Los Angeles, United States - August 30, 2026 08/30/2026 04:27 pm GMT-0700 WINNETKA, LOS ANGELES, Calif. – A two-car collision occurred this afternoon at the intersection of Sherman Way and Oso Avenue, resulting in one vehicle rolling over. Eight individuals, including a child approximately 3 years old, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and are currently being assessed for transport. Preliminary reports indicate that a family traveling northbound on Oso Avenue was struck by another vehicle that ran a red light while heading eastbound on Sherman Way. The impact caused the family’s vehicle to roll over, temporarily trapping its occupants, who were eventually able to exit the vehicle on their own. Witnesses reported that the driver and a passenger from the vehicle that ran the red light fled the scene. One occupant of the fleeing vehicle was seen discarding empty beer bottles in a nearby trash can at a gas station but was detained by bystanders until police arrived. During the incident, a family member of the victims reportedly punched one of the suspects, prompting officers from the Los Angeles Police Department to intervene and threaten arrest for the confrontation. The driver and passenger from the at-fault vehicle are still at large. The condition of all victims remains uncertain, but they are expected to have minor injuries. The Los Angeles Department of Transportation is on the scene assisting with traffic, while the Los Angeles Police Department is investigating the incident, classified as a suspected DUI.
