Various of tents, evacuated residents in tents Storyline The death toll from the recent devastating earthquakes in Venezuela has risen to 4,490, National Assembly President Jorge Rodriguez said on Sunday. Another 16,740 people were injured in the disaster, Rodriguez said in a social media update. A total of 120,794 households have received relief assistance so far, according to Rodriguez. Since the magnitude 7.2 and 7.5 earthquakes struck within seconds of each other on June 24, Venezuela has recorded 1,222 aftershocks, the latest update shows.
