Fulshear, United States - September 03, 2026 Officer Marissa Parrish stopped to help a woman struggling with a stubborn plant in her flowerbed, an act of kindness that later brought a bag of apples to the police department. During a recent body-camera audit, the Fulshear Police Department came across the encounter. Mrs. Bond was working outside when she waved to Officer Parrish, who noticed her difficulty and stopped to check on her. There was no call for service, crime in progress or emergency. Officer Parrish simply grabbed a shovel and helped Mrs. Bond get the stubborn plant out of the ground. Later, Mrs. Bond visited the police department with a bag of apples for the officers. When asked about the gesture, she explained that it was her way of saying “thank you” for the help she had received. The department said the encounter was a reminder that law enforcement is also about serving people and being part of the community. Officer Parrish did not know anyone would see what she did and was not seeking recognition. She simply saw someone who needed help and stepped in.
