Gabbard’s departure from the Office of the Director of National Intelligence is unrelated to any controversy or concerns about her performance, the report said. She is leaving her position after her husband was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer, the report added. According to CBS News, Gabbard’s husband has been diagnosed with a rare form of bone cancer, her chief of staff said Friday. Alexa Henning, her chief, said Gabbard would step aside on June 30.
