The maritime event featured naval and historic vessels from more than 20 countries, including the Turkish Navy's offshore patrol vessel TCG Orucreis, which took part in the Parade of Sail. Independence Day, also known as the Fourth of July, marks the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, when the 13 colonies declared separation from Britain. It later became a federal holiday and is widely celebrated in the U.S. with fireworks, parades, concerts and patriotic displays.
