now. And I didn't. I passed the next three in a row. I owe my CPA license probably to your service, so thank you so much. It helped me more than you probably know
13:11
And then, like, it was just one after the other. I passed all four of them in three months or so
13:18
It doesn't, like, have to be this weight, like, around your neck. So, yeah, I basically did that for all four tests
13:22
And I passed all four of them. Yeah, it was like a shift. super condensed period of time. I had failed like a bunch of exams, thousands of dollars essentially
13:31
down the toilet. The study tips, I think, kind of connected the dots for me and made that
13:36
happen. So it's pretty sweet. So again, if you're even just a little curious about maybe this
13:41
could actually help you make much more progress faster in your own study process, just click the
13:47
button that is somewhere around or below this video, choose a time that will work for you
13:52
and then attend one of these free webinars. And I will see you there
