In Arafat, they performed midday and afternoon prayers. At sunset, they proceeded to Muzdalifah, where they performed the sunset and night prayers. After the symbolic stoning ritual, they remained overnight until dawn of the next day. The ritual consists of several rituals, which are meant to symbolize the essential concepts of the Islamic faith, and to commemorate the trials of Prophet Abraham and his family.
